ArsenalFan7
So when the opposition gives away a penalty your player gets on the spot to take it... But before it's taken I usually get this message "the keeper complains the ball isn't on the spot". Now the ball obviously is on the spot so I can only think that this has been written wrong in the commentary? Yes or am I misunderstanding this sentence? ftg87
It's just something that a goalkeeper does sometimes to try and waste a bit of time and put off the player about to take the penailty
ArsenalFan7
How is saying the ball isn't in a certain position ever going to help though?
ftg87
Well, if he complains and the referee agrees, the attacker has to go back to the ball and replace it, therefore possibly upsetting his mental preparation before taking the penalty. It's just mind games
DivineOne
Complaining to get the player out of his concentration. Works rarely, but doesn't mean keepers don't try it.

Vangelis21
They do it all the time. I remember once, a GK was going and yelling in the face of the taker!
Dalimyr
It happens in real life from time to time with corners as well, though I've never seen a comment about them in the game. I remember watching a Rangers game on TV and laughing as the commentator said "Nacho Novo's placed the ball just outside the corner area again. He must have an aversion to white paint or something." Paul Gallagher always does it. Untill we were on tele the other week. Then he put it inside the corner circle
