  1. Some frown on betting, that's fair enough, I don't though so who's your money on? Haven't looked properly, but first thoughts are that betting on Argentina to win is madness when Messi golden ball is almost double. It's hard to see one happening without the other...
  2. Yeah I have them as slight favourites over Brazil so you're preaching to the choir.
  3. They play well as a team though. No point having individuals that France/England etc do when their coach holds them back.
  4. Aye. He's always been his own stubborn man, for better or worse. Spain are stacked in midfield though anyway so shouldn't matter too much.
  5. Luis Enrique doesn't seem to be a fan, barely used him at the last Euros and rarely calls him up.
  6. Like most others seem to think, Argentina or Brazil. Hopefully the former just for Messi.
  7. "I knew it was you, Andrew" doesn't quite have the same ring to it. Don't think it would be a fishing trip either. "Let's go on a boat to my obscure island, Andrew" instead maybe.
  8. On a serious note... I couldn't care less if he's given a knighthood personally, I just find it baffling how so many (generally) level headed folk can't see through what he does. Maybe if another email is leaked they'll realise what a scumbag he is.
  9. Tbf he seems to have judged it perfectly. Just look at this thread for example, most seem impressed that he didn't skip a queue. Well done Becks, don't even care that you've been a shill for Qatar anymore.
  10. True about the bold. I'll ask the question then, what powers do they hold that local governments can't install?
  11. I would love to say I'm not anti-monarchy but it's probably both untrue and a complicated matter at the same time. I don't care care if the UK continues to have a monarchy or not. I know some people who know their history better than I do dislike certain elements of it, but I can't speak to that. My position boils down to this - firstly, if the monarchy was disbanded today, what impact would it have on me? I'm going with next to none. Secondly, while I have no problem with people wanting to mourn the Queen's death, it makes me angry when people try to force their grievances onto others. If people feel need to grieve, then grieve. I'm not patriotic, why should I care? (These are probably the ramblings of a drunkard, but anyway)
  12. Possibly true. I don't think I listened to a single speech from the Queen (in my memory anyway), and don't plan to listen to Charles any time soon. So I'm probably not best placed to judge what they say that leads to people embracing them. I've never understood it, even coming from a unionist/loyalist area of NI.
  13. There's still far too much pro-monarchy sentiment in the UK for it to fail just yet. I do find it hard to agree with people who think it still has a place in modern society though. Aside from symbolism, anyway.
