The Worst Team in Ireland.

November

Champ - Bolton 0-0 West Brom - Boltons rearguard defend well and keep us out while Wright Philips was a constant threat. Nangis could of won it missing a 1on1 in the 93rd minute but it would of being harsh on Bolton.

Ex. Club Watch: Salthill have retained the Irish Premier League on the 2nd to last day of the season. Almost squandered the lead I'd given them but bounced back well. Well done new manager Alan Murphy.

Champ - West Brom 3-0 Sheffield Wednesday - An early red for Marcao and was it not for the red prob would of being 11-0. Easy win with Nangis ending his drought with a brace.

Champ - Ipswich 0-5 West Brom - A frist half hat trick from Ade set the pace before yet another red card saw us down to 10 yet again. I'm getting sick of fining players, Lopes prepare to face my wrath. Even with ten men we weren't finished and strikes from Dorrans and Boyata eased us to the 3 points.

Another yellow for Carole meant we would be heading to Birmingham without our first choice fullbacks.

Champ - Birmingham 0-2 West Brom - Who else but Ade and Dorrans do the damage as we go 2-0 up inside half an hour and thats how it stayed as we went back to the top of the championship. We have now only conceded 6 goals in 18 league games and haven't bein breached in 850 minutes (thats 14 and a bit hours.) Massive stuff.

Champ - West Brom 2-0 Wolves - Ade on the half hour and hour put us 2 up and despite a Wolves rally we held firm to take the points.

Round Up

A fantastic month where we scored 12 and conceded 0 to push ahead towards the Premier League. Birmingham tasted defeat thrice as we went from 5 points down after Bolton to 4 up as December came about. Ade leads the goal charts with 22 goals in 19 starts.

December 2015

LgCup - West Brom 3-0 Sunderland - Wow, 2 from Ade and one from Long put us 3 up at half time as Sunderland failed to get going. Lost our dmc for a week though.

League Cup Semi Finals

West Brom v Arsenal or Chelsea, Man City v Wolves

Champ - West Brom 1-0 Middlesbrough - Svensson's 70th minute proved decisive against a battling Boro. Its now 1120 minutes since we last conceded in any competition.

Champ - Barnsley 1-3 West Brom - 2 first half goals from Ade put us 2 up before our rearguard wass finally breached on the hour. But Ade completed his hattrick in the 78th minute to restore our cushion.

Champ - West Brom 4-1 Preston - Easy win despite trailing after 5 minutes.

Champ - Watford 1-3 West Brom - Boyata headed us ahead early only for Watford to level on the half hour. Sub Long put us 2-1 up in a tought game in the 75th minute before Ade made the points safe at the death.

Champ - Norwich 1-4 West Brom - Goals from Ade x2, Long and sub Svensson in a game we didn't really get on top till the 80th minute in.

Champ - West Brom 1-0 Bristol City - Dorrans first half goal fires us 11 points clear at the top.

Round Up

A brilliant 2 months sees us pull 11 points clear of 2nd placed Birmingham and the gap to 3rd placed Burnley is now 25 points meaning we're coasting to promotion.

Ade has netted 30 league goals in 25 starts, not bad for a 31 year old.

Arsenal await in the league cup after the beat Chelsea.

January 2016

Transfer News - Frank Fielding and Kermit Erasmus exit the club. Erasmus to Genoa for £5m and Fielding to Espanyol for £2.5m. Steve Von Bergen will be leaving the club at the end of the season, heading to Lille on a free after refusing to sign a new contract.

Incoming to the club were young keepers Lennard Linqvist (£50k), Tim Pecar (£70k) and young midfielder Marko Lloyd (£70k).

FACup - West Brom 6-0 Chesterfield - Easy cup win with goals from Ade, Boyata, putting us 2 up at half time before sub Beric hit a 2nd half hattrick before Long hit our 6th in injury time.

Champ - Wigan 1-2 West Brom - We lost rb Lopes to injury early but goals from Veenboer and Dorrans put us comfortably ahead by the hour mark. Wigan hit back in the 85th minute and threatened to deny us 2 points but we stood strong.

So next up was Arsenal and a league cup semi final. Things didn't go to plan with Ade out with a chest injury and Lopes a broken nose, adding in Schmichael being cup tied and we were down 3 key players but it was a huge opportunity.

LgCupSF 1st leg - West Brom 1-1 Arsenal - Despite being on the backfoot for most the game we clung on with some dogged defending and stole in the lead on the hour through Boyata. Arsenal came back strong and with 15 minutes to go Bendtner got through our tired defence to level. It was advantage Arsenal for the 2nd leg but I felt we got a moral victory whatever they are.

More good news in the shape of we have drawn Doncaster in the FA Cup 4th round. Not a simple draw but not a tough one either.

Champ - West Brom 3-0 Sheffield United - Nangis ends his goal drought with a double, plus one for Beric as we stroll closer to a premier league return.

Champ - Colchester 0-2 West Brom - An og just before halftime and Nangis just after eased us to 3 more points as we stretched 16 points from Birmingham.

Transfer News - Adebayor will join Aston Villa in a £600k deal in June. We had to cash in as he had less than six months on his contract wanted too much and could of signed a pre-contract elsewhere which would of seen us lose him like Von Bergen. Big shame but at least we have him til the end of the season.

LgCup SF 2nd Leg - Arsenal - WestBrom - Joy for West Brom on the half hour as Irish international Long puts us ahead tapping in a rebound. From than on despite Arsenal huffing and puffing we defended well and gave up no real chances as we made the league cup final.

League Cup News - West Brom will play Manchester City after City cruised past Wolves 4-1 on aggregate.

FA Cup Rd4 - Doncaster 0-3 West Brom - Second half goals from from Beric, Cox and Svensson put us into the 5th round of the FA Cup.

Round Up

Another good month as we kick on towards championship glory and also a superb result against Arsenal to put us in the cup final.

February 2016

Champ - West Brom 1-1 Millwall - Nangis put us ahead on the hour but 5 minutes later we conceded a silly goal.

Champ - West Brom 2-0 Southampton - Nangis breaks the deadlock on the half hour. silly red card for Beric allowed the Saints a chance back into the game but they never looked like scoring and Long made the points safe at the death.

Champ - Brighton 0-3 West Brom - Early goal from Long gets us off to a flyer, but on the 1/4 hour Ade is taken off injured. Another from Long and Nangis made the game safe

Champ - QPR 0-3 West Brom - Boyata, Karagounis and a Dorrans penalty in another easy game.

FA Cup Rd5 - West Brom 2-0 Birmingham - Goals from Nangis and Karagounis on the stroke of half time put us through quite comfortably.

Champ - West Brom 2-1 Derby - Long again was the difference in this one. opening the scoring and setting up Karagounis for the second. Derby did pull one back but never threatened an equaliser.

After only 33 games we are already guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. We lead 3rd place Wolves by 34 points with 39 to play for.

League Cup Final - West Brom vs Man City

Little old West Brom took to the pitch against star studded City in a real David v Goliath clash. City suprisinly left out Aguero and started with mad Mario up front.

4 min - Silva should of put City ahead but blazed wide.

15 - We had 2 good chances and a corner of our own.

20 - Marcao's shot is saved.

23 - Adebayor puts us 1 up after Longs pass. 1-0 West Brom

45 - We hold firm and City struggle to break us down

HT - We lead 1-0.

46 - City start strongly and Balotelli blazes wide.

74 - Disaster from our throw De Jong wins and plays the ball through to a clearly offside Balotelli who slots home with no flag forthcoming. 1-1

76 - We hit back and only a great stop from Hart denies Adebayor.

89 - City go close from a corner.

FT - 1-1 but we have performed magnificantly and deserve to have the trophy.

91 - Long gets in but misses while 1 on 1

120- Penalites with City to go first.

