Raith Rovers won the Division Two Title after defeating Stenhousemuir in the final match by 2 goals to nil.

Flaherty returned to the midfield even though he was not fully fit and youngster Mcvey started only his 3rd game of the season up front due to injuries to Brighton, McManus & Scott.

4 Minutes into the game top scorer Russell opened the scoring. This settled Raith Nerves and they played some good stuff however Stenny always looked dangerous on the break and Smith made some good saves. Just before HT Mcvey scored a great goal to make it 2-0.

The second half was a differnt affair and Stenny took the game to raith but some good defending and goalie smith had a fine game.

So Raith can look forward to Div 1 but rumours are abound that Brownley may have taken Raith as far as he can and may leave if a good oppurtunity of a premier team were to present itself. Brownley is understood to want to test himself against some of the top managers including Richard Thomson & Nick Bott.

The final session swa a tense affair with three managers all vying for the final slots. Thistle's las match against Ayr was a nervous affair, however after 70 mins the Jags were one up and holding them comfortabley. Then disaster struck, goalkeeper Andrews got battered by an Ayr battering ram and had to be substituted. Unfortunately, with no GK on the bench, it was panic time. Put a centre half in nets, shouted my special guest from Queens Park, manager Grant Martin and defend like hell!

20 mins of torture and trying to hit Ayr on the break, massive time wasting, and long ball football later, the Jags had secured the three points and were on the way to the playoffs with a final position of third in the league. The down side, Andrews out for two months and star midfielder, that eastern european bloke whose name I can never get right (shades of Bobby Robson) suspended for two games.

Kenny Arthur stepped into the breach for the first leg against Stenny, and despite dominating the game, having 13 shots to their two, the Jags contrived to lose the game 1-0. Was not looking good for the second leg away from home. Again from start to finish, the JAgs dominated and having taken the lead to pull the tie level, immediately conceded to give Stenny the advantage. Early in the 2nd half, the Jags score again, and it ais all set up for a barnstorming finish. Stenny throw the kitchen sink into the mix and with ten minutes to go Arthur comes for a cross and misses, Stenny equalise on the night and take the lead on away goals. The last ten minutes faded away, as the heads went down, and the Jags tumbled out of the play-offs bemoaning the lack of a quality finisher.

After the match, manager Martin was quaoted as saying, "I'll be off on holiday now, but I promise the Jags fans that there will be some new faces in the summer to excite them and take this team onwards."

Games from 11th November to End of Season. Sorry

1st Game against Cowdenbeath with new manager Ivan Away

Scottish Cup 1st Round

The game didn’t have the best of starts and the entire first half was incredibly boring so manager almost forgot it was half time.

The second half was better with Little getting a chance but missing it. Unfortunately Cowdenbeath were getting many chances but Pedersen and the defence coping very well.

Full time it was 0-0.

2nd Game against Cowdenbeath again but at home

Scottish Cup Replay

The game starts bright for both teams with QP getting some chances. Little, over the bar, they miss, they score, McColligan wide and so QP were rather unlucky not to be ahead.

So, we were 1-0 down going into 2nd half and it started brightly but Reynolds could only hit the post. After a change of formation, Queens Park were getting chance after chance after chance but just couldn’t score so the game finished 1-0 to Cowdenbeath.

3rd Game against Elgin away

This game was dreadful. Long story short, 2-0 down at half time, I lose 4-0. I will not say anymore.

4th Game against Arbroath at home

This game brought out a much better performance in the Spiders. Unfortunately, Fergus Martin had just left Arbroath and I was left to play a manager-less team.

So the game begun and the Spiders were under heavy pressure from the start. But there was some light as Strachan hits the post.

But the pressure just continued until the second half when Winter heads it wide and then Ramsay scores his only goal before leaving to Albion Rovers. This was followed by an absolute scorcher of a goal from Lewis as he puts in the net from 30 yards.

At full time it was 2-0 Queens Park.

5th Game against Forfar at Home

Once again, Queens Park played really well. It started with a disallowed goal in the 20th minute unfortunately. Queens Park take it to Forfar all half but to no avail. Their keeper having game of his life!

Starts just as first half finished but instead Forfar get a chance and score what is their only shot of the game! I had so many opportunities but just couldn’t score.

At full time it was 1-0 Forfar.

I then went on holiday for two weeks so assistant manager was in charge.

