  1. For what it’s worth, I’ll add my proverbial two cents to the fountain of people who under no circumstances will sign up to a web blog just to get info on a game.
Thanks to the person who posted it here a few posts up.
Also, there’s this little feature on Twitter that is called a “retweet”. Miles could’ve been retweeting the FMFC blog thingies and it will be visible to those who only follow Miles for instance, and give the FMFC / FM Twitter account even more views.

Squad planner is more of a visual aid for users than a backend feature, it just takes what people used to do outside of the game over a few seasons and brings it in. There isn't any actual functionality that's new. The AI already has some system like this where they look for comparable players of the same ability for the same role to replace others and highly doubt this changes.

The squad planner is leaving it to the players to do the heavy mental work of designing their squad over a few years, imagine taking this concept and trying to apply that to every team in the game, loading times would sky rocket.

It would be nice but it's a bit of a pipe dream tbh.

That was what I was looking out for when Nic was introducing it in the video. Would he confirm that the AI squad management would be much better now they have such a tool at their disposal? But no, it seems the already uneven playing field scale would be tipped even further to the advantage of the player. So in effect, it could actually make things worse if you consider that to be the case that we were much better than the AI prior.
    Very sad

  3. There are only 2 industries that come to mind, that refer to their customers as “users”.

    1. Illegal drugs

    2. Software

Make of that what you will.

It’s interesting (mildly) to see the people who swore on FM 20, 21 & 22 forum topics never to buy another FM for whatever reason, not until they see changes to long-standing issues. Some of them are now top of the queue to buy the new version and even pre-ordered. I don’t have anything against that but it’s pretty rich seeing them coming a few months later to complain and argue with other “users” on the forum about the game and the direction.
As I said, it’s just interesting to see.
    I’ll keep watching and documenting.

Hey man. What skin is this? And is it available for FM21? Could you give me a link where I could get it please?

People are still asking for that nonsense to be implemented into the game? Yes as you say, get right in the bin.  Ugh, go play the Sims or something.    Spending your salary, designing your own kits each season, designing stadiums, setting ticket prices etc etc is never coming to FM. Like, ever. They've said as much.

C’mon, think what you could do with all that 💰 image.png.081af56ed9d14393c0cbd670930084b0.png
Since the announced headline features aren’t up to expectations, where can one find the QoL list? That’s actually where I want to see if there are improvements.

For what it’s worth, if SI want everyone to love the game, just convert 10% of whatever you earn in FM and transfer the cash to our bank accounts😃

where’s the link for the QoL list?

Yes, I've been hooked since CM1 and maybe barring a few early CM updates I've played every version. The big step up was the 3D games, specifically when crowds arrived and I do genuinely feel that overall the game has improved year-on-year. My biggest problem is the new font and colour scheme is too loud, busy and the font is not intuitive. I only use some of the more sober reskins. The year-on-year improvements have outweighed any negatives and most of those are cleared-up in the next version.

It does surprise me, in my opinion of course, that SI haven't made one of those decisions that games developers often make that ruins the game. So far SI have evolved the game so well that FM22 provides as much excitement than CM1 did.

Ah, you did reply. I was starting to think that would never happen (:

    Thanks

Their right side, is your left side.

I know you’re trying to help but this response is not really answering the question IMO

SI needs to work on the UI of their game as this question is something I’ve always wondered too. The conventions are sometimes reversed in other situations in game too. Just a whole mess as various other parts of the UI.

We even had to beg for them to put arrows in reports and stat screens in earlier iterations of the game.

There’s much more to say and a lot that’s wrong with various UI screens that I don’t have the patience and energy to do so.

I don't think they got the memo that this was a preseason friendly

Wow! Did you watch that match? Was that lots of tactical fouling? Or just some kinda otherworldly bug?

And was it FM21 or 22? How did they manage to not get a red? Must've been intentional to be rotating the fouling like this (unless they replaced the entire team at some point and they continued the "good work" :P )

Transfer IA in this game is everything but good. Offered one of my centre mids out on loan with 100% used and un-used wages. One of the clubs offered 90% and my DoF rejected because it wasn't worth for the club lol. I then offered the same player but asking 90% of wages and the same club now offered 80% hahaha thats BS

Now I offered him wanting 80% of wages... Guess what? Yes, the club really interested on signing him offered 70% lmao

I think the AI is just shining you on!
Haha. I can just imagine the AI in their forum, wherever that may be, going :cool::D:Bowen:

  10. Rooney is angry. He pushes Player X. The referee reaches for his back pocket and sends him off!

I remember that used to be on the game coz it happened to my brother who always played as Man United and I used to tease him about it.

I agree with the people that say that they’ve navigated these issues as best they could. I just want more jostling with the ball. When a player loses the ball, he runs after it and tries to win it back for his team like they would IRL.

That’s the kinda realism I’m hoping to see more and more of.

So this other very mediocre Sky Bet Championship team just scored a 1-1 tie away against me in, literary, the 95:th minute. Fair enough, if it wasn't for the fact they had 2 (two) early red cards . How people have the self control to not reload after that is beyond me.

What was that? "Could happen in real life"?  Sure. Give me one example of this happening in real life anywhere above the Keflafjord regional Sunday beer league.

A similar scenario happened to me recently on the super league save I have going on on FM21. I was tempted to rage-quit, but realized that I hadn't done that in nearly 10 years. I wasn't gonna start again. I just finished the match on key highlights (i usually use Full Match highlights), then saved and have not played the game for a month.