Shootout

Modric misses - 0-0

Marcao scores - 1-0 West Brom

Milner scores - 1-1

Adebayor scores - 2-1 West Brom

Nasri scores - 2-2

Lloyd scores - 3-2 West Brom

Balotelli misses - 3-2 West Brom

Long scores - 4-2 West Brom

West Brom have won the Carling Cup beating giants Manchester City in the final.

RoundUp

Absolutely brilliant as I have won my first trophy at the Hawthorns and we have a 15 point cushion in the Championship with a game in hand. Things couldn't be going better at the Albion.

March 2016

Champ - Leicester 0-1 West Brom - Tough tie and the hosts bossed us for the entire game but in the end our mean defence stood strong and who else but Ade stole the winner.

Champ - West Brom 1-0 Portsmouth - Tough defending Pompey stifled us for 43 minutes but we hit the front whn Williams headed on Lopes throw and Ade scored his 40th of the campaign. Second half was more of the same with Pompey never even attempting to attack.

West Brom have being promoted to the premier league with 11 league games remaining as the gap to 3rd placed Woves is now 36 points and we have a game in hand. Gap to Birmingham who have played a game more than us is 17 points so the title shouldn't be too far away.

Champ - Burnley 0-0 West Brom - Poor game by both sides. We bossed it but were very toothless. Hope this team don't think the season is over already.

FACup Last8 - Tottenham 2-3 West Brom - We started brilliantly and Dorrans lob put us ahead on 7, but Spurs seemed to wake up after this and hit back strongly, a mistake by Boyata let it Yarmolenko who Boyata than pulled back. Lucky not to walk but Yarmo dispatched the penalty to level the tie. The game ebbed and flowed but yet again we showed our resiliance, Ade slotting home Marcao's pull back. 10 minutes after the break Long put us 3-1 up only for Spurs to hit back through Rodriguez a minute later. Thats how it remained as we advanced to the semi's of the Fa Cup and our 2nd Wembley trip this season.

FA Cup - We will face the winner of Arsenal and MK Dons in the FA Cup semi's after they drew at the Emirates.

Champ - Sheffield Wednesday 3-5 West Brom - We fell behind to Anderson in the 8th minute but hit back straight from kickoff through Beric. 2-1 after 15 minutes thanks to Ade but it was 2-2 when we got corner banged on 20. After the game settled down Beric put us 3-2 up on the hour mark and a fantastic Ade lob made it 4 10 minutes later. In a game that was going to fast for me to type this Ade completed his hattrick on 75 and Wednesday reduced the deficit to 2 in the 78th minute. Thankfully with that the scoring was done despite chances still coming thick and fast as we got the 3 points in the game of the season so far.

We have set a new club unbeaten record which stands at 36 games.

Champ - Wolves 5-4 West Brom - Another mental game. 1-0 up through Nangis after 5 minutes quickly turned to 2-1 down after 15. Wolves scored again after 25 but Ade gave us hope just before half time. Velikonja completed a hattrick for 4-2 a minute after the break. Ade again put us back in contention after 55 minutes and Boyata made it 4-4 after 65. Berra headed Wolves ahead again after 70. Nangis wasted to guilt edged chances to earn us a point but Wolves held on to allow Birmingham to close the gap at the top to 9 points (although we do have 2 games in hand.)

Champ - West Brom 5-0 Ipswich - We took our anger at the Wolves game out on Ipswich, goals from Nangis x2, Rhys Williams, Svensson and Long in a crushing return to form.

Next up a Birmingham side who we lead by 11 points with 7 to play, they only have 5. A win would give us the title while a draw and we'd be 99.99999999999% there thanks to goal difference.

April 2016

Champ - West Brom 3-0 Birmingham - We started the game brilliantly but yet another Lopes red card got in the way of our best laid plans after only 7 minutes. Despite this we continued to hold our own and 5 minutes after half time Nangis put us ahead after good work from Carole. Great play from Lloyd and Ade put in Nangis for his second and the title on 70, before Adebayor quickly added a third.

So with the title in the bag it was time to relax in the league and now switch all our focus to the FA Cup, with 6 league games to go it felt like a good time to blood some youth and some of my newer signings.

Champ - West Brom 3-0 Bolton - First half goals from Karagounis, Long and Beric killed the game early. Not bad for a team that rested 8 first teamers.

Champ - West Brom 3-1 MK Dons - Marcao, Beric, Nangis ease us 3 up, before Mensah hit a consolation for the Dons.

MK Dons have stunned Arsenal in the FA Cup. What luck. We face the Dons at Wembley and now have a great chance of making the FA Cup Final.

FA Cup Semi-Final - MK Dons 0-2 West Brom - It took till the 65th minute to break down the stubborn Dons. Long heading in Nangis cross. A second from Svensson settled all doubts and we were in the FA Cup Final.

More good news, in a season of shocks QPR have beaten Manchester United in the other FA Cup semi final. Giving us an all championship final. What a mental season and luckily Im the one benefiting.

Champ - West Brom 6-2 Barnsley - We cruised to 4-0 up through Karagounis, Beric, Williams and Nangis. Barnsley pulled one back before Karagounis put us 5-1 up. Another sloppy piece of defending saw it go to 5-2 before Kara's hat trick rounded off the scoring.

Champ - Preston 0-2 West Brom - Goals from Long and Williams in a comfy win.

Champ - Middlesbrough 2-4 West Brom - Nangis and Ade put us 2 up at halftime. Ade's second ends the tie before Boro pull one back. Yet another from 2nd choice rb Williams makes it 4-1 on the hour but Boro hit back a minute later and on 70 Adebayor recieves his marching orders. We shut up shop and coasted to a 4-2.

May 2016

Champ - West Brom 3-1 Watford - Final game of the season started like a dream through Nangis. Nangis 2nd doubled our lead at half time. We took our foot off the gas in the 2nd and Watford hit back 10 minutes from time but that just woke us up and just a minute later Long restored our 2 goal advantage.

FA Cup Final - West Brom vs QPR

A 2 game extension to his ban meant Adebayor would miss the cup final and had played his last game for us. A pity after that his amazing season had ended like this and he never got his send off but thats his own doing. Other than that only younster Sten Cairo was out and we had our best players to choose from.

1min - Inside 36 seconds, Long breaks away and feeds Nangis - 1-0 West Brom

7min - Captain Dorrans doubles the lead as we cut through Rangers like a hot knife through butter. 2-0 West Brom

21mn - Beric has a goal ruled out for offside.

25mn - Nangis breaks and scores again. 3-0 West Brom

38mn - Beric ends the tie from a corner. 4-0 West Brom

HT - We have one hand on the FA Cup after an incredible first half performance.

53mn - Another for Beric as we go goal crazy. 5-0 West Brom

FT - West Brom celebrate the FA Cup after thrashing QPR at Wembley.

What an incredible 9 weeks to round off an amazing season!!!!!!!

Season Round Up - 2015-16 - West Brom

N-Power Championship

We started strong and pulled away from Birmingham at the midway point. We than cantered to promotion and the league title with some jaw dropping performances and amazing football. Ade and Dorrans were absolutely exceptional as was Long in the run in. Super Stuff and delighted with campaign.

FA Cup

In a season of total shock we somehow made the final after first MK Dons shocked Arsenal and secondly QPR shocked Manchester United. We exploited this to the max and tbh the Spurs game was far and away our toughest. Brilliant result and a total shock. Beric led the way here with 7 goals during the run.

League Cup

Probably sweeter than the Fa because we beat the premier league champions in the semi and runners up in the final albeit on penalties. Adebayor topped the scoring charts with 7.

Bring on the Premiership!!!!!!!!!!!

---------------------------------------------------

Note: Is anyone else finding since the latest update big teams are doing silly things like playing their reserves in cup games even semi's and quarters and its whats causing too many shock cup results. The league cup I can understand but the FA Cup??? Not that i'm complaining on the back of a treble but just seems to be something I'm noticing.

Thanks lads. I still think its a bug of some sort. Its not just our results. Big teams constantly underestimating lower opposition and crashing to them.