1st Game against Cowdenbeath away since I was on holiday

This game was in general very, very dull. Despite Pedersen making many good saves they are still able to get a goal, a tap-in to be precise and that was all that happened during the game.

At full time it was 1-0 Cowdenbeath.

2nd Game against East Fife at Home

From the first whistle of the game, Queens Park were under pressure but Pedersen was once again playing very well but it can’t stay like that forever. In the 38th minute Queens Park go 1-0 down and that was the score at half time.

It just got worse for Queens Park as in the 57th minute East Fife scored again and after that, the Spiders begin to play scoring in the 88th minute but it was just too late.

At least it we were putting up a fight towards the end of the game.

At full time it was 2-1 East Fife.

3rd Game against Albion Rovers away

The game started with a goal exactly the same as the first goal in the champions league final with a deflection from a freekick. So Queens Park were 1-0 down. The Spiders pressurise for the last 20 mins of first half but don’t get anything at all.

After some words of passion and amazement from the manager, Queens Park were geared up for the second half and McNaught gets his first game of the season to equalise in the 66th minute. Rory Montgomery, Spiders’ newest signing puts them in front with a belter for his first ever goal for Queens Park.

Queens Park cruised, defending well and creating chances until the 91st minute when Albion sneaks in an equaliser to the annoyance of me.

At full time it was 2-2.

The last 10 games of the season

1st game against Dumbarton at Home

The first half was very good from a Queens Park fan’s point of view with a very good, attacking display of football. We were the better side for the first half but we just couldn’t get the breakthrough that we should’ve had.

Dumbarton started much better in the second half and had a couple of chances but Pedersen and my defence were playing very well. In general, the second half was very boring and nothing happened.

At full time it was 0-0.

2nd game against Cowdenbeath at Home

Queens Park get off to a flying start with a goal in the 7th minute from Lewis. From then on we got chances but we couldn’t score. With their first shot of the game, Cowdenbeath equalise in the 21st minute. 5 minutes from half time, Little makes an amazing run and gets on the end of a pass and scores! But it was offside. Still, it was a confidence boost for Queens Park. It was a good first half and Queens Park had the confidence to win.

The second half started really well for Spiders as Young misses a sitter, Lewis puts it over and Montgomery puts it over. We were piling on the pressure. Almost went 2-1 down. In the last 10 minutes, we got a penalty which Strachan calmly puts it away.

Queens Park really should’ve had a bigger win.

At full time it was 2-1 Queens Park.

3rd Game against East Fife away

Great start for Spiders as Young gets sent off in the 5th minute for elbowing someone and East Fife were 1 up after 10 minutes but the half was rather boring apart from when East Fife went 2-0 up from a deflection in the 42nd minute. The first half display could’ve been different if Young hadn’t got sent off.

First half hour of second half was very boring and the only highlight was when Little missed. In the last 10 minutes we had a disallowed goal and Donald missed. The second half performance was much better so losing only 2-0 was about as good as it could get on the circumstances.

4th Game against Albion Rovers at Home

A very good performance all round from the Spiders with an early chance that went wide, a freekick goal form Strachan and another goal from McNaught. Little almost gets on the scoresheet himself but keeper got to the ball first.

In the second half it was very similar as Lewis puts the ball high and wide, Pedersen makes many good saves, they start pressurising but to no avail and the Spiders hope they can finish the season this way.

At full time it was 2-0 Queens Park.

5th Game against Peterhead away

This was a crucial game for Queens Park as Peterhead were 2nd in the league before the game.

A very good defensive performance was shown as although they dominated, Queens Park were 1-0 up at half time from a Strachan penalty and we had a disallowed goal just before half time.

A good performance was still required to do a professional job on Peterhead and it was delivered with a goal from Lombardi on his debut in the 78th minute. During the last 10 minutes, they had a miss but also scored but it didn’t help them at all.

At full time it was 2-1 Queens Park. A fantastic result.

6th Game against Arbroath at home

It was a disappointing start as we went 1-0 down in the first minute. The rest of the game went by with about as much excitement as paint drying. Borrrrring.

At full time it was 1-0 Arbroath.

7th Game against Dumbarton away

This was a very good game with a lot of action. From the very start it was end to end but Dumbarton make the breakthrough. 1 down after 19 minutes. Shortly after they put a shot over the bar but Little equalises for Spiders after 28 minutes. Then, Little puts another shot over the bar but they then score and we are 2-1 down on 35 minutes. 3 minutes later they get another goal. 3-1 down and it doesn’t look good for Queens Park. Hope comes when Little scores another goal just before half time and it is 3-2 to Dumbarton at half time.