Now, it's completely out of my system, and I'm looking to continue the save over Christmas.

If I had rage-quit and replayed the game, I'm about 94.63% sure I will win the game, but I'd also lose interest in the save and ruin all the immersion I love to keep going.

I usually just follow that exact same procedure when something like that happens, I make sure that I don't rage-quit, leave the game for a while, cool off a bit, then come back after some time..

The only time I reload a game is if I get a crashdump and I hadn't saved. I always save b4 and after games though, so as to protect against instability not to future-protect against reloading.

My mantra is, if the AI cannot do it, I cannot do it.

    Simple

Thanks. I have over 10000 hours of experience in the editor. So I would hope that my work is top quality. The 20th Level adds a few hundred thousand players to the game and so probably best not to include it unless you have a premium computer. Teams play on Saturdays and Wednesdays mainly, Because of the League set up, it was more important to ensure that fixtures were not too close to each other, and there is at least 3 days between games. Therefore having the games over 2 days would not have been a viable option.

I've been playing this for a couple of weeks now, and it's really enjoyable. Especially comparing this ME to FM14's which is quite interesting.

Unfortunately though, the "not having any way to watch other teams matches" outside watching highlights "after the fact", is a real immersion breaker. I spend a lot of time going around in the game world and play all my matches in full. It just sucks having only your matches seem "real" or can be attended. It just not what a real game-world should look like and is a big oversight for my style of playing the game. For some other users, it might not be a big issue, who only have perhaps 15 mins each day to play the game so can only play their matches and on key highlight mode no more. But for my style, it just breaks so much immersion. I mean, having all the matches at 3pm each day at the same time for all the teams? :'(

Anyway, is there any way to make this change better? As I said, I don't know if it was your DB edit that I was using on FM14 (or some other person called Chuckle Chuck), but there was league games, and two cup competitions on his too; and you get alternate scheduling as much as it allowed. And the fixtures didn't pile up either, and was still well spaced out.

Tried that.Matthias Ginter. Made him TOP target. Player was extremely interested. Made lower bid. They rejected, waited one week, made again, rejected, 1 week wait, made bid above value, they accepted it, now player has no interest in joining.

Lol. Maybe he just became pissed off by the constant flip-flops! :D If you were a girl, would you have any interest in being in a relationship with that kinda guy? ;)

  14. So apparently there's no one like me in the FM-universe?

I do everything myself. I hire the coaches (including the ones for the U23, U18), do the transfers, contract renewals (for all the teams), massively edit the training schedule (to the point that it's really my work rather than the AM's), everything.

I also play the matches in Full Highlight mode except lowly friendlies especially those that are against minor-reputation teams that are affiliates.

I guess that's just my idea of what "managing" is all about. Lol

    Hey there,

I will check the spellings but I just want to thank you for the feedback really. Hard work :) & 20000 hours of editing experience. (sorry for the spelling) I am no spring chicken either.

Here are step by step instructions:

Step 1: Extract the file to here: downloads folder and drag it to the following location: MyDocuments-SportsInteractive-FootballManager2021-editordata

(If the editor data folder does not exist then simply create it)

Step 2: Load the game, e.g. career game, check it is the only one ticked in database settings:

    UlmZMev.png

Press Confirm & Advanced set up.

Then you can choose the amount of divisions you want to include

    NcFDfIE.png

If you include all 20 divisions you will get over 300k players and staff, if include 19 divisions it might be better for you if your Editor is freezing but it shouldnt do

Then Start game and you should be grand. I will correct the spelling mistakes in an upcoming update so thanks for letting me know.
The divisions are numbered so you know where they are in the pyramid but yea you can adjust the names if you want. in the IGE

If you dont include all the divisions, you can always make the last one view only :)

and if you need anything in particular I am always happy to help.

HI. Just finally recently decided to take the plunge and ditch my FM14 save and get FM21. Trying to get used to all the new features over these past few years. Because I so enjoyed the Super league save I had going on FM14, I decided to go for a similar thing right from the start this time.

The database is really good and well-made. What is different about the 20th league level? And if I set it as view only, what will that change mean? And is there a way to make teams play on 2 days so that I can watch other teams matches if I want to? They all play at the same time/day and I loved watching other games on the next day in my FM14 save.

Once again, thanks for the effort put into this.

Statistics are subjective. You can include the dribbles down the flanks included in those statistics you picked out. The fact is in the ME highlights you don't see players dribbling past defenders like they did in FM21

I was the first to call it in the beta thread that dribbling was none existent besides players running down to the wings to cross, That's running. I'm talking about jinking past players with skilll, fients, which is the whole point of having a player with high dribbling skills.

Those same high skills are now made redundant in this ME. I'm not saying the game is broken just that one facet is clearly broken because dribbling should happen and with the new animations dribbling should have been showcased a lot more which is what a lot of people like myself was expecting. Not to see at the end of the game statistics about dribbles but actual action.

I think this is quite a good discussion which has undoubtedly come up quite a few times on here. In the ME, there is no way to differentiate between an Okocha or Ronaldinho-type player to a Messi-esque player. Both types do what we normally term "dribble", but one does it with speed and incredible close control (like George Best too) while the other type does mostly flicks and flair skills to bamboozle the defender (like C. Ronaldo used to do in his early years).

I don't know how this difference can be made more pronounced in the ME. I don't know if it's a matter of improving the graphics, or improving the body movement, or how it uses the attributes, or something else. And even more challenging will be how to depict this in 2D.

The day that difference is noticeable and significant, then that will be a GREAT day in SI heaven.
