  1. I think I see what he is saying, if a few players came to him and said they want pay rises and got refused with the reason they can't afford it, then those players in reality would tell the rest of the dressing room and you wouldn't get every player asking as they would already know what's coming. The AI just isn't that advanced.
  2. At least in FM22 in a long term save I upgraded to max facilities from adequate over the course of the save. My board to be fair were pretty good about upgrading until I hit superb. Then once my teams rep got to 4.5 stars training facilities were then able to be asked for an upgrade to state of the art. Youth facilities only came up as an option after I'd won the champions league and got to 5 stars. So I'd say it's partly rep related and also down to your chairman/board (ambition and youth priority. Finances will also play a part. They will need to be there to complete the upgrade but also depends possibly how good the financial management is. I tended to ask once we got some money in after promotion and staying up etc. The main problem I have with the board is trying to get a second new stadium. I got a new stadium 4/5 years in. I was there 14 seasons maxing capacity for 5 seasons after all expansions had been completed (which they were very good about expanding) but they won't entertain a new stadium even though I can ask and even put forward and argument. They just say we can achieve here without moving. It's a 31.4k stadium in Germany. Not sure if it's because there is a hidden thing in the game that you have to be in a stadium 20 or 25 years that I've seen mentioned before. So it's ok but I want more capacity. Same goes for feeder clubs. Got to a certain amount but the board won't budge.
  3. In FM22 I found the same thing. I won 9 out of 10 in la liga titles and multiple long runs in the champions league and my sponsorship was still only 8th in la liga with real betis on about 7.5 million a year. 4.5 star rep for many years. I did notice after season 8 when real Madrid dropped out of the champions league places in la liga that Atletico Madrid seemed to take the equivalent of Reals sponsorship and the 2 pretty much just swapped their sponsorship income. I believe we're roughly 55m and 70m. Next nearest were only on 20m. Barcelona had the highest I think but I can't remember what that was.
  4. A few factors involved. If your chairman/person has low ambition or youth importance (I think that's the stat) then they aren't likely to come up as options to upgrade. Also club rep plays a part. At least on FM22 it has for me. I took a bottom club in Germany from liga 3 to the top and only once I'd won the champions league and club rep went to 5 stars did my board allow me to upgrade to state of the art youth facilities. However they did allow me to get to superb quite quickly. My thing now is to try and get my second stadium built. Current one is 12 years old and 31000 and I think has reached max capacity. Board won't build a new one. Been asking for 3 years.
  5. I too am in a long term save on FM22. I looked into in editors yesterday strangely. I came across one from FMscout. It's free to get and view stuff but will need to pay to use it. I'm pretty sure you can change kits on it. I only wanted to gain access so I could see what my clubs rep was in figures rather than stars compared to other clubs that are 5 star reputation. Turns out my club has a rep of 8904 out of 10k. I'm assuming if it hits 9k you go to 5 stars.
  6. Hi all, It's always been slow but usually I've managed to save the game to the cloud (FM22). It usually only lets me have 2 saves in in there or it just stops saving or won't load the save. I've deleted all but one and even that won't save or very inconsistently will save. It's annoying because I play on a laptop when travelling etc and prefer to play on my computer at home. It's suddenly become an issue over the last week where it barely ever saves. I'm using epic game store. Any suggestions on why this would start happening now?
  7. I'd imagine that the fines just reduce your wage expenditure and that's it. Probably not shown anywhere specifically but that's coming from someone who hasn't looked and still playing FM22 as I'm not done with a long term save before going to FM23 which was free. I've only just started fining players recently. I never realised it had much effect. I certainly haven't noticed all that much difference personally. Maybe doing it consistently over a few years I will notice it more with younger players. Even with fines I'm suffering the same slump in form I did last season at the exact same moment 😂. Oh well, looks like Bayern Munich will win the league again.
  8. If it is limited to time then I hope it isn't too many years. If my club keeps growing as it is, I should be out growing it in 3 or 4 seasons.
  9. I stumbled across a narrow 433 that's working really well. It is FM22 so I don't know if this was popular or not. Previous to this I was playing this with two wide players instead but playing out from the back and offside trap on. I have tall forwards so playing out from the back isn't as necessary to keep possession. I've found that offside trap just doesn't help when playing against good players. The only thing I change when playing better teams is the DM to a DLP on defend. All players are set to hard tackling. Yes I do get a fair amount of cards but we do win back the ball well. Im 10 seasons in and I originally started the save playing 4132. This tactic has been used for around 1 and a half seasons and not lost many.