In the Fa Cup - Liverpool fell to championship Wolves in the FA Cup, Reading to Doncaster (Reading Prem, Doncaster Champ), Newcastle to Birmingham. Sunderland to Cardiff, Fulham to MK Dons, Arsenal to MK Dons, Sprus to WBA and Man United to QPR.

Maybe its just me but thats alot of shocks in the serious cup competition. Not so many in league cup but thats cause the big teams all drew each other.

August 2016

Charity Shield - West Brom 0-3 Arsenal - Crazy defending and 2 back passes straight from the Richard Dunne school of through balls saw us 2 down inside minutes and before half time Sanogo added a third. We performed much better in the 2nd half but still it was a rude awakening from a Gunners side clearly shooting for revenge.

So on to the new season and a baptism of fire for our new look side at White Hart Lane.

Premier League - Spurs 2-1 West Brom - Spurs dominated from the off and went ahead through Sandro's wonder goal. After 25 minutes we had our first shot in the premier league and Gauna dispatched a debut goal. Yarmalenko restored Spurs lead just 7 minutes later to leave us 2-1 down at half time. Again we improved 2nd half but in the end we got what we deserved.

Europa League 4QR - West Brom 3-0 Osasuna - A first club goal for Wilfried settled early nerves as we took control before said striker was removed injured with less than a quarter of the game played. The game became a tight affair of few chances until we got our second through Gauna on the hour to put us in a great position and the same players second effectively meant we'd be going to Spain for a holiday with the 2nd leg.

Premier League - West Brom 5-0 Everton - A tight first half saw us nick the lead through Gauna on 41, before the same player doubled our advantage going in at the break on the whistle. The 23 year old Argentinian than hit his hattrick on the hour as we put the game to bed. Nangis added a cool fourth and Jagielka's own goal saw the demolition complete.

Europa League 4QR - Osasuna 4(4)-0(3) West Brom - Nerves started to jangle early on as Rep put our hosts in front and on 25 it was game on when Alan powered home their second for 2-0 on the night and 3-2 on agg. We steadied up and made it too half time but the equaliser came immediately after through Alan's second. 3-0 on the night and 3-3 on agg, so much for our holiday. Bad went to worse on the hour when after making 3 subs Nangis went off injured and our euro dream hung by a thread. It was in tatters on 77 when Osasuna took the lead on aggregate through Alan's hattrick and despite a late red for Flano we never looked like getting the required goal.

Well after that absolute s**te Reese Williams got a 2 week fine as I felt his 4.7 match rating was at least 5 points better than he deserved but alot of the team should hang their heads in shame. Nemaja Vidic, you may have played your first and last game for West Brom today.

Nangis injury also means he'll be out for 5 weeks. Great preperation for going to Old Trafford, to say I'm mad is an understatment, my Salthill team would of got through in that position.

League Cup - We have drawn Newcastle away in the 3rd Round.

Premier League - Man United 2-1 West Brom - I decided to tell the team go and have fun before the tie and it seemed to work. We defended brilliantly and when Rafael was sent off on 20 I felt we could get something. We went ahead just before the break through Marcao. We kept going second half but Wijndaldum eventually found away through for United and with 10 minutes left Clitheroe broke our hearts.

September 2016

On to my international management debut. What I inherited was an aging squad with very little remaining defensive quality in the youths. For now I'd be sticking with the old guard led by captain Pique. A familiar look to a Spanish side who have achieved very little since

World Cup Qual - Spain 4-0 Kazakhstan - 4 up at half time thanks to a Llorente brace, Muniain and Silva gave way to a poorish second half showing but in the end it was a comfortable debut and an easy win. We should of scored more though and a tough looking Belgian outfit topped the group following a 6-0 hammering of Luxemburg.

World Cup Qual - Wales 1-0 Spain - I was expecting a much tougher battle in Wales despite what the pundits were saying and with Bale and Ramsey in the side the Welsh were always going to be a threat. We dominated from the off but fell behind on the stroke of ht through Collison. We again controled the second half but Wales stood firm and we were already struggling to catch the Belgians.

Premier League - West Brom 2-1 Stoke City - Wilfried put us ahead on 12 and that lead was soon doubled through Gauna on 15. With their first chance Welbeck pulled one back on 20 for Stoke but it didn't knoock us out of our stride and we probably should of had a third by half time. Stoke probably had the better of a tight second half but we were equal to what little they threw at us.

Premier League - Cardiff 2-3 West Brom - Wilfried opened the scoring just after the break in a tight game and 10 minutes later Gauna added a second. Boyata headed a third on the hour and we were coasting. Milosevic pulled one back on 77 and when the same player scored again on 80 it was backs to the wall time. Despite Cardiff taking the game to us, they couldn't get in and we got the 3 points we deserved.

League Cup - Newcastle 2-4 West Brom - Gutierrez and Niang put us 2 down with 2 rapid goals in the 11th and 13th minute. Boateng getting us back in the game just a minute later. Lopes was stretchered off on 25 as our hosts bossed the game and should have being out of sight. With what seems like only our second chance Gauna fired us level with 10 to play in the first half and the same players second put us 3-2 up at the break. 10 minutes after the break we took a huge advantage when Boyata headed our 4th before becoming our second injury victim moments later and when Carole followed with another stretcher we would have to play out the game with 10 men. A late red card for Steven Taylor saw at least one of the dirty kickers get their desserts but how would we cope if we're down three of our starting back four.

Thankfully Boyata was 5 days, Lopes 11 and Carole fine so crisis averted but we would still be down the 3 of them when we faced Chelsea.

League Cup - We have drawn Chelsea in the 4th Round, lucky for me board expectations are only the 4th round.

Premier League - West Brom 4-2 Chelsea - Great play from Chalobah put in Lukaku as start studded Chelsea started with a bang. One quickly became two when Hazard set up Chalobah on 10. We actually ha the better of the rest of the first period and should of at least had one. We got our reward in the 55th minute through a Wilfried wonder goal and pressed for an equaliser which sub Long took with style on 63. 4 minutes later we were in dream land when Wilfried played in Long and the irish striker made his statement about not being first choice. Than with 15 minutes to go we capped a wonderful turnaround when Wilfried bagged his second as Chelsea imploded. Just minutes later Ramires saw red and the 3 points were secure.

Round Up

We ended September at a lofty fourth position in the Premier League, only 3 points behind leaders Spurs. A good win over Newcastle means we will at least match our expected 4th round in the cup although we had failed at the first hurdle in Europe falling below our group stage challenge. Its wasn't so much the defeat as the manner of it that left a bad taste in the mouth.

I enjoyed but was kind of disappointed with my start to international management but luckily we had plenty of time to bounce back.

Ouch at them defeats to Osasuna and Wales!!

Shocking really. The Wales one was the usual FM, 400 to 1 shots but lose but the Osasuna one was devestating. Worst I've ever had a FM team perform for 90 minutes. Could of easily lost 9-0.

October 2016

Premier League - Blackpool 2-1 West Brom - Wilfried put us ahead but Blackpool hit back on halftime. The game was tight and we deserved a draw but a mistake by Radetic gave Eardley the chance to punish us from the spot after 85 minutes, which he did. Radetic went from bad to worse getting sent off only a minute later and end the contest.

A bad end before the international break.

World Cup Qual - Spain 0-0 Belgium - Despite taking the game to them we couldn't break them down and had to settle for a draw.

Job on the Line - The Spanish fans are already calling for my head and if things dont pick up soon I could be jobless.

World Cup Qual - Luxembourg 0-5 Spain - A decent if not great result. Hattrick from Muniain and two from Pedro.

International injuries aplenty when we arrived back meant we were fullbackless for the tie with Reading and Wilfried was also hurt.

Premier League - West Brom 1-0 Reading - Nangis on his first team return opened the scoring on the half hour.

