  1. I mean I'll be honest, if the queue was an hour or 2 I'd probably head down there, it is history.
  2. It's weird watching the live stream of it. Some people you can tell are there taking it seriously, bowing to the coffin, making a prayer that sort of thing, others do just seem to be wandering through looking a bit gormless.
  3. Do think if the club had had a quiet word in his ear and told him to wind his neck in would have been a better approach than the letter they sent.
  4. I've read quite a few people (mainly women) say that using rape and sexual assault for football banter and the like is a really bad idea and you shouldn't do it. These things are complicated!
  5. Players and match officials will wear black armbands as a mark of respect and, together with managers, will gather at the centre circle before kick-off. Fans will be asked to join a minute’s silence, which will be followed by the National Anthem, God Save The King. Big screens and LED perimeter boards will display tribute images to Her Majesty and flags at the grounds will be flying at half-mast. When the clock turns to 70 minutes, fans will be invited to applaud The Queen’s 70-year reign.
  6. You're saying that any gesture is fair game and it doesn't matter if people find it upsetting or offensive or triggering, I think this is a unpleasant and wrong! Goodness me, I'm giving my opinion here not some peer reviewed scientific paper. You've got big enough shoulders, just accept that some people don't agree with you.
  7. Making unpleasant points and then boring everyone to death with pseduo intellectual arguments when challenged is kind of your thing so we're at an impasse here!
  8. There's a good reason why very few comedians at any level go around doing nazi salutes anymore. If it's too spicy for them, it's definitely too spicy for Keith from Twitter trying to satirise the royal family in front of a bunch of pissed up Preston fans.
  9. Also, some people will find the nazi salute offensive/triggering for quite legitimate reasons! I don't think a football match is a great place for it tbh.
  10. I thought we were talking about the guy talking about doing it at a football match?
  11. But are the people laughing with you for the mocking, or laughing because the Nazi salute is a "naughty" thing to do.
  12. He's a dick and the more info that comes out about what he actually said, the less sympathy I have.
  13. Big problem is this is such a short notice bank holiday. Definitely are some sectors where you are leaving people in the lurch if you treat it as a day off.