  10. Although I'm looking to the future a little early, my team SC Bonner (FM22) I've played 10 seasons and right at the end of last season completed a massive stadium capacity upgrade. Went up from 19.8k seats to 29k (9.2k change). Whilst it was being done the stadium was closed and we went back to the beyarena in Leverkusen which we previously rented when the stadium was first being built. We first rented this after promotion to the bundesliga 2 as original stadium didn't qualify needing more capacity and undersoil heating in league rules. My average attendance now is around 28k. I know the stadium can go to 32k from a post that came up once. Should I get to 32k and keep getting max attendance do you think I might get another new stadium at some point?
  11. So generally speaking have you found them to score well as poachers, advanced forward? I'm still playing fm22 and I'm currently starting my 10th season in the current save with the same team. I did 13 in the previous save. As Real Betis I had a lot of good youth talent come through. I can't remember who I had as the HOYD in that save before he retired. When I moved onto Leipzig from Betis I didn't get much in the way of good youth in that save. In this current save I've had one decent player come through who was a cm (again who can't shoot) but every striker apart from one has had below 10 finishing. I now have one with 15 but rubbish at everything else 😂
  12. I don't know how many experience this but I have found it a common theme on FM in general that lots of youth strikers have poor finishing stats that don't really improve. Yes their preferred position would be false 9 etc. Many I have converted to wingers or amc. Just wondering if many have had success using them as strikers when they have good stats generally but low finishing and how you have got them scoring well?
  13. I'll answer my own question. I think whatever TV money in German football is basically just disseminated through prize money at the end of the season. I loaded a previous save and looked at the money side of things and it was the same. No TV money apart from other competitions i.e champions league.
  14. Not sure if it's the same on FM22 and FM23 (I'm on FM22) but when getting promoted from liga 3 to bundesliga 2 in four seasons in bundesliga 2 I never received any TV revenue despite games broadcast on TV. Will the same thing happen now I'm in the top bundesliga?
  15. Although FM22 I just had a new stadium built. I wasn't sure what to expect to be honest. I'm currently playing as SC Bonner in Germany. Like you I don't really use the editor but I did just to put this club in 3 liga (I wanted a challenge) and don't want to download a custom database with lower German leagues but at the same time I did look at what the stadium could expand to. Having gained promotion in the first very odd season, to my surprise bundesliga 2 had requirements meaning the stadium needed to be 15k capacity and have under soil heating. Sport park Nord only had about 11k and no undersold heating. I was expecting my board to just make the required improvements as when I looked in the editor it could expand to around 15 or 16k I think. Instead they rented the BayArena. After I'd stayed up and a new chairman was voted in he said wanted the club to return to Bonn and made plans to build a new stadium there. After a season of looking plans were made for a 15.4k stadium and a loan was taken out for 25M and building commenced for 2 seasons. Now I've just gained promotion to bundesliga for our first season in the new stadium. Played there for the first time last night in a friendly and yes, it was the four stands. My first thoughts were at least we might be able to expand into the corners one day. Lol. Seems that won't be happening. 😂 On a plus note I've gone from getting 3k attendance in first season to 5k in second, stayed steady and last season was getting around 7k as we were top for long periods until being overtaken after being beaten 2nd. They said they expected and up turn in attendance as fans would want to come to the new stadium. I wasnt expecting much maybe 9k. Already sold that in season tickets and they are expecting 14k to be sold. Interestingly the seating is only 11.4k but capacity is 15.4k. I expected it to be an all seater being new. With that being predicted the button in the bottom right corner has appeared to expand the stadium. I won't bother pushing my luck asking for that. Plus the club has very little money. I fully expect relegation as I have virtually no transfer budget but let's hope for another miracle 😁
  16. Maybe, the 8 year contracts are one thing but the cost of the transfer fee is probably spread across 8 seasons as well. That's how they can spend the money now avoiding ffp. My latest save seems to have no reason as to why some players I can only give 3 year contracts and some 4. My board has no restrictions. Unless it's bundesliga 2 league rules. I haven't looked that hard at them.
  17. For me it was just a case of the richest clubs wanting my best players. Even though I could pay high wages 300k+. Apparently because he had been scouted a few times this made him feel special and wanted by said clubs (never works for me 😂), so he wanted to go. They put in bids near the value and then I just countered it with silly high amounts that I would let the player go for and negotiated.
