Veg
The title says it all. As I'm playing with a netbook I need to set the default control height to 18. But making a settings folder and copying a settings file from fm2009 didn't work. Please help me!
vasilli07
I'm also playing the game on a netbook. Would really appreciate if someone can change it to fit into the netbook.
radestock
Rather than a file called 'settings.xml' settings are now in a file called 'SKINNAME settings.xml' where SKINNAME is the name of the skin you're using.
Veg
I've tried that to but it doesn't change the default control height when adding the following lines into the xxxx settings.xml file: <integer id="dcht" value="18" comment="default control height"/> <integer id="dcwd" value="128" comment="default control width"/> Seems to me like this settings file is for colours only... Veg
Never mind, me talking rubbish. So I have to cahnge the question how do I change the column height in the player profile screen. This seems to be set in another file than the xxx settings.xml file.
radestock
It must be set by the actual XML file. Try player profile personal attributes.xml from the panels.fmf file.

THFourteen
Hey Veg Did you get this to work by any chance?
Veg
Yes I found it, sometimes I want to kick my self for not trying before asking. It is done in the attributes xml files. Will release them when I've uploaded them.

Veg
Could be I've promised to much, the panels works on my netbook, but not my brothers even if we have the same resolution. But I'll upload it anyway so other can test it! http://www.filefront.com/14733721/player-profile-panels.rar/
Veg
I think the problem is the selection box underneath the player attributes. Radestock could you advice me on how to make it lower as it doesn't need to have the height it has now when I changed the row height?
radestock
I'd have to take a look. Not at home atm.
Veg
It would be really nice if you had a look and corrected the things that need to be corrected.

Veg
First of all download Radestocks base skin: http://community.sigames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=17 Then create a folder inside the base skin folder called panels, extract my files into that folder. vasilli07
If the skin is working, I'm not suppose to see any scrollbar on my player profile screen, am I right to say that?
Veg
Yep, but as I said earlier, this is down by chance as it works on my netbook, but not on my brothers. SO it could be that you get a negativ result..
vasilli07
hmm...then it didn't work on mine too...
Veg
Radestock might have a look and see if he can do something. We just have to wait.
radestock
Still not at home. Likely be there on Sunday with some spare time.
Veg
Radestock: Just do it when you have time to do so.
radestock
OK, so netbook resolution is WSVGA, ie 1024x600 right? If I have a window that big then the contents look like this: http://img42.imageshack.us/i/1024x600.jpg/ Nowhere near fitting everything in.
michaeltmurrayuk
I've managed to get it down to one line scrolling with a fair bit of work:
Veg
Could be that what needs to be done is to reduce the column height even more and then reduce the font size. Michael: It seems like the column height of the middle panel (fitnes and Int status) is at 20" height you could probably gain a bit reducing that height. vasilli07
Michael, do you think you can upload that? Thanks. :o
RaverDrew
I can't wait for a skin that'll work in netbook resolution, even if it's just a bodge... I'm stuck on a press conference and can't go any further lol
Veg
Michael: Is there a chance you could tell me how you got rid of the text between the buttons and player profile and atributes, and also tell me how I move the Player profile upwards closer to the buttons? The Sean
I can't wait for a skin that'll work in netbook resolution, even if it's just a bodge...I'm stuck on a press conference and can't go any further lol To get around this, I had to simply punch a bunch of different keys and then it said I 'gave a cagey press conference.' Oh well, I got through it. Another option is to hook your netbook to an external monitor.
