DiscoStu94
yessss!!Arsenal win and top of the league again!! And there to stay Anyhoo, the prblem with getting Bojan and Santos, is that I have no space! Dos Santos, maybe, because Walcott can't take over from Hleb once the time comes. But Bojan? I already have Aguero and Eduardo for his position, as well as Saivet and Vela in the reserves. I'm think I should get rid of Eduardo, he only got 6 goals last season (and still got into the best XI?), and then bring Bojan in.
cameron Fordyce
stu, bojan will get alot better than eduardo and with saivet and vela u will have the perfect 4 strikers which will do the club for 6 plus years with easy. as for dos santos he will become better than walcott and can play very well on the right or left. cameron Fordyce
ok coming to the business end of the season 6 points clear in the league, just had aguero injured for 4 months (broken foot) the only way AC Milan known how to stop him still won 4-1 (7-1 agg) knock out stage in champions league. bought banega a while ago (not developed to the player he should be) so he has been in my reserves and started to get a few games due to Lucas being out with arthritis (hes 25 years old ) my phsyo keeps telling me he will be out for 2 weeks but i am 3 months into the injury and still no real sign of him coming back. just wonder what strange injurys you guys have suffered with your game? James Tringham
This is my current side, in August 2008. I've just beaten chelski in the Charity Shield and won my first Prem match of the season. I'm pretty happy with the players, but I have gone overboard in signing people. So are there any improvements to be made, and who can I sell off to trim the squad down? When I was Sunderland I said I wanted 50 mil for Gordon, Arsenal came in with 35 and Quinn accepted. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Guest old_skoolr
Just thought I'd chuck my team in and c wat u guys think. I'm about to start my 4th season and I've won everything xcept the champions league GK:Ochoa, Fabiankski (surprisingly good, but just cant get a game) Lehmann retiring in a couple of days DR: Eboue (who i also play AMR) and Sagna DC: Gallas, Toure, Felipe (absolute star), David Luiz DL: Traore MC: Fabregas (who i trained to play AMC), Denilson, Diaby AMR: Hleb, Ninis (has become my crucial goalscorer) AML: Rosicky, Walcott AMC: Lulinha (BARGAIN OF THE CENTURY, GET HIM NOW!!!!) SC: Van Persie (top assists this year), Adebayor (top scorer) , Vela, Bendtner I'm thinking of buying rosina as he is a star player but very expensive. At the start of the game torino ask 4 30 mill yet now he has moved to fiorentina, there asking for 45 mill pounds. He is a great player and when i bought in my other file he quickly took the stage and reminded of pires in cm4 just dribbling and scoring.

