  1. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 21 Not too bad of an intake if any of the top guys develop. Nobody looks like a sure prospect, but time will tell. Excited to get our first youth from an affiliate in McCarron 21c! Knudsen 21a has the potential, but doesn't have wowing stats or personality. Pedersen 21b has better current ability, but there are question marks over his potential.
  2. Sure, it's only the last qualifying rounds for the Champions League, but Fisker 18a has shown out with 7 goals in 3 games as I rotate the squad.
  3. We've signed ourself a new youth coach, old friend Arslan 01a who ended his 20 year career. Spent 10 years playing for us at every level. He had seasons of 6 goals 6 assists in the 4th tier, 3 and 4 in the 3rd tier, 7 and 7 in the 2nd tier, and 3 and 6 in the top flight. Then went to Turkey and played in the lower leagues for another decade.
  4. @XaW Switzerland looks like a dream for anyone who likes nationalities in the intakes
  5. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 20 The league campaign took a hit due to fixture congestion with the Champions League and the League Cup (we lost in the finals for the second time, have yet to win it). We cruised through the preliminary phase, but then went 1-3-6 the rest of the way and slipped down to third after a heavy 4-0 defeat on the final day slipped us under Randers by 1 goal on goal difference. First time in 4 years we haven't finished in the top 2. Luckily, we still qualify for the Champions League, but will have to go through the playoff. Shouldn't be much of a problem as congestion isn't an issue in the fall. We had lots of injuries, which was annoying, but did help squad rotation. I loaned out quite a number of rotation options out to top flight sides to get them minutes, and it looks like most of them have maxed their potential as decent Superliga players, so I will keep them around the squad next year to hopefully mitigate late season fatigue. Inspired performances in the Champions League and nearly made it all the way. On the one hand, we're not always statistically better than our opponents. But on the other hand, that will never be the case in the Champions League and we did beat the eventual winners in the group stages. Liverpool, Man Utd, Juventus, and Barcelona all suffered defeat against us, so we're truly on of the big boys now in terms of results. Key players: After something like 6 years, I had the option to upgrade youth facilities again. So they will be maxed out next fall. Tons of loans out again off the screen.
  6. As expected, we couln't hang with Man City. It hurts even more when you consider that they lost 3-0 to Liverpool in the final. And we beat Liverpool 2-1 in the group stages. We're knocking on the door now and could realistically complete the challenge in the next 3-4 years. In other news, the board is making questionable decisions.
  7. Brønshøj BK vs FC Barcelona Champions League Quarter Finals
  8. The more exciting news, however, is that by making it to the QF of the Champions League (a bit luckily), Egeris Paarup 13c agreed to sign a new deal. Good that we get to keep one of our stars, even if he is injured most of the time.
  9. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 20 Top heavy intake again this year. Another Brazilian, which is odd. We've now got 3 in 2 years after 0 in the first 18. Also an Icelandic guy, who looks the most promising. Like the look of Erlendsson 20a. Tall, quick, can use both feet seems ideal for a goalscorer. Both Aagaard 20b and Eleandro 20c look like they have the potential to be the next wave of fullback options. Hopefully the potential holds up.
  10. This channel has also been doing that kind of stuff for years and it's pretty helpful!
  11. We are weakest at fullback so this looks promising. I'm hoping these guys will be 140+ PA rather than "5 star" players without the potential to be Champions League quality.
  12. This one's odd given that we have better facilities and a higher reputation than Brondby.
  13. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 19 Part 1 of the challenge complete, after two seasons of finishing second, we got over the hump and beat out Kobenhavn. A great year all around, capped by a sudden uptick in performance Max Knudsen 11b who averaged a 7.41 in the league. The only issue now is that Egeris Paarup 13c refuses to sign a new deal unless we "make the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League" next season. He gave us more time after we were knocked out in the Round of 16 by Bayern this year. I hope our draw is kind and we can get there, since losing him would hurt our side significantly. For the second year running we bow out in the Round of 16, we made the Bayern tie close, but they had talent we could only dream of. Key players: Our growing list of affiliates has yet to produce some variety. Lots of loans and a couple of surplus players left. In particular, Bernburg Lyshoj 16c had 25 starts in the top flight for relegated Lyngby and will get a chance in the first team next season.