Premier League - West Brom 4-2 Aston Villa - Boyata corner banged us in front before Nangis doubled the lead at the break. Dellatorre finally broke his duck for 3-0 before Villa immediately pulled one back. 3-2 on the hour in a crazy game when Villa corner banged themselves back into the game. Marcao struck on 80 for our 4th and sealed a tough win.

Tough decisions were made before the League Cup game at Chelsea and I pretty much gave up on retaining it with team selection, but following this tie we faced Newcastle (away), Arsenal (away), Liverpool (home) and Manchester City (away) so I hoped my decision would pay off.

League Cup 4th Round - Chelsea 3-2 West Brom - We defended well but once Mata broke the deadlock after half an hour we were always in trouble, a rapid second from Vini meant we were on our way out by half time. Chelsea continued to boss us but on the hour we hit back through Dellatorre. 5 minutes later we were level through Long. Chelsea fired everything at us and missed sitter after sitter before in the 3rd minute of 2 minutes injury time Vini popped up to give them the win they deserved.

So that was the end of our league cup campaign and like Europe before it ever got going. Still we could take alot of heart from the tie. More importantly we were fresh in defence and midfield for our toughest run of the season and have given ourselves a shot at maintaing our 3rd place in the Premiership

Premier League - Newcastle 0-3 West Brom - We went ahead early through a stunning Boateng volley despite losing Gauna to injury (the 4th Newcastle have inflicted on us this season. Dirty ****s. Nangis got through for 2 nil on 35 and the points were pretty safe when Mbolo was redcarded with a minute to play before the whistle. Marcao scored another wonder goal to make it 3 and cap a fine performance in the 70th minute and my decision against Chelsea had paid off.

November 2016

Premier League - Arsenal 1-0 West Brom - We battled bravely against the league leaders but Van Persie headed home a corner early in the second half. Vincent went off injured late on but we refused to give in. Good performance against the defending champions.

Premier League - West Brom 2-3 Liverpool - Another Radetic start and another peno he gives away (albeit unfairly), Pool pulled out of site on 20 when Jovetic headed home from a corner to make it 2 zip. stern words at the break saw Dellatorre pull one back on 48, Wilfried on the hour made it 2-2 with a neat finish and the same player had a perfect goal ruled out for offside. Disaster when Marcao's mistake gave Liverpool another penalty (again controversial) which Agger again dispatched. Undone by a corrupt ref, not to mention the fact we hit the woodwork 3 times and Liverpool were shooting into a bigger goal than us. Being a manager is really annoying sometimes. Time for a blood pressure tablet.

Well there ya go. Speak your mind at a press conference and you get a touchline ban. F**k You, FA, F**k You. Anyway its away from corrupt old England to a couple of high profile international friendlies.

International Friendly - Holland 0-4 Spain - 2 from Pedro and a Pique header end the tie by half time. Dutch played better after the break but Amat added to our scorers in an emphatic win.

International Friendly - Argentina 2-5 Spain - If we looked like potential world champs against Holland, we hammered that into the hearts and minds of the nation against Argentina but against the run of play we nicked a goal through Pique, Pedro quickly made it 2 before a Ramos og let Argentina back in the tie. After the break we took the game to our hosts and Mata made it 3 before Pedro's second made it four. Messi made it 4-2 but Pedro had the final say making it a huge win.

So back to England on a high and I would get to watch from the stands as we travelled to Mega rich Man City hoping to avoid our 3rd straight defeat.

More good news with Boateng arriving back from Ghana with an injury which will sideline him for 3 weeks.

Premier League - Manchester City 2-2 West Brom - With the team in the hands of Andrij Voronin I was praying for a miracle and it looked to have come when Boyata headed us in front on 43 from a corner and than doubled the lead from a freekick a minute later. Another defender headed in another corner when Kompany got City back in the tie immediately after half time and City's army of strikers came at us hard. In a nervy ending Silva rattled the post and than more right at the death horror when Modric finished off Asamoah's killer pass to break our hearts.

Old Club Watch - Salthill have finished the Irish League Season in a hugely depressing 8th. They did make the league cup final but were wel beaten. Alan Murphy your ruining my legacy.

Premier League - West Brom 2-1 Huddersfield - Wilfried put us ahead after 4 minutes but we conceded a minute later for an interesting start. We continued to boss the game and Gauna ended his bad patch to put us ahead at the break. Second half was more of the same and in the end the win was far more emphatic than the scoreline suggests.

Wilfried will be out for 3 weeks after picking up a knock against Huddersfield.

FA Cup - We have drawn West Ham in Round 3.

Round Up

After a great September and October, November saw us crash down to earth. Still a battling point at City and the win at home to Huddersfield meant we sat 6th in the Premier League after 14 games and were well on target to achieve our goals. Goals have dried up for Gauna but we continue to hold our own with the goals being more shared about.

December 2016 Part One - The Big Question

Premier League - Blackburn 0-3 West Brom - Veenboer fired us ahead after 3 and despite our hosts dominating Boyata doubled that lead with a 25 yard volley for a very flattering half time lead. Second half was dull and Boyata got our 3rd in a more usual fashion on 82 before Dellatorre's injury soured an otherwise great day.

Dellatorre is out for a month leaving us slightly thin in the striker department.

Premier League - West Brom 3-0 Leicester - Gauna, Neto and Marcao as City are easily brushed aside as we remain in 6th but only 4 points off the top of an incredibly tight table.

Premier League - Sunderland 0-2 West Brom - Gauna fired us ahead after ten minutes and after 17 Marcao scored a peno to give us a cushion. From there on we coasted over the line with neither side really threatening.

Defeat for City (who saked their boss) and draws for Liverpool and Spurs today saw us climb to 3rd. Great effort from the team.

I have being linked with the Manchester City job after they sacked Mihalovic or however its spelt and today confirmed my interest in said position and submitted an application. I hope the fans don't go mental....

Premier League - West Brom 5-2 West Ham - An early og and Nangis after 8 minutes saw my team start brilliantly in what many touted would be my last game in charge. Wilfried made it 3 nil after only 15 minutes. We took our foot of the gas and allowed the Hammers back in the game from 2 set pieces right on half time. Gauna made it 4-2 just after the restart. Marko Lloyd added a 5th at the death and if this was to be my last game as West Brom boss it was an incredible way to say goodbye.

Manchester City have made their interest in me official and given me quite the offer.

£96m transfer budget and a squad that has Aguero, Kompany, Hart, Mascherano, Modric, Nasri, Asamoah, Toure, Van derWiel. I'm stumped. I love West Brom but my Champs League ambitions are best served at City, but I could sneak the league title with the Baggies. Its the money (and I'm a City fan)....... I know I applied but I don't know what to do. Off to bed to sleep on it I think.

December 2016

It was Christmas day when the announcement was made. P OD has joined Manchester City on a 5 year deal and his first game would be the home tie with Stoke the following day.

Premier League - Man City 1-2 Stoke City - In a poor showing my City debut started badly and we were behind at half time after Srna's mistake gave away a spot kick. We got a response from a half time pasting but it took till the hour before Aguero fired us level. with ten minutes to go another Srna mistake saw Marc wilson head home his second as my City career started poorly.

In what seemed like a message to me West Brom hammered Birmingham to go second in the table.

With Samir Nasri the first of our rather large injury list back we were quietly confident to host Cardiff.

Premier League - Man City 4-0 Cardiff - Dzeko opened the scoring inside a minute but it took us till the 40th minute to get comfortable. Aguero heading home as the team struggled to get to grips with my tactics. Samba's header made it three on the hour and Aguero's second put a wonderful sheen on the result with 10 minutes to go.

January 2016

January began with what can only be described as a pillaging of West Brom. Midfield star Marcao arrived for £20m, Top striker Gauna joining for £10.25m, US striker Sean Allen joining for £5m (incidentally he was granted a work permit at City, despite being declined one at West Brom).

Premier League - Chelsea 0-2 Man City - Gauna marked his debut with the opener after 25 minutes and when Samba headed home on 40, it'd looked like we were back in the title race.