  18. Not in FM22 (don't have FM23) but in FM21 I did sell 2 players for very high money. At Inter I had a Turkish winger that I sold to man city for 170m including add ons. Then I got hold of a Brazilian on a free that turned out to be one of the best after a few seasons. PSG and man city chased him. Eventually had to relent and accepted a 200m offer. Player was unhappy and was just losing form. On FM22 closest I've come is with a Brazilian midfielder. Signed for 22m to my Real Betis team about 5 seasons in. 3 or 4 seasons later he was being chased by a number of clubs. Best offer was from Liverpool 150m.
  19. How about something more basic. HOYD. 10 intakes per year for 5 years. One with an average HOYD and one with top stats. See what averages you get. Also if there's an improvement progressively with having a top HOYD. Obviously all with the same facilities etc. People also say personality can have an effect that would be an interesting thing to see if that really makes much difference.
  20. Wow that's cheap. Although FM22 I'm playing as SC Bonner in Germany. I couldn't be bothered to download lower leagues so I started them in liga 3 as a challenge. Promoted to bundesliga 2 first season finishing second. My stadium was not upto standard not 15k capacity or under soil heating, so they chose to rent Leverkusen's Beya arena. After staying up they decided to build a new stadium back in Bonn. They searched for a site to build and at the end of the second season they announced plans to build a 15,000 seater that cost 25m with undersold heating as part of the rules for the division. Took out a loan for 10 years at 250k per month as we got 5m sponsorship for the stadium. That loans gonna kill me with our budget 🤣
  21. Just wondering what interesting things you have noticed happen in. Long term saves. For example for me I was interviewing for a Newcastle job 9 seasons in and noticed that the chairman had cut back investment twice. Chelsea had new owners that had a lot less money. Real Madrid struggling to get champions league football. Lack of German wonderkids. When signing an Italian from sassuola it mentioned that it was due to large investment in Italian football facilities baring fruit producing excellent players. Having seen such things leads me to wonder if you can try to force certain things to happen. More at your own club. For example I noticed atletico madrid expanded their already newish stadium to around 80000 capacity and always had money to invest in their team, yet my team winning the league 8 out of 9 seasons in Spain didn't. I moved on as they wouldn't expand or build a new stadium despite money in the bank. My facilities could never go to state of the art as I could not ask to improve it that high. Now this must be to do with the ambition of the chairman. Atletico clearly have ambition and mine is/was happy to just keep things tighter. I never used to criticise the board as I wanted to keep them happy. I wonder if I criticised them more for lack of ambition to the papers whether I might have ended up with a takeover?
  22. Hi all, Just wondering how much any of you have managed to expand the stadium or managed to build a new one with RB Leipzig? Doesn't need to be fm23. I'm on fm22. Just a general question to see what might be possible. I've just had the board agree to expand from 48000 to 57500 I think. It was between 57-58000. If I continue my success I wonder how big a stadium I can get with this team. After taking charge 10 seasons into the save I have just won 2 bundesliga, 2 German cups, 2 German supercups. Europa League, champions league, euro super cup and world club cup in 2 and a half seasons. Last season was a clean sweep, quadruple and then went to club world cup straight after. Club rep went from 4.5 to 5 stars. I expected larger sponsorship to come in but it hardly changed. At least the board agreed my request to expand the stadium though. My previous boards refusal was the reason I left.
  23. In FM22 at least, for me the best free kick taker I've had is nabil fekir. Just seemed to score consistently. Also my other AMC Sergio canales was also fairly consistent. Both were around 15 on free kicks I believe but we're also just good all round players on technical aspects. Ward Prowse was 19 but did seem to score less often. His corners were excellent though. That was all playing at Real Betis. I did however put free kicks and set pieces in training quite a lot and not so much by the time ward Prowse came into the team. So how much influence that had I'm not sure.
  24. Well I finished the first half a season and ended 3rd but won the Europa League and final of German cup. Damn you Bayern. 1st full season, I had my youth come through and looks like I could have 1 good player and the rest average. In terms of scouts I have roughly 50% german. Head of youth is german where as at Betis he was English. I have just increased my junior coaching to max after that intake so hopefully it will start getting slightly more consistent results soon. I won the bundesliga ending Bayern's dominance since the save started and quarter final of champions League. Also in the German cup final which I'm yet to play. I've got quite a few leagues loaded. England, Germany, Spain, Italy all playable with MLS, Colombia and China viewable only. I've added bundesliga 3 as viewable from next season.
