    It's probably because:

    1) You have a lot of money in the transfer/wage budget, and he wants a substantial pay rise because he believes the team can afford it, particularly given his value of £75-90m; or

    2) He doesn't really want to resign with Newcastle, and is giving you the amount for what it'd take for him to stay, rather than move on.

Quick question how do Players know your budget?

I find it really annoying that just because I've been sensible with wages and have a lot left over every new contract or renewal is exploiting.

Surely Players should judge the demands based on the wages in my squad no?

It's not a snide comment, it's more a surprise. I'll give you a hypothetical situation.

A player has a value, based on my scout's estimate of £25m-£40m. I want this player, but I don't want to pay more than £30m. So I offer £15m to see what happens. I expect it to be rejected, but perhaps the other club wants the money. If it's rejected I wait a few days, and then declare my interest in buying him. If he comes out and says he wants to join me, I know I can get him cheap. Then I make an offer of £20m, and I expect that to be rejected as well. I also pay close attention to the player and if I can see his morale drop, perhaps he makes a fuzz in the media, he is asking to leave. If he don't, then I might have to pay more. I will slowly start to increase my bid, and at some point they will negotiate. Sooner, and at a lower value if the player is unsettling the squad. Just the same as the player does to you if he wants to leave.

I do similar things when I sell players, unless they kick up a fuzz, I reject very low bids, and if they come about what I value the player I negotiate as high as I can. If the player makes a scene, I either stand my ground and tell the player I won't let him leave, or I don't want him to disrupt things and sell him a bit cheaper than I had hoped, just to keep the squad happy.

If you start on high bids in FM, you will likely pay more than you should for players. You only start high if you are in a hurry and expect to pay more because you need the player fast or you want to snap him up before someone else get interested.

    Ahhh yes I understand this.

But I never offer a 1/3 of the value that's just ridiculous.

Surely there should be a low offer trigger where a club will now refuse to sell only to you because youre taking the mick.

Because they try to unsettle him. This is a small attempt at seeing if the player will kick up a fuzz and help them get him for a low price later on. Don't you do the same to the AI? If so, there are no wonder you are getting fleeced.

    No I don't.

Please explain this "there are no wonder you are getting fleeced" comment. right now I'm assuming its just a snide comment but if there's actual context I'd like to know.

And as i mentioned I dont see ai offering 1/4 of the price for ai players

    another under-priced offer

  4. Way too many offers for players that arent listed are FaaaaaaaaR too low.

This players estimated worth is over 3X the offer made! Why???

This doesnt happen in ai to ai transfers so why is this something that continuously occurs throughout the game?

In the meantime i have to break the bank to buy a player from an ai team, even when transfer requests are submitted.

    Spoiler

  5. In my first or second season Leeds manager moved from 4th place Leeds (midseason) to 17th place spurs. I thought "Very unrealistic, but ahh well this is FM transfers have always been dubious"

Well In my 3rd season now and Klopp has just moved from champions league and prem winners 1st place (this season) liverpool to Man city who are currently 9th.

This is getting out of hand this would NEVER happen!

  6. Just wanted to know if when loaning players, after the season has started or in Jan to leagues which have a registration limit if the team in question has already filled there limit do the exchange players for the new loanee?

I've found on FM21 you will physically need to create a new manager and register the loaned "Regular starter" into the squad.

  7. This season has been complete garbage

7 years legend status and still board wont give me an option to help find an affiliate club!!!! instead they offer garbage

I wish fm would explain the changes they know will frustrate people!

All year I've been searching forums about when you qualify to choose. Turns out theres no reasonable requirement

No, not ignore the information, however you have asked why Haaland is unhappy according he has started 9 out of 13 games, but only played 90 minutes in 3 of them.

I have suggested that while his contract/playing time notification has been fulfilled, Haaland himself is unhappy with being subbed at 70 mins the majority of games, regardless if he is tired or not.

In real life according to https://www.infogol.net/en/player/erling-haaland/27207, he averages 97 mins per match (I presume this includes injury time).

All I have suggested is that perhaps he doesn't like being subbed every game. No need to get so defensive and sarcastic.

Subbing a player at 70 minutes isn’t sending him a message that’s he’s a star player no matter his stamina levels. Risk is apart of the game. You decided not to risk his health but now you upset him in doing so. Part of your job is man management.

TBH when he started complaining i was playing him every other game. I like to rotate keep everyone's fitness and minutes health. So playing him this much was a huge upgrade.

SO keeping that in mind and seeing "Star Player" actual playing time in his happiness makes sense in my mind.

  9. @Mars_Blackmon

It says hes played 8 games within in the 8 matches he's played there's been 3 games he's been dropped for so it doesn't make sense

Sorry I was looking at Gravenberch thinking it was Haaland being the important player.

I guess similar can be drawn though. Haaland is starting 90% of games? Possibly, so that may mean the star player is being met. But he’s only playing 70mins and that’s what he’s unhappy about?

Ok but the issue is the game is telling me I'm giving him enough football. should i then think hmmmmmmm I know better than the game lets ignore the information.

As for the 70 min he get tired quick so he gets subbed it doesnt make sense risking players

An important player needs to be playing in 80%+ games.

If he's missed 4 out of 14 he's only played about 70%. For that reason the promise hasn't been kept.

Do you mind Listing all the percentages for the player roles.

Star player is 90% i assume

Its silly that so much contrasting information is in the game

Tbh. I don’t see a problem. There is a option play through injuries for a reason.

I just didnt want to risk injuring him further

I think the complaint here is that the screenshots show that each player is getting what they were promised under “Agreed Playing time” in their “Actual Playing time”. So that would indicate that their promise should be met.

For me though, I don’t use that as the gauge of whether a promise will be met, I usually track the progress though the promises tab.

Tbh I did this and it was all green 2 weeks before so i rested them both for a week since i had a big game coming up against man u.

But yes this is the complaint

How can you have Erling Haaland complaining about game time? Doesn't he become one of the best strikers in the game? Surely you'd be playing him week in, week out. His status is 'alienated', you only ever get that if a player's hardly played. Think a bit more context is needed here.

He obviously plays most games for him to have the star player playing time being met

Anyways the Haaland complaint was made on the 18/05 He started the last 2 matches of the season. Missed the community shield against Man u as he just returned from injury and his fatigue was on amber

See his form I think he's missed 4 games out of 14

Promise ended on the 9th of October
