Plug and Play Preset Tactic

Hi all I love playing Football Manager but useless at creating tactics!

Can you be successful using just one preset tactic through out an entire save without tweaking roles etc.

Are all presets and styles good enough to use as they are?

Can this be achieved using a non league team and taking them to the top division in their country?

From my testing, some of the preset tactics recreate the desired style well enough but don't provide very good results,  namely the wing play preset.

Vertical tiki taka, gegenpress, and fluid counter attack seem to be the best.

I had a blast with Wing Play 4-4-2, I did tweak it a bit and was using at level 9 or something with Cadbury Athletic

I used it for two seasons in the VNN but it was so hit and miss

I used 442 wing play with Birmingham City and it has worked really well for me, although I did change a few things here or there.
