Two very good prospects, though I think we've got about five 5* PA goalkeepers now! Will need to decide whether to adapt to include a DM now or re-train Greene

Back into the Premier League :D

We conceded an injury time goal to draw our final game and drop down to 2nd so I would have been gutted if we didn't win the play-offs. We dispatched Bray and UCD to do so.

Forget O'Keeffe, this season was all about Mark Byrne. His goalscoring record was phenominal!!

Not as exciting as previous intakes, but 3 players I like the look of.

Morrisey's stats are well rounded for him to be a wing back of the future first team.

Another right back, but I like his mental attributes and he can crunch a tackle!

My personal favourite, Fagan puts the box in box-to-box!

Overall a solid season back in the top flight, securing our best ever finish in 7th place.

League Table

Cork won the league convincingly, meaning that since the beginning of this save they've won the league 3 times, as have Dundalk, while Sligo have one title win. Longford were the whipping boys of the league, as is often the case with newly promoted semi-pro sides against the might of the full-timers.

We dabbled with different tactics but ended up back with the 4-2-4 we finished with last season. Our front 4 of Byrne, Daly, Hayes and Clucas all got into double figures.

End of an Era

The last two of the original squad will be leaving us at the end of the season to make way for the younger generation. McGuinness has been a rock between the sticks while club icon Clucas has gone from regular top scorer to provider on the wing.

You can see why the chairman is selling willy-nilly. We're fecked.

I'm in a similar financial predicament. I started as an unemployed nobody in Italy. Took the job at Milano City, as it was the only one available. Serie D. At the beginning there are players on between 150-300 quid a week. I thought nothing of it at first. I was under my wage budget and had even lowered it by selling a few players and bringing in no-wage loan players. Checked the finances out and we are heading towards the cliff edge at an alarming rate. I don't think there is enough money to pay any players weekly wages. What I have been doing with signings is offering them a contract based on bonuses. Very modest fees. But unless I sell the players who were here originally and get them off the wage bill, we will be hurtling towards administration. The window is closed and I have started the league season well. I might give it everything to get up to Serie C and see if that changes anything. I wish the club was originally set-up to live within its means.

Yeah definitely experienced that in other leagues, including Italy! Our biggest money burner here is our youth setup, varying between £10k and £50k a month - player wages are nowhere near those levels. Bit of a catch 22 in a youth only save - need to pump in money to get better intakes but it's bankrupting the club!

At the halfway point we're performing well above expectations - the highlight being a 6-1 away thumping of Shamrock Rovers!

Another decent intake with a couple of players who are ready for first team action.

Holland was the HOYD's pick of the nunch and with great finishing, movement and pace it's clear to see why. He could be making a big impact in the near future.

We're lacking in quality in the CM department so it's great to get in an all rounder like McSweeney. He'll be straight into the squad and likely to make a few start before the end of the season.

German-born Thee could make it as a decent centre back, though his jumping reach is worrying despite being 6ft.

Our form has leveled out a bit and we're nothing more than real outside contenders with 5 games left. Cork and Shamrock look to battle it out with a double header - could the title finally be coming Dublin's way?

We didn't managed to challenge for the league but that doesn't take away from what was a great season for the club. For the first time we looked capable of upsetting the big teams (not entirely sure how match of the season is calculated because we won 6-1 away at Shamrock!).

League Table

For the first time in 13 years the title ends in the hands of a Dublin side! At the other end, Bohemian end up relegated for the first time in their history leaving just St Pat as the only side never to be relegated. We rely on Dundalk beating UCD in the Irish Cup final in order to qualify for Europe.
