Everybody is tipping Turkey a dark horse so fully expecting them to be rubbish and go out in the group stage
Seeing more saying Denmark are a darkhorse. Who's this year's Austria gonna be between the two?

Might be a **** game but **** it, it's the start of an international tournament so I'm giddy \o/

I'd love to know if at any point anyone has said to him "how about I take this next one seeing as you're a bit ***** at them?" I mean, probably not seeing as you don't really want to get into an argument with one of the best there's ever been, but still, his record is awful!

What's Ronald's actual record from free kicks like? He's obviously hit a couple of brilliant ones but most of them are woeful

Ah, Man. United to beat Villarreal 6 - 1 with Fernandes and Cavani to score 3 goals each... Scholes: They would be blown out of the water. The United squad is superior and should win pretty easily. ESPN: There is no way that United can lose this game!
...and then, what happened?
Oh gosh! English fans.. You guys are so cute (:
No idea what was wrong with the post you quoted. We should get through the group ffs. This post is more arrogant and condescending than any English fans' post in here. In fact half the people here have been joking about us going out early ffs

Think White will be much closer to the starting 11 than JWP would have been
Absolutely. Really can't understand why anyone is upset by it at all.

Thinking JWP should go - fine, there's reasons for it.
Acting like this is some dreadful decision - idiotic.

Ben White must be buzzing. Gone from nowhere to potentially at least 1 start at a major tournament in space of a few weeks
He might be starting the first game at this rate, he's better than Coady in a 4, and Mings looks unreliable.

He's been great for Brighton as well when I've watched. He looked levels above for us, which was wild considering he hadn't played above league 1 but he strolled in looking like he should be top half PL player.
His ability to bring it out from the back could be really useful to this England team. I think him and Stones could be a good partnership.

I am a touch surprised that he went for a centre back rather than a midfielder, unless Southgate was joking about Trent having the capability of playing in the centre as a reason to include him?
Either he's worried about Maguire or Mings.
He's probably worried about both of them tbf.

James Ward-Prowse should have went, huge mistake from Southgate.
There's an argument for taking him, but I don't think not taking a player who'd have been sat on the bench for the most part anyway is going to make any real difference to our chances.

White is ace, and can cover DM in an emergency as well. Him or JWP was always the most logical choice.

Wasn't watching to see the chanting, but people booing Watkins and changing for Bamford are thick as ****.
You can want a different player called up for whatever reason, but why boo someone playing for your team ffs.

I think that makes it more likely JWP comes in as replacement.

Should be JWP though. Henderson and Phillips are still slight injury doubts. If one of Bellingham/Rice are also injured, then there's no more Trent to cover in midfield.
Phillips should be fine for Sunday according to Southgate, so his fitness shouldn't be an issue. Don't disagree with the general point though, only one injury in midfield and it looks a bit light.

Hopefully it's not JWP so we can be saved from MLG never shutting up about him and how he should be brought on.

Get Luke Ayling in so he can cover CB as well as RB
In seriousness it will probably be either White or JWP.

Nah unless you're labelled a DM on Football Manager you cannot possibly have any defensive abilities whilst also being comfortable going box to box
I do hope that's not aimed at the discussion from the other day, given that's not what was being argued in the slightest

Phillips is injured btw and I think might miss the first game
Southgate said he'll be involved at the weekend so injury isn't as bad as it looked, unless something has changed.

Very poor half from us. Far too passive, slow and not enough runners in behind.
Feels like this could be copy and pasted from any of that past several of our performances We feel very predictable.

Mings is just a bit of a thug isn't he?

Wonder if Bellingham and Rice will become the first choice midfield pair with Phillips and Henderson as the back up choices? Bellingham really has impressed me when I've watched him this season. Ridiculously gifted for a 17 year old.

Yeah, like say you’re losing 1-0 with 15 minutes to go, Ward Prowse like for like with Henderson, Bellingham or Phillips isn’t that much of an impact sub and you might not even get a free kick or corner before the end of the game.Yeah exactly. You'll be bringing on whoever's on the bench out of Grealish, Sancho, Sterling, and/or DCL as an extra striker or something. Not Ward-Prowse just in the hope we get a set piece to increase our chance of a goal by about 1% seeing as it's not like the options we have without him are exactly terrible at them.

Saying this as someone who probably would have taken Ward-Prowse in the 26, but I don't know why people are massively inflating the importance of his set piece ability. Yeah, he's absolutely outstanding at them, but given the players who are comfortably ahead of him, baring injury how much is he even going to play? Even as an impact sub, you'd be throwing him on in the hope of getting a set piece that might not even happen.

I got one as soon as the draw for the EFL Trophy (Johnstone's Paint Trophy) happened in my last one. Don't quite remember when it happens. If you don't, it could be down to your youth level being too low. Should get it to level 1 asap for youth development reasons.
Thank you. Only just got it to level 1 so it might happen next season in that case I suppose, will see how it goes!