The second half starts very exciting as Little just puts the ball over from 30 yards and Pedersen makes a good save but it then dulls down for about 15 minutes until Little secures his hat-trick in the 71st minute. What a comeback for Queens Park!! From then on, Spiders looked for a draw and was well on their way to securing it when Dumbarton score at 89 minutes.

Despite an amazing comeback, the full time score was 4-3 to Dumbarton.

8th Game against Elgin away

Despite last week’s loss, Queens Park were very confident and start very well. Lombardi puts one wide, a cross is collected by the keeper and Pedersen makes a good save. On the 38th minute, Little scores to put Spiders 1-0 up and Lombardi almost makes it 2-0 but doesn’t.

The second half started quite good as Lombardi gets on the scoresheet making it 2-0 Queens Park. At the 71st minute Elgin get a red card but still manage to get a goal in the 73rd minute. McNaught puts it over the bar shortly afterwards. Somehow, in the 83rd minute, they got an equaliser and Queens Park walk away wondering how they did not win.

After a disappointing second half, the full time score was 2-2. Queens Park should’ve won.

9th Game against Forfar at Home

The first was extremely boring but Mclean put the ball over and got a yellow card. At half time it was 0-0.

I then received a phone call from the local hospital saying my best friend was hit by a van and needed someone there so I decided to go and visit him. I have since been informed the game finished 1-1.

Last Game of the Season against Montrose away

If Queens Park could win they would be able to move up the table to about 6th or 7th.

The first half started ok with an early chance bbut Montrose got a goal on the 11th minute and another on the 20th. Things looked bleak for the Spiders. Just before the end of the first half they scored another and the game was as good as over. 3-0 Montrose at half.

Hopefully the second half wouldn’t be as rubbish as the first half.

But instead it was as boring as the Arbroath game with about 2 chances the entire half and no goals at all.

At full time it was 3-0 Montrose

So the season ends and Queens Park have performed better under Grant Martin than their previous manager. They finished in 9th position with 43 points rather then 10th with 19 points.

Complicated this time. Paul C, Polo, And Mark all made three predictions correctly, however, since both Paul and Mark were two of three, who made a predication, I have decided that the winner would be based on the votes cast for the majority of teams.

It has been announced today that Alloa manager Paul Carey has been placed on gardening leave by the Scottish division 3 team. In an interview outside his home in Cardiff, Carey had this too say I can't say im surprised, it's been coming. I will use this opportunity to finish my studies and be back to lead Alloa to a new era soon enough. It is rumoured Carey will be away for around 3 weeks.

Season under way and 2 wins at pittodrie give 33/1 Aberdeen a good start the only disapointment came in the away game at easter road where hibs found the net nearly with every shot as Aberdeen went down 5-0 a win over the champions 2-0 at Pittodrie was enough to put the smile back on the managers face though

Well, new season starts, three games played, two defeats (both to clan members) and a cup win. Next up, Cup match against a clan member. This division is going to be the most entertaining as 5 of ten teams in this division are managed by members of the clan! So expect some serious banter on game night.

An injury ravaged pre-season has played havoc with the careful preparation being done at Firhill Park in order to live up to their billing as pre-season favourites for the title.

Predictions

Scottish Premier League

Aberdeen-Me

Scottish cup winners last year and pulled off the basement to 8th postion just missing out on a top 6 place when split happened smaller budget than last year and priced at 33/1 for title i think another good cup run and prob bottom half of top6 1 tie away from uefa cup groups but might be 1 tie to many

Prediction 4th-6th

Septic-Nick

Won title in first year under nick gers apointment of Steve mclaren can only make this team stronger will obviously be a top 2 team would love to say 2nd but fear the worst

Prediction not as low as i would like

Scots Division 2

Cowdenbeath-Ivan

Started of well in clan and this season.will be up there challanging and should at least be playoff bound

Prediction 4th

Queen of the South-Seery

Dont know if they have what it takes for the automatic spot but will be involved in playoffs

Prediction 3rd

Brechin-Mark B

Will possibly have a lot to say in who finnishes where in the league but i think will just miss out on playoffs this season but will be looking to build for next season

Prediction 5th

Arbroath-Tracy

Will be happy to survive in division 2 this season but will not only survive but will challange for playoff spot back to back promotions could not be ruled out but mid tabled safety is a better bet
