It looks like the defender is marking nr 7 (Ronaldo) which drags him out of position, but your right back should have taken over and let the center defender stayed where he’s suppose to stay. I have seen this happening if you are marking a playing using the PI, but in this example there’s no logical play for the defender.

I've often found issues with the defenders taking far too long to turn when a through ball has been played, but from the screenshots they look like you're being countered.

Should add this too.  Defenders hanging outside the box, despite there being no reason to. Lindelof(RCB) and Wan-Bissaka(RFB) are camped on the edge of the are. Maguire(LCB) is the number five next to Che Adams and the actual full back for the left is Telles who is the number 27 next to Fred. Why is he there? This was a persistent attack and the ball was cleared, so there was no actual counter attacking threat. It just looks like my players have no idea where they are supposed to be. The entire box has barely a single player in an area of importance. It is all very erratic. 

If you look at the edge of the box, it looks like Pogba is going to be running past Lindelof to back to defend, while Lindelof has no interest in getting back at all.

FM 2021 has an increase on middle play and through balls. However, the defenders does a very bad play, leaving huge gaps on their backs. I think this is an issue and SI should look at it.