FA Cup Round 3 - Man City 4-1 Brighton - Youngster Florent Paul opened the scoring after quater of an hour and doubled the lead in an impressive performance after half an hour. Micah Richards made it three before half time.Srna gave away another peno (thats 2 in 2 starts) which Brighton wasted before they did find a way back into the game. 3 minutes later sub Gauna restored our 3 goal cushion as we coasted over the line.

FA Cup - We have drawn QPR in Round Four

Ganso is back in full training, another of our list of injuries.

Premier League - Man City 0-0 Blackpool - 20 shots, 5cc and no goal. Poor performance from our strikers.

Premier League - Man City 3-1 Everton - Sloppy defending allowed Coleman in from a corner as we played poorly in a scrappy first half but Dzeko sent us in at the break at 1-1. We played much better in the second period but it looked unlikely we were going to beat Howard until Gauna tapped in after Aguero was denied on 75 and minutes later sub Sean Allen added a 3rd.

Premier League - Reading 1-5 Man City - Aguero netted in teh first mintue but Reading equalised in the second, Dzeko put us in front on 30. We doubled our lead through Dzeko a minute after half time and with our tails up there was only going to be one winner and Allen grabbed our fourth, Aguero's second was our fifth as we looked to be gathering some momentum.

FA Cup Round 4 - Man City 7-0 QPR - A hattrick from youngster Florent Paul and a Sean Allen strike saw our b team 4 up after 25 mintues. Pauls 4th was our 5th and Silva added our 6th on the hour. Another from Paul (his 5th) made it seven as we stormed into the th round.

Premier League - Man City 5-2 Newcastle - An early Dzeko strike was quickly cancelled out but Kun put us back in front after 10 and Samba made it 3-1 after 15. Dzeko killed put the match to bed just before the break with a super header. Niang hit back on the hour for the Toon but they never looked like earning a point and when sub Paul's 25 yarder hit the net we could relax.

Round Up:

In spite of our form we remain sixth in an incredibly tight Premier League that seems to be split in 3. We trail leaders Arsenal by 10 points but are only 2 points off 3rd placed Chelsea, hight flying West Brom and Liverpool. Dzeko has being excellent since getting used of how we play and Paul has being a revelation when called upon. Squad is massive and very, very old and its something that while not improtant now will need addressing in the summer. We host Arsenal to open a toughish February thats see's us travel to Anfield between 2 Champions League ties with Shakhtar.

Febraury 2016

Why I took the job - Chairman Mubarak has injected £75m into the club to balance the books and my ravaging of West Brom.

We have submitted our squad for the Champions League.

Premier League - Man City 3-1 Arsenal - Dzeko with a wondergoal put us ahead after 15 minutes and 5 minutes later Aguero smashed home a freekick for a great start. Samba headed in an Aguero freekick for 3-0 after 35 before Ganso departed injured to be replaced by Modric (or Nasri, hows that for depth..). Bendtner pulled one back after 68 minutes as we started to dose off but that goal seemed to wake us up again and despite not adding another we bossed the rest of the game for 3 important points.

Ganso is out for the best part of two months.

We have climbed to fourth after Chelsea drew at Sunderland and West Broms bubble appears to have burst with them losing at home to Blackpool.

Massimo Neri has being appointed as our new assistant manager.

International Friendly - Australia 0-2 Spain - Bojans strike saw us go ahead in a game in which the opp dominated us. We played better 2nd half and Munoz volley sealed a tough win.

FA Cup - We will face Leeds United in Round 5.

Premier League - Aston Villa 0-2 Man City - Paul in for Aguero who was tired opened the scoring in a pulsating and close opening 45. Aguero on as a sub set up Paul for his and our second on 66 in a second half we dominated but try as we might we couldn't find a third.

The gap at the top of the table is now down to 5 points after Arsenal were held, but Spurs who sit second have a 3 point lead on us and a game in hand.

Champions League Last 16 - Shakhtar 1-0 Man City - We had all the ball but never really carved our opponents open and than on the hour it all changed. A daft red for Mascherano followed by a quick goal saw us 1 down and our hosts started to boss the tie. Poor showing by all accounts.

FA Cup Round 5 - Leeds 1-3 Man City - Again it was a "b" team of wonder kids and internationals who took the field and it was against the run of play that Sean Allen gave us the lead on 25. Leeds continued to look the better side but in the last 10 minutes their legs gave way and a Paul brace ended the tie before we gave up and injury time consolation.

So we got back to form just in time for a huge trip to Anfield

FA Cup - We have drawn West Brom in the FA Cup quarter finals. Its a return to the Hawthorns for myself, Marcao, Gauna and Allen (the later who spent 4 days there before being sent on loan to Croatia).

Premier League - Liverpool 2-3 Man City - Gaunas early brace silenced Anfield and put us in a great position after 20 minutes as Liverpool struggled to contain our front three. When Aguero added a 3rd the points were looking safe at half time. Nerves started to jangle when Jovetic stuck with 15 minutes to play but Liverpool could find a second until the last kick of the ball and we got the points more comfortably than the score suggests.

The gap to Arsenal and Spurs is now only 3 points but Spurs still have that game in hand. To their credit WBA remain in 6th only 8 points off the top.

In some serious negotiations I have persuaded the board to: Improve Training Facilities, Increase the Junior Coaching Budget and most importantly Buy the City of Manchester Stadium.

Premier League - West Ham 2-1 Man City - Silly Mascherano gave away a peno after 5 minutes which saw us fall behind and the hammers went 2 up on 40 before Gauna scored almost immediately from kick off to give us a lifeline we didn't deserve. Nasri saw red as we imploded 2nd half.

Round Up:

A strange 2 months some great performances and some very poor ones. We had a battle on in the chamions league and now to try and win the league. We trailed Arsenal and more importantly Spurs by 6 points and the later still had a game in hand. Pluses are the new training facilities, and buying the stadium but out patchy form and the egos in the dressing room is getting frustrating. with 2 or 3 players not listening and looking disinterested during matches.

Nasri was hit with a 2 week fine for his red and Mascherano fined a weeks wages for his display which was horrible. Disgusting and dare I say the title is now gone.

not the worst but very incosistent we've being very good against the top team but really poor and struggle to beat the weaker teams. Maybe I'm being too tough on the team before so called easier games. Overpaid spoiled primadonna's in their 30's alot of them. Also morale isn't great as 2 or 3 were transfer listed by request when i arrived and still haven't asked to stay, Aguero, Modric and Silva.

March 2016.

Man Utd have won the Carling Cup beating Cardiff 2-0 in the final.

Premier League - Man City 4-0 Huddersfield - YaYa Toure broke the deadlock early as we looked to bounce back and in a poor display we got an undeserved second through Marcao's freekick. Hudderfield fell apart after this and Dzeko and sub Paul wrapped up a really flattering win.

Champions League Last 16 - Man City 3 (3)-0 (0) Shakhtar - We took the game to Shakhtar and Dzeko broke the deadlock after 20 minutes to level the tie. With his first kick of the ball Milner smashed in a freekick on 65 to put us ahead on aggregate and finally in the 85th minute sub Allen got our 3rd and ensured progression.

FA Cup Quarter Finals - West Brom 1-2 Man City - After a tight opening it was Sean Allen who knicked us the lead against a West Brom side intent on injuring my whole team. With 2 of our players off for treatment their plan worked when Wilfied got in to level the tie before half time. It was a nip and tuck game bt in the end it was another ex-Baggie Marcao who proved the difference scoring the winner in the 80th minute to put us in the semi's.

FA Cup - We have drawn Arsenal in the semi's. Blackpool will face either MK Dons or Chelsea in the other.

Premier League - Blackburn 0-2 Man City - In another dominating yet toothless performance we managed to sneak a halftime lead when Clichy put us ahead right on half time. In the end Dzeko finally killed the game in the 89th minute.