James Tringham
The obvious ML is Menez, who is about £11m. Or you could move Marcelo forwards and bring in a DL. Modric does well for about £7.5m, and can play anywhere in midfield. Or splash cash on Maxi Rodriguez, who is about £15m. Within the 4-4-2 system, how have you actually got them playing? My problem is always trying to stop them conceding, rather than scoring.
Guest Quivver
Season 1 with the Gunner was a phenomenal success with both the Premier league title and the European Champions league cup in the bag. The team didn't fare too well in the domestic competitions but that's basically because I fielded B teams in both competitions (yeah, I know -- it's a sin to overlook the FA Cup, but it seemed reasonable given the number of young players I wanted to blood). These are the following players I picked up in the first season: Transfers in: 1) Henri Saviet 2) Brazagli 3) Ever Benega (loaned to a Belgium affiliate) 4) Jimmy Briand Transfers out: 1) Flamini 2) Hleb I play a 4-1-2-2-1 which has yeilded bucket loads of goals. In fact the first season I won the league with 4 games to spare with Chelsea a distance second by more then 20 points. The team also thrashed Man Utd at Old Trafford by 7 goals in the champs league semi finals (if ppl want screenshots to prove this I'll be more then happy to provide them). I'm not currently at my home computer so I can't offer proof of my first season succes, but I didn't use a editor or cheat in any way other then buy a few, well known young players to make an already steller young Gunner squad even better. cameron Fordyce
i know player can curl the ball but put back spin on it? im my game i finished the 5th season with winning all the competition for the 3rd season in a row the team is too strong now, my champions league team was second choice line up and they still won with out really being challenged. i got to 2013 and there is still no real regens in my game and fabregas is getting upset and wants to leave (so does lucas). does anyone else have the problem of fabregas wanting to leave in 2012-13? it always seems to happen even from FM06. so i have decided to go back to my FM06 game (2013) since i have developed a large number of regens and fabregas has only left a couple of months a go. DiscoStu94
1) Ochoa got a work permit on appeal in the second season for me. 2) Strange, I always seem to get him when I aproach him. theincrediblehulk
For Saivet, if you just offer him a "backup" role at the start and give him a bit more money than he asks for, he'll definitely come. When they accept your offer, just give him everything he wants and a bit more. Also, give him a backup or rotation role and I'm sure he'll come. Out of the 4 you've mentioned, I'd let Diaby go as he never really becomes that great. And yeah, Senderos isnt that great. I gave him intense training on aerobics for 2 seasons once and he upped his pace & acceleration to 12 eventually. Once he's got decent pace, he becomes awesome. But yeah, it takes too much of an effort. Sell him but I wouldnt recommened Garay. He's not that great. People just seem to love him because he can take FK's too. Zapata is 10 times better than Garay. Go for Zapata. Will cost more but very worth it. Else get Micah Richards.
Localbloke
I've received a bid for Denilson - £27mil + 20% sell on clause, but look at him. cameron Fordyce
local, sell denilson he is a very good player and the perfect cover for fabregas but that is a great price for him and moutinho is good enough to cover fabregas.
theincrediblehulk
I wouldnt sell Denilson. He's a class player and is excellent as CM and DM both. He's better than Moutinho imo and he gives you the "home-grown" player option when playing in the CL.
max05
local, how did you get Denilson to be so good? His creativity for me has never passed 17. Still, I would sell him cause Moutinho is a better player than him.
cameron Fordyce
just entering the 6th season had some major changes got fabregas to stay with arsenal had to make him captain which seriously upset toure (captain for 4 years). had to sell toure got £16mill for him 31yr old. lucas also wanted to leave felt he achieved everything he can at the club, pity since he was just about to take de rossi's place as first choice DM, atleast i got 20mill for him from pompey (i really dont want to face them they are building up a very strong team). also sold Kroos and Zeefuik who where reserve players for me and could not make the step up. i had to buy back Djourou to fill the gap from toure and Sunny for lucas. sunny cost 8 mill and Djourou (11mill by back). also loaned out Traore to newcastle and kenia to espanyol to get them to play a full season worth of games and develop abit more. just trying at present to get Bouzanis out on loan since he his stuck in my reserves and looks like a player for the future but not getting the matches (behind Akinfeev and Ustari). also trying to develop Baxter into a CM as cover for fabregas but he is just lacking his physical attributes. is anyone else having problems with baxter's physical attributes. key areas for this season will be to get a player who can cover fabregas when injured or he does finally leave, pick a first choice keeper since i cant seem to pick between akinfeev and Ustari, get sunny use to the quick style the team plays finally sell Zlatan (30) and Barzagli (31) my team (2012) GK: Akinfeev, Ustari, Bouzanis LB: Criscito CB: Barzagli, Zapata, Djourou, Kompany, RB: Alves, Richards DM: De Rossi, Sunny CM: Fabregas, Banega, Baxter LM: Sliva, Dos Santos RM: Messi, Fernandez ST: Aguero, Vela, Bojan, Saivet, Zlatan on loan: Kenia, Traore. my wide players are getting 60 plus goals a season and 60 plus assists. another question for people who are using saivet has anyone got him to get a good level of composure (he got 13 for composure its the lowest in my squad)
theincrediblehulk
Good squad that. Out of Akinfeev and Ustari, I'd rather keep Akinfeev. I feel he's a little more consistent but there's hardly any difference between the two tbh. Just see who can fetch you a better price and sell that one. Bouzanis becomes very good. You definitely need to get rid of one CB atleast. And dont get anyone in as you have plenty of cover there. I'd look at getting a LB though. Someone better than Crisicto. He's good defensively but rubbish going forward. Why are you loaning out Traore though?? 2012, he should be awesome! I'd keep him and rotate him with Crisctio. Play him in the smaller competitions and matches. He's good enough at the start of the game itself. One or two seasons of 15-20 games/season and he's FB! You dont need to worry about cover for Cesc. When he wants to go, Barca will probably come in with an offer. And he'll probably go there with them being on his favoured clubs list and all. When you negotiate a price with them, just have them include Iniesta and you'll have a perfect replacement. Or just buy Iniesta out-right. Else, look at Moutinho or Michael Johnson as replacement. Nobody can touch Cesc in that role though. Unless you have some great regen coming through. I wouldnt sell Zlatan unless Bojan, Vela & Saivet are fully developed (or close to it anyway). You can get another year out of him and sell him then. As for Saivet, in my previous save, I dont remember exactly what his composure was but I DO know that he was better than Bojan in almost every area when I did a comparison. And I checked on FMM later and Bojan has a higher PA than Saivet. But in my current game, just towards the end of season 1 and his composure does seem really low tbh. Will have to work on that I suppose.

cameron Fordyce
traore is being loaned out since he just needs a full season of games to increase his mental stats, criscito is the best leftback in my game he might not have the pace of traore but mentally only barzagli and terry are better than him and he is great at marking, and last season with him in my premiership team they only conceded 10 goals. i am not going to sell either of my 2 keepers they are just too good. michael johnson in my game never really developed. Ron Burgundy
Hi all, I have put the below thread as a new post - but been told I ought to put it in here...so here goes. Any help well appreciated!! Hello, I'm just starting my first game on FM08 with the only team I ever manage - Arsenal. I have a fairly simple couple of questions for people that've played as Arsenal further into the match as me. I've had £7.5million offer for Denilson, which I have rejected. I want to use him as Cesc's direct backup, CM role in a 4-1-4-1 formation. I have started retraining Diaby to be a straight ball-winning DM. Flamini has been poor in my friendlies in the DM role, and has been by far the worst of my DM's. I have Diarra down as my Carling Cup DM and cover at RB. I have bought Zapater cos I liked the look of his stats and at 22 and £7million seemed a good choice. So, Flamini may well be sold. Diarra will probably spend most of his season in the reserves. Same for Diaby, whilst he retrains as a DM. Zapater is my first choice DM, with Gilberto as back up. And Denilson is Cesc's understudy. So basically, does all that sound about right? Can Denilson be used as Cesc's understudy? Flamini is rubbish on 8.0.1? Diaby can retrain as DM, Zapater is a quality choice? Cheers!!

theincrediblehulk
Aguero is a brilliant striker mate. Just put him upfront with a free role and watch his dance around defences.
