Warg92 Posted November 8, 2022 Share Posted November 8, 2022 Another year, another FM, another save! This time I will be managing in a country I've never managed in before, that being Luxembourg. The team I've gone with is FC Kiischpelt Wilwerwiltz (the name is spelled wrong in-game), a team in the fifth tier of the Luxembourgish football system. We have a gigantic football stadium, housing 100 people! That was the main reason for going with this team to be honest. The aim for the save is to take my team to the top of the best league in Luxembourg (Luxembourg National Division) using only products from the youth intakes. Long term I will hopefully develop Luxembourgish football, so that the national team will be a powerhouse in world football, but we have a loooooong way to go for that to be the reality. I real life this is how the table is looking at the moment So, in real life FC Kiischpelt Wilwerwiltz is dead last in the lowest league of Luxembourg. I have a big job ahead of me. Manager This handsome gentleman will be "me" this year. As always I start with no badges and no football experience of any note. We currently have no coaches, physios, or any staff for that matter, so that will be the first piece of business for me to handle. This can only improve as well. Squad This is how we start the save. I have no idea if this is how the squad will be when the first game of the season arrives, as someone wants Dany da Mota already. We have no U18 team, so this is all the players at the club. Key Players The three best players at the moment, let's just see if these guys are here at the start of the season. Season Goals The season goal is for us to not finish last. Something that we should be able the do. We're predicted 4th in the season preview. If we finish there I will be happy! The database can be found HERE! But the game we won was against a team in the league above us, so that is good I guess. Started the league with a draw, I have no idea if thats a good result or not to be honest, but one point is one point! We are through in both the cups as well, beating teams from our league. We're already struggling with a small squad, as I have used a few gray players in these games! We're knocked out of both the cups as well, that is not a surprise however, as we faced a team from the second tier (Canach) and one from the third tier (Useldange). Warg92 Posted November 8, 2022 Author Share Posted November 8, 2022 Youth Intake 2023 After that very positive youth intake preview I had high hopes! I have to admit I am disappointed. I know all the players have 5* potential, but that's not really a unusual thing the first intake. No players that will strengthen us at the moment, and the personalities are beyond horrible! Another problem I have is that we have no youth team, so all the players will go in to the senior squad right away. We actually finished fourth, exactly the same position as we were predicted to finish before the season started. By taking a quick look at the team we beat in the playoff I realised they only had one good player. He was rated 5*, but the rest of the team is 0.5*. Good for us I guess! In other news, one of our three best players, Anis Adrovic, has plans to retire. I have asked him to continue for one more year, but as I am writing this he has not decided yet. We're making bank! We're not predicted to finish last, and that is a bit of a surprise to me, as I feel we will struggle this season. The odds are not in our favour either way, and we have to at our best to survive. We beat US Rambrouch, as they look doomed at the bottom of the table. We lost the Cup game against Young Boys Diekirch, a team in the league above us. Not only do we have a couple of players that will go straight in to the starting XI, but we there are some good personalities here as well. The best sorted by CA. Without that horrible run mid season we should/could have been promoted. I know we overperformed this season, but I'm still gutted that we lost the promotion on penalties. Avenir Beggen is the closest we come to a fallen "giant" in this save, as they played in the top division in the 08/09 season, and from there everything has been going downhill! I removed Get Stuck In from the tactic I am using, and we did not get the same amount of suspended players this season, so the best players did not miss half the games like they did last year. I hope Green Boys will win promotion, as I like having them in the league, the only reason being their name Player of the Season Best XI 2024/2025 Best Overall XI We're turning Semi-pro. Only Stade de Luxembourg, the national stadium, and Stade Du Thillenberg, the FC Differdange 03 stadium is bigger. *edit* No wait, there is one even bigger! Stade Municipal Oberkorn is the biggest, with a 10k capacity. They play in the fifth tier, the league we started in! Warg92 Posted November 9, 2022 Author Share Posted November 9, 2022 Pre Season 2025/2026 The biggest result this pre season was against Dudelange, a team that won the top league in the 2021/2022 Season. Even though it's only a friendly I am really happy with that result. This will be out toughest season yet. We will probably be around the bottom of the league at the end of the season, let's just hope we're not rock bottom! In other news, Luxembourg has their first full time Professional team (in this save at least) in FC Swift Hesperange. They won the league in 2022/2023 and the 2023/2024 seasons.