Old club West Brom did us a huge favour beating Arsenal 3-2 at the Hawthorns and Spurs crashed to a 3-0 defeat at home to United, putting us within 6 points of Spurs and 3 of Arsenal.

As I headed off for international duty I noticed that Spanish holding midfielder Busquet had 6 months left at Brace and we got in early and convinced him to sing a pre-contract agreement with us. He will arrive for the new season.

World Cup Qualifier - Finland 3-1 Spain - Pique headed us in front early on but poor set piece defending gave away an equaliser after quarter of an hour. Another poor first half after our recent good form. Disaster as after 64 minutes we fell behind and Finland struck again to destroy our hopes in the 75th minute. Embarrasing.

Disgusting and sickening after finding some form we were desperate. Two of the so called best players in the world Fabregas and Ramos will do well to ever feature in my team again...

Table looks like this all have played 5 games.

Belgium - 13
Finland - 10
Wales - 7
Spain - 7
Kazakhstan - 6
Luxembourg - 0

Premier League - Man City 9-0 Leicester - Sean Allen in for Dzeko opened the scoring after 12 and an og by Matty Briggs put us 2 up midway through the first half. A Scott Allen og ended the contest before half time and Gauna, Marcao, a second from Allen, a brace for substitue Paul and finally Allens hattrick finished off an incredible hammering.

In a huge swing league leader Spurs were thrashed 7-1 in a week where the Premier League went goals crazy and we are now within 3 points of the title.

Champions League - We have drawn Lyon in the Champions League Last 8. The first leg will be away.

April 2016

Premier League - Man City 5-1 Sunderland - Aguero's 30th of the season put us ahead after 20 and a carbon copy 6 minutes later saw us cruising but Sunderland exploited our weakness defending setpieces on 40 to pull one back. Kun was denied a hattrick when clean though as a last ditch tackle from Coady rolled past his keeper and regained our 2 goal lead. Nasri was hurt 2 minutes after the restart but it had little bearing as Allen hit our 4th on the hour. Sub Paul chipped in with a fifth 8 minutes later.

Arsenal beat Spurs 2-0 in a huge battle at the Emirates as we leapfrogged Spurs into second with the Gunners a point ahead.

Champions League Last 8 1stLeg - Lyon 1-0 Man City - After a tight first half which we probably shaded, Lyon hit first on 55 through Fofana, but seconds later had a man dismissed when Nestor saw red. We still had the better afterwards but a goal never looked like coming.

Van der Wiel is out for a month joining, Nasri and Ganso on the injury list.

Premier League - West Brom 1-3 Man City - Great start against our opp, Schmichael's 1st minute og and Marcao's 15th minute strike started us flying. Our 3rd was supplied by Allen and finished by Gauna meaning all 3 of our ex WestBrom players had helped sink the Baggies. Long did manage a last minute penalty following Milners mistake to add some respect for our hosts.

Champions League Last 8 2nd Leg - Man City 1 (1)-0 (1) Lyon - The disappointing thing about this is we barely even threatened till the last 5 minutes and it was comfotable for Lyon until the 89th minute when Aguero scored before going off in injury time leaving us to play extra time with 10 men. Extra time was muck but the numbers were evened on 113 when Mangane saw red. Still we couldn't break them down and it went to peno's.

Marcao scores 1-0 City

Fomba misses

Dzeko misses

Sow scores 1-1

Milner misses

Gaitan scores 1-2 Lyon

Modric misses

Aubert scores 1-3 Lyon

We are out of the Champions League on penalties. Unfortunately in Gauna and Aguero we lost two of our first choice takers and it showed.

FA Cup Semi Final - Arsenal 1-1 Man City - Sean Allen opened the scoring in the 25th minute of an end to end contest and we were denied a stone wall peno just 2 minutes later. With our tails up we took the game to the gunners. Right on half time came a shock, an innocent Mascherano tackle on Sanogo led to a straight red and an uphill battle for us. In spite of the red and more horrible refereeing we stayed in the game and Arsenal resorted to trying to break our legs but as luck would have it they hit us on the break through Sanogo. We than had a perfectly good Aguero goal ruled out for offside. Another Arse player should of saw red before the full time whistle. We defended bravely and brilliantly in a game that was 12 v 10 for extra time and arrived at peno's where we couldn't be cheated as long as we had none that would need goalline technology to answer.

Ansaldi scored 1-0 Arsenal

Roux scored 1-1

Sanogo scored 2-1 Arsenal

Dzeko missed (two in 3 days, you should be proud Edin)

Bendtner scored 3-1 Arsenal

Aguero scored 3-2 Arsenal

Ayew missed 3-2

Srna scored 3-3

Hueng-Min scored 4-3 Arsenal

Silva missed 4-3 Arsenal

So like the Champions League we were out on penalties. only this time we were robbed. Edin Dzeko for a man with 16/20 for penos you sure do miss alot.

Chelsea will face Arsenal in the final after a 5-0 thrashing of Cardiff.

After a meeting with the board I have convinced them to upgrade our youth facilities.

Even with such a big squad we had very few fully fit players to choose from in travelling to Birmingham especially in defence and up front.

Premier League - Birmingham 0-3 Man City - We hit the post 3 times in the first 25 minutes and Sean Allen picked up a minor injury and I thought it was going to be one of those days again. Lucky Aguero who was only half fit had the answer on half time. I brought on youngster Vukojevic for Allen after 70 minutes and he bagged the crucial second 6 minutes later. Aguero limped off injured seeing us down to 10 but Vukojevic bagged a second to cap and excellent performance from an exhaused and barely standing team.

Good and bad news as Arsenal were beaten by Everton so we have climbed top of the tree with 4 games remaining but Aguero would miss most the season being out for 4-5 weeks.

Up next a huge weekend in deciding the Premiership, We have a massive clash against 3rd placed Spurs at the Etihad while Arsenal host Man United. Season defining weekend I'd say.

With 34 games played each table showed

Man City - 74
Arsenal - 72
Tottenham- 72
Liverpool- 68

More good news when Sergio Aguero has withdrawn his transfer request. Might be able to pick his morale up now.

Still we would face Spurs without Aguero, Gauna, Macherano, Ganso, Srna, De Jong and Nasri

Premier League - Man City 1-1 Spurs - We bossed the game from the off and although we lost Van der Wiel to a knock on 25 Dzeko opened the scoring after 36 minutes. With their first and only effort on target Spurs leveled through Yarmalenko from a corner after 80 minutes, denying us a deserved win.

Reading and Leicester are now relegated from the Premiership, the former after a 9 point deduction, but in the game that counted Javier Hernandez hit the winner as United came from behind to beat

Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates.

Premier League - Everton 1-3 Man City - Dzeko put us ahead will a goal that was at least 35 yards offside but after some of the decisions that we've had we were due one. Fischer found an equaliser for a deserving Everton right on halftime though. Paul hit the post immediately after the restart and Allen got on 2 5 minutes later as we looked much improved. But as always we continued to f**k up soft games and Modric walked on 55 to make things hard. Luckily Allen struck again on the hour against the run of play and we started to look comfortable after some defensive tweaks. A

Huge step taken toward the title.

Arsenal won against Stoke and Spurs beat Huddersfield to leave us as we were except with less games to play.

Round Up:

Not alot to be said. Unlucky to go out of both cups and hugely improved in the league. The Spain result was a shocker though.

Table looks as follows. All played 36

Man City - 78
Tottenham- 76
Arsenal - 75
Chelsea - 73
Liverpool- 71
West Brom- 70

for the life of me I cant understand my form with Spain. We've hammered Argentina, Holland and Australia and lost to Wales and Finland. Belgium draw I can understand as they now have a massive team.. but the rest is so weird. i just can't put my finger on it. Me thinks I'll be out of a job pretty soon tbh, even if we qualify I don't think I'll be going to the World Cup.

I appear to be better in finals than qualifiers myself Lost to Slovakia 3-0 and were held by Israel at home after winning the Euros, then strolled to the Confederations cup easily beating sides stronger than those 2.

