Welshace
A difference to what? If you mean FM.. no not a whole lot... the one you have is more than capable of running FM
Forbsie
I currently have nvidia geforce 9200 but it keeps stuttering through games and procersssing days. But i did a system requirement check and it says my system is more than capable. my local pc shop has ati hd 5450 for £40 and wondered if the stuttering would stop with this card ?
Welshace
It might... no way for me to tell if its the CPU, RAM or GPU causing it from here.. Did you try checking if swapping from GPU to software rendering helps? in preferences? Also.. make sure whatever card you buy is compatible with your motherboard etc.
haunted1234
get at least a GT610 this is like your 10th thread about the same issue.. you gotta check which slots your computer has free, because your computer is so old, its hard to look up online
Leftism
Graphics cards have no impact on how stuttery the game is whilst out of the ME. What you have there is either a lack of processing power or RAM. Most mobile integrated graphics adapters, ones found in standard laptops, are more than powerful enough to run the ME in 3D. Upgrading the graphics card purely for FM seems a tad overkill to me.

Welshace
Sorry, you arent missing anything.. i misread his OP... Either way.. the 9200 is more than capable for FM...
haunted1234
no its not, it scores 80 benchmarks, and cant even play 1080p videos. my laptop has a 300+ benchmark graphic card which is already a 0,5 stars rated in the options... if 300 benchmarks is 0,5 stars, you do the math what his 80 benchmarks are... the whole game should lag.. which it does
Leftism
The integrated card comment was used as a minimum requirement. I was aware that he wasn't using one, I was trying to name the lowest spec card I could that could run FM without naming a particular family or branch. It's hard enough for a PC Gamer to keep track of these graphics cards without being confused as it is.
Welshace
I have a laptop with a worse chip set haunted.. and it runs fine on medium with no stuttering at all...
Leftism
In FM, the graphics card has the minimum amount of influence on the game itself - and the game doesn't "lag", it stutters. Anybody having such troubles with their game should consult the frequency of their CPU and the amount of logical cores it has along with the amount of RAM your PC has - these two components have an exponential amount of influence of the performance of FM. Leftism
I don't see what difference the upgrade will make anyway, if I can say so. You have a trio-core with 2.7GHz per core with, as you say, 3GB of RAM. What has motivated you to seek out an upgrade, anyway?

Welshace
Which certainly suggests it's not a gpu issue.... I wouldn't spend money on upgrading it that's for sure... save up for a new system.

mimland
Not sure what's causing the game stuttering. My brother and I play on pretty much the same computers, his might be a tad more powerful than mine. His game sometimes stutters to the amount that it is impossible to do anything during games, mine runs mostly fine.
scooter28
you know theres a 9200 card, and a 9200 mainboard graphics, he has the 9200 mainboard graphics. Yes m8 its the same system as mine the only difference is that i have 4 gig ram he has 3 and have windows 7 ultimate its an old acer AMD Athlon II X3 425 processor mine is the mainboard graphics aswell but it plays 1080p vids fine and fm without any trouble.Anyway i have said this before on another thread which forbsie made the card cant be changed he needs a whole new system i aint got a clue how its like this for him but its fine here
