I get the real life reason for tweaking game features. But in terms of real life, how many unknown 27 year old people called Dave Smith with no footballing experience can take over the Brazil National Team, or lead Staines to a decade of champions league wins. The whole game is built around a certain degree of disbelief and controlling the reserves seems within the sphere for me, even if it required a separate manager to do it.