May 2016

Arsenal will meet Lyon in the Champions League Final. Arsenal beat Valencia 3-1 in the semis while Lyon beat Barcelona 4-0.

We faced a massive derby with United to open May. Arsenal won earlier in the week as did Chelsea so we led Arsenal on goal difference and Chelsea by 3 points going into the game while Spurs played at the same time as us.

Premier League - Man City 3-0 Man United - In a tense and even derby it was Kompany who opened the scoring with a 25 yard freekick, what he was doing takin it I'll never know but the club captain had got our most important goal of the season. Less than a minute after the break Paul doubled our lead and the same player tripled it on 52 minutes. United offered little and we were seemingly right on the verge.

Bottling Spurs were beaten 2-0 at Blackburn and the title was now almost guaranteed. We would need to lose at Stoke, Arsenal would have to win away to Chelsea and overturn a 13 goal difference to pull it off. Birmingham have being relegated to the Championship.

Incidentally Arsenal have beaten Chelsea today 1-0 to claim the FA Cup.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Premier League - Stoke 1-1 Man City - In a tough half stoke first left 3 of our players with knocks before Huth completed the job on Allen with a horrible tackly that didn't even see a booking. Five minutes after the break Huth also got Dzeko and with all our subs made they managed to get Silva too. Still we don't like being bullied and Paul finally got a deserved breakthrough on the hour but Welbeck hit straight back. Thats how it finished and we limped off the field wound but Champions.

Summer 2017

I set about re-arranging our aging squad in the summer and pissed off alot of the stars of world football. On my list to be shipped out were Yaya Toure, Luka Modric, David Silva, Nigel DeJong, Samir Nasri, Darijo Srna and possibly Edin Dzeko

Transfers Out:
Ezequiel Garay - Sevilla - £1m
Yaya Toure - Stoke City - £2.5m
Nigel De Jong - Stoke City - £1m
Jolean Lescott - Retired
Samir Nasri - Real Madrid - £16.75m
Edin Dzeko - Inter Milan - £4m
Robin Volkov - Bristol City - £1m
Steve Churchill - Leeds - £500k
Micah Richards - Released
Darijo Srna - Released
Jean Fichot - Almeria - £2.5m
Total - £29.5m

Transfers In:
Jerome Launay - Midfield - Guingamp - £2m
Rangel - Midfield/Attack - Sao Paulo - £18m
Filipe - Fullback - Kiryat Shmona - £500k (work permit denied so will be going on loan)
Robin Vuillemin - Fullback - Rennais FC - £30m
Sergio Busquets - Midfield - Barcelona - Free Transfer
Vlad Petrushin - Defence - Spartak Moscow - £34m
Marcelo Colman - Vitesse - £14m
Gregory Barbier - Auxerre - £11.5m
Total - £110m

World Cup Qualifiers - Kazakhstan 0-3 Spain - Pedro got the opener on 17 in a game where we expectedly dominated. An og gave us our second before half time. Pique's penalty made it 3 in the 85th minute after a poorish second half showing.

In the groups other games Belgium thrashed Luxembourg 9-0 and Wales beat Finland 2-0. We sat 3rd in the group. 6 points behind Belgium, level on point with Wales and Finland but trailing Wales on goal difference and leading Finland.

Pre-Season was pretty much a cruise for us as we won every game comfortably and it was now time to look forward to the Community Shield against Arsenal.

August 2017

Community Shield - Arsenal 1-0 Man City - In a bit of a dirty first half Vincent Kompany picked up our first red of the new season after only 25 minutes. Not alot in the way of chances with Arsenal having more of the ball but Aguero did miss a 1 on 1 after 70. The winner came in the 93rd minute through debuant Schurrie as Arsenal beat us yet again.

International Friendly - Israel 0-2 Spain - Goals from Muniain and Pacheco put us 2 up before Pacheco got himself sent off after half an hour. Second half was pretty drab by all accounts.

Premier League - Man City 3-1 Man United - United started the better but on the half hour Aguero fired us in front from 25 yards and a minute before half time he doubled our lead as our opponents started to falter. a 66th minute Busquets tap in had us flying but crazy defending saw Clitheroe pull one back.

Premier League - Stoke City 1-0 Man City - One of those days where we have 200 shots, they have one. Aguero very poor. Celebrations for Yaya and Nigel De Jong

Stoke are turning into something of a bogey team for me....

As August came to an end we have being given a moderate test in the Champions League:

Man City
Bordeaux
Dynamo Kyiv
M. Haifa

September 2017

Work has bein completed on upgrading the youth and training facilities.

We have drawn West Brom in the league cup 3rd round.

Premier League - Man City 2-2 Blackburn - Colman opened the scoring on 25 but we conceded to corner minutes later. Aguero though gave us a halftime lead with a tidy finish. In a poor second half performance we carved out 100 chances but it was Blackburn who got the all important 4th goal.

World Cup Qualifier - Spain 5-0 Wales - As we set about getting our campaign back on track and more importantly revenge early goals from Pedro and Negredo got us off to a flyer. Negredo added our 3rd on the half hour and Pedro the 4th before the break. Mata added the 5th on 70 as we put Wales back in their place.

We climbed to 2nd with Wales falling to 4th. Belgium look unlikely to be caught as a 3-0 win kept them 6 points ahead and Finlands 5-0 win over Luxembourg kept them level on 13 points with us.

World Cup Qualifier - Spain 7-0 Luxembourg - It took us 53 minutes to break the deadlock as we played poorly but once we did the goals started flowing. In the end a Negredo hattrick, goals for Martinez, Rodrigo Garcia, Sergio Busquets and an og ended the job professionally.

Finland earned a tough draw against Belgium to lower the gap to 4 points but the Belgians were still massive favourites. Wales beat Kazakhstan 4-0 to keep their slim hopes alive in the other tie.

Next up for us would be a huge trip to Belgium before finishing at home to Finland. Belgiums final game would be at home to Wales.

Belgium - 20
Spain - 16
---------------
Finland - 14
Wales - 13

Premier League - Bristol City 0-4 Man City - Aguero twice and Kompany as we bossed a comfy first half. the second half was kind of dull but on 81 we got our 4th through an og.

Champions League - Bordeaux 1-2 Man City - Busquets strike seperated the teams at half time. Aguero hit the second before Damari pulled one back after 57. Aguero saw his peno saved on 69 which should have killed the tie but we still eased to the 3 points.

Premier League - Man City 4-1 Aston Villa - A poor start saw us trail after 5 minutes but Rangel put us back on terms and Barbier put us ahead before the interval. Aguero hit no.3 in the first minute of the second half. Sub Colman added a 4th with seconds to go.

League Cup 3rd Round - West Brom 2-1 Man City - Allen put us ahead after 15 in a game where we were on the back foot for most the first half. Horrible defending allowed Neto in too level straight after the restart. We brought on the big guns and took control but exCity player Nangis scored on the counter in the 82nd minute to send us crashing out of a comp that we didn't really care about anyway.

Premier League - Arsenal 0-1 Man City - Aguero put us in front after 15 of a tough tie with the Gunners. The game was tight but in the end we defended brilliantly and got a deserved win.

September 2017

Champions League - Man City 2-0 M. Haifa - Barbier put us ahead inside 20 and despite dominating we gave away a silly peno on 35. Luckily for us it was blazed wide. Barbier's wondergoal sealed the points on 57.

Premier League - Man City 3-0 Everton - Aguero with a hattrick as we eased past Everton.

Well on to my biggest game as Spain manager. We had to travel to Belgium to face probably the best international side in the world and needed to win. The Belgians were a young team full of worldclass talent. With one of the strongest midfields in world. In Boyata and Kompany probably the best defensive pairing and Lukaku one of the best front men.