  14. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 19 Our newfound links with teams from Japan, Australia, and Slovakia have yet to pay dividends, but we did get a couple Brazilians out of nowhere. The manager is Brazilian, but this is the first time in the save that has made an impact, too bad they aren't very good. Speaking of the intake, we're at the point where we'd rather have one guy and nobody else as long as that one guy has high potential. The question is whether this 5* means the level of Banza 13a (backup for us) or Hjulmand 11a (starter for Man City). Fisker 19a looks promising so long as the potential holds up. Jorgensen 19b is the next up in our trend of producing short attacking midfielders. He's half a foot shorter than Messi...
  15. The third and fourth tiers at the beginning have lots of parity, so it's not too difficult to get quick promotions. Although it's complicated by the amateur poaching bug (not sure if this ever got fixed since I was in those leagues before the first patch). Once you make it to the top flight you have to fight relegation for years. I think it took me 4-5 years of narrowly avoiding relegation before we started to push on. Now, I'm stuck trying to win the league since Kobenhavn are pretty dominant. As with many European countries in this challenge, once you get that league title it's easier to take the last step to the Champions League. For reference, the Danish league is the 4th highest league in Europe by coefficients.
  16. This is frustrating, we're the 6th biggest club in Denmark by reputation. At this point, he's got the potential to be world class and we could lose that.
  17. Brønshøj BK - Squad Update Season 19 Here's a look at the state of our squad. We play a 4-2-3-1 with DMs, slightly modified from the Gegenpress preset. GK: DR: DCR: DCL: DL: DMCR: DMCL: AMR: AMC: AML: ST:
  18. You can tell when the AI switches off and the human switches on for the youth intake commentary
  19. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 18 Had a slow start in the league, and it cost us. We were playing catch-up with Kobenhavn the whole season and had a chance to win the league on the final day. We needed to win away to 3rd placed Randers and Kobenhavn needed to lose away to Brondby. We held up our end of the deal, but they did not and we settled for second place again. Beginning next season, the second place league finisher gets a Champions League group stages spot, so we have that to look forward to if we can't manage to win the league. We're established ourselves as a top Danish side and favorites to make the Champions League knockout stages, but need to push on from there in a few seasons time. A late comeback against Ajax saw us into the Round of 16, where we stole a match against City but then were soundly beaten. Old friend Hjulmand 11a would be nice to still have around. Key players: We got an affiliate with Tokushima Vortis in Japan, and will look to get another one soon. It's not benefitting our intakes yet, but the goal is to renegotiate the agreement when that option becomes available. No transfers in, and just the one out. Sharbini 12i was complaining about wanting to leave, and wanted a $1M release clause to sign a new deal. He wasn't irreplaceable, so we sold him for some profit.
  20. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 18 A bit underwhelming this year, gotta give the new HOYD time to settle in I think. Hopefully his potential opinions are wrong and some of these guys have room to improve. That being said, having 3.5-4 stars PA is fine for this team and will build depth, the issue is that we still need 1-2 of those world class talents to win a Champions League. Orting 18d is the only player really worth highlighting right now. Has good starting attributes and his passing ability makes me want to play him as an AM(A) as opposed to a PF(A).
  21. Preview of our matchup with former player Hjulmand 11a. A nice 1-0 win that was entirely undeserved.
  22. Gone for a new HOYD this season. Really a marginal upgrade on the last guy, but I'm hoping for some spice in our intakes nationality-wise.
  23. Not sure, he really didn't kick on the first few seasons of having him (and I don't think I ever figured out the best way to make use of him). But last year he was very good and we're certainly missing some of that final quality when it comes to converting chances and the like. To get the $56M for him up front pretty much solved financial issues forever, but we haven't yet seen a player with anywhere near the PA he had and we will need a few of those types of players to complete the challenge and win the Champions League. I think in 5 years we might be feeling the effects more if we can't get similar talent coming through.
  24. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 17 A really good season all around. Without having European competitions to worry about, we were able to sneak into the qualifying rounds for the Champions League. Aim is to make the group stages, since that will increase our reputation a good amount and hopefully convice some players to stay (not that we're dealing with very much unrest right now). Everyone is contracted and mostly happy, so the aim is to keep pushing on, developing youth, and starting to challenge for the title that Kobenhavn has run away with 7 of the last 8 seasons. Key players: Training facilities got downgraded, but are being topped off again as we speak. Next goal is to get a few foreign affiliates to spice up our intakes. No transfers in, and just the big two sales.