World Cup Qualifiers - Belgium 2-0 Spain - We dominated but Fellaini put Belgium ahead via a corner after 17 minutes. We got double corner banged when Kompany headed home a second just before half time. We fell apart second half and despite not conceding again, were well and truly hammered.

Wow, we are in big, big trouble. We can only make the World Cup via the playoffs.

With one game to go its looking as follows.

Belgium - pl 9 - pts 23
Finland - pl 9 - pts 17
----------------------
Spain - pl 9 - pts 16
Wales - pl 9 - pts 16

In the last game we had a home tie with Finland while Wales travelled to Belgium.

Adding to the pressure was the news in the Spanish press that failure to win would see me back to full time club management.

World Cup Qualifiers - Spain 2-0 Finland - We started poorly and Finland probably should have bein 2 up early on before we got a foothold in the game but we eventually got on top and hammered them for the next 25 minutes. Right on half time Negredo broke the deadlock as we took the advantage in the playoff race. Negredo added a 2nd as we confirmed the points and after scoring 5 in his last 2 outings left me wondering why I dropped him for the Belgium game.

Wales win in Belgium made our falling apart all the more frustrating as heading if we had performed in Belgium we would have topped the group.

I headed to the playoff draw very nervous as ourselves, Croatia, Denmark, Portugal, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and Ukraine filling the 8 spots.

In the end we drew the Czech's. Not the easiest game but certainly not the hardest we could have got either.

Premier League - Newcastle 1-2 Man City - We fell behind early and never looked like equalising first half. Stern words and a change of tactics saw Gauna equalise but the game was still in the balance. With 10 minutes to go Marcao grabbed a probably slightly deserved winner from the spot after a mistake by Niang as we kept pace at the top.

Champions League - Dynamo Kyiv 0-2 Man City - Aguero put us ahead early before we decided to play who can miss the goal by the furthest from six yards out for the remainder of the half. We got our deserved second on 54 Gauna capping a wonderful passing move. We had to see out the game with 10 when Colman limped off but the points were very comfortably earned.

Colman will be out for 6 weeks with injury picked up against Kyiv.

Premier League - Cardiff 1-3 Man City - We were under pressure for most the first half but somewho led through Gauna. Second half was all Cardiff and their 20 shots to our 3 showed who performed better but in the end Aguero broke their hearts with 10 minutes to play and the same player added a totally undeserved 3rd in the last minute. Cardiff got their deserved goal straight form kick off but the points were undeservedly ours.

We led an incredibly tight premier League by 3 pints come November and were cruising in the Champs League so all was rosy in the City camp. Can't say the same for the Spanish camp.

All teams had played 9 times and the league looked like this...

Man City - 22 - +15
Stoke Cty - 19 - +11
Liverpool - 19 - +10
Arsenal - 19 - +10
---------------------
Chelsea - 19 - +7
Man Utd - 19 - +6

November 2017

Premier League - Man City 3-1 Fulham - Aguero put us ahead but Fulham leveled against the run of play after half and hour. Kun's second put us ahead on the hour, he than missed a penalty before adding our 3rd on 73. In a game that seemed to be only about him Aguero hit the post twice more as we sailed home.

Everyone except British Footballs other Oil-Rich Club, Stoke City, won to stay within 3 points. Liverpool pipped Stoke at Anfield.

Champions League - Man City 4-0 Dynamo Kyiv - Barbier puts us ahead after 30 seconds but Kyiv defended brilliantly to stay in the game till half time. Sean Allen scored in the first minute after the break to end the tie and Barbiers peno made it three on the hour. Guyot hit his first for the club for number four with 15 to play and we were in the 2nd round.

Premier League - Swansea 0-3 Man City - Allen put us ahead after 10 and despite the hosts looking threatening on the counter we had the better. Gauna grabbed a second early in the second and Aguero the third after 75.

Premier League - Man City 3-0 Blackpool - Allen again opened the scoring, the US international proving quite a great replacement for Colman. Gauna continued his fine recent form with the second on 37. Florent Paul who has become something of a forgotten man this season added no.3 as we started to look like the team to beat.

And to my biggest games of the season.

World Cup Qualifier Playoff 1st Leg - Czech Republic 0-1 Spain - Muniain got the all important away goal in the 25th minute. We outplayed them for the rest of the game but never got the second we deserved.

World Cup Qualifier Playoff 2nd Leg - Spain 2 (3)-0 (0) Czech Republic - Negredo got an early goal to put us all but in the World Cup and after 10 minutes we were there when Pedro put us 2 up on the night and 3 on aggregate. We controlled the rest of the game and never looked in danger of letting it slip.

We had qualified and quite comfortably in the end. Still it wouldn't paper over the cracks and I still couldn't be sure that I would be the man leading the team there.

Premier League - Huddersfield 1-1 Man City - 1 down from a corner after only a minute. Gauna sent us in level at the break after a poorish first half. Try as we might second half we just couldn't put one of our ten thousand chances away and we wasted a huge opportunity to open a 5 point lead at the top.

next up was Bordeaux at home in the Champs League. A point or better and we would be group winners but I decided it best to save the first team for a tough December.

Champions League - Man City 4-1 Bordeaux - Barbier put us ahead inside 20 and Gauna gave us a 2 goal half time cushion. Gauna fired in 2 more for his hattrick before a late consolation for the visitors.

December 2017

Ex Club Watch - Salthill have finished the current Irish Season in 6th place.

Premier League - Man City 3-0 West Ham - After wasting a host of chances Allen broke through on the half hour and was quickly followed by Gauna as we sailed to half time. Gauna grabbed his second in the 85th.

Premier League - West Brom 0-2 Man City - Petrushin headed us into an early lead against my old club. We had plenty of chances and West Brom were penned in for long periods but we didn't get the second until injury time arriving from the boot of Ganso.

FA Cup - We face Burnley in Round 3.

Champions League - M.Haifa 0-2 Man City - Barbier got the first, Guyot the second in the first half. In the second have we went back to playing who can miss the most sitters (Barbier won) as our hosts offered absolutely nothing. Forgotten man James Milner named man of the match.

Premier League - Man City 6-0 Spurs - Petrushin opened the scoring for the second league game in a row and Rangel, arguably the best player in the world already at only 21 added a quickfire brace from midfield to leave Spurs shocked at half time. Gauna added no.4 on the hour and another from Petrushin made it 5 with 15 to play. Sub Barbier completed the hammering with 5 to play.

Premier League - Man City 5-0 Sunderland - Rangel opens the scoring as he finally seems to be settling in at our side, Petrushin added the second and the Russian is another who seems to be well settled and now scoring for fun from centre back. Gauna fired in a 3rd on the half hour. Aguero ended his drought for number 4 and we were sailing at half time. Petrushin again made it five on the hour

So on to an incredibly tough christmas period which will see us away to 4th placed Liverpool, away to Chelsea (2nd place) and away to United (3rd place) on new years day.... Ouch!!!

Premier League - Liverpool 0-1 Man City - Busquets wonder goal put us ahead in a tight encounter after 27 minutes. Aguero rattled the post as we bossed the second half and bad news for our tough run when Kompany left the field injured on 65. Liverpool offered little bar a late flurry 5 minutes from time and in the end it was a comfy win.

Premier League - Chelsea 1-1 Man City - Agueros 20th of the season put us ahead but Chelsea corner banged themselves level a minute later and we went in level despite dominating. An injury to Gauna marred a great defensive performance as Chelsea took the game to us in the 2nd half.

Round Up

A good couple of months for both City and Spain thank god. We are in the world cup (eventually) and I haven't being sacked quite yet. On the City front we eased through in the Champs League and we sit 7 points clear in the Premiership although Chelsea have a game in hand. United sit 10 points behind in 3rd and have a game in hand. A win at Old Trafford next time out would essentially turn the title race into one of only 2 horses.

thanks delta. we really seem to have found our stride and our new signings are starting to settle especially Rangel whose an abolute monster in the middle. I had to re-train him from a winger but it seems really worth it now. Tearing teams apart.
