Hi everyone, basically I will be taking over CromScott's excellent work as he hasn't got the time to update anymore. New version coming soon. Please post any errors in this thread.

Credits: 'roi men' for sorting out all the Israeli leagues for me, and I believe JohMil deserves some credit for providing a hell of a lot of Spanish info. Also 'burnum' for putting in a lot of work on the German leagues. 'gdownson' has also provided some good research for the lower Italian leagues.

How to make it work

Right, I've lost count of the amount of times I've had to answer questions on how to make this work or where to put it, so here it is.

Download the file, do not try and open it! It is a .dbc file, which is a compressed version of .xml. Place the file in My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2010/editor data. Start a new game.

i have downloaded it and put it in editor data but the file says that it is an application not a XML document like the other files than i have edited in the editor so what do i do to get it to work, as it is really starting to annoy me!!!!!!!!!!!

Just open it like a normal file in the database editor. All it is is a compressed version of an XML file, otherwise the XML would be huge.

i give up i just cant get it to work!!!

Try and open it and upload a screenshot so I can see what the problem is. There has been no previous problems that I'm aware of, seeing as that link is from the original CromScott's thread.

I'll do my best to upload an update every Friday, although the one on the 16th will be uploaded on the 15th as I'm out all day then.

Something I'd like to ask your opinions on. This article on Paul Scholes was posted a little while ago: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11667_6226816,00.html and he indicated that this season is more than likely to be his last, however he didn't definitely say it would be. What would you guys like done with this?

A) Leave it and let him retire 'naturally' in-game

B) Set a retirement date to the end of the first season in-game

C) Set a retirement date to the end of the in-game 10/11 season

Because it defo didn't say it would be his last, i would go with A.

I'd go with B or C because he said that this season's more than likely to be his last. More than likely, afaik, is like 80%.

I'd go for option C so he retires at the correct age (assuming this season 2010/11 will be his last)

In a sense you are starting the game in the 10/11 season. All leagues will have the correct teams and all squads will have the same players. Its just not possible to make the game start a year later because its hard coded into the game.

good point, I guess as long as all the information is correct it doesnt matter what year it is.

I will be going all the way down to the Blue Square Premier in England with transfers and squad numbers. Will update as many international transfers as I can depending on how much information I can find.

I think a lot of people (including myself) are only really bothered about England and the top two divisions of the major European countries being updated. I for one am not bothered if a player in the Spanish fourth division is transfered to a club in the Spanish 3rd division.

There are people out there who will be bothered but you cant please everybody, and if said people have that kind of information all they have to do is provide it and it will be in. It always makes me laugh/mad when people complain about transfers not being in but say absolutely nothing about them.

Just posted some transfer sources in the transfers & updates topic, you could check there for Holland. Finland, Sweden and Germany.

As a United fan I hope he never retires but I think this season may be his last. Saying that though, I think he should retire in game at the same time so I'd choose option C so you still have him for 2 years.

Do you know how the reps were calcualted? just trying to find out if they were a guesstimate or based on a FM calculation that you are aware of

A guesstimate without being stupidly biased as far as I know, and if there is an FM calculation, I very much doubt SI would release the details of it.

You need to delete the second http// from your link for it to work.

As for your problem, you haven't extracted the update. You need WINRAR or 7-ZIP

Suggy, it won't be in this version, but I'll try and get the transfers in over the next few updates.

I've done all the German first division, all of England and most of the English squad numbers so far. I'll get as much done as I can by tomorrow evening and then release the update.

Ive just told you what it is. You need to download either WINRAR or 7-zip to extract the database. Then you can put it into the Editor Data folder and it will work

crusader12- google and download 'WinRAR'. Install it. Then, open the file you downloaded from here, click on the file inside and click the 'extract to' button on the toolbar. Choose desktop and click 'ok'. Let it extract, then close WinRAR. Move the file from your desktop to the editor data folder.

I was waiting for the usual 'where do i get WinRAR from' question. Its like people suddenly lose the ability and common sense to use google........until they want to find a celebrity sex tape then common sense comes back all of a sudden

Owen Hargreaves is injured AGAIN. He's back in America seeing a specialist and there is no indication as to when he will be back. Maybe try to give him an injury that will keep him out until October.

Already done Along with known injuries for the Premier League so far. Really doesn't look good for Hargreaves, early retirement could be on the way

I think it would be for the best. Has he not heard of our financial situation. All these trips to specialists and paying his wages for nothing must be making a hole

I'm having a bit of trouble with the Npower competition name, even though its set in the editor as the npower championship, and the previous cromscott download had npower, when i start a new game with 7.5 it just goes back to coca cola. I probably have to download a competition name fix but cant remember which one. Any ideas?

Just run a test and it works fine for me, so I'm not sure what the problem is there. New release tomorrow so see if it works then.

And Deano, I think you made the facepack for the new youngsters, why in my game is Raheem Sterling's picture one of an old guy? Haha. I'm using the latest update, btw.

Thats because when a new player is made he gets a unique ID number. My guess is your using the facepack but also using a different update so the unique ID for the players will be different. Either that or the Unique ID's in the config file are wrong.

From looking at your screen shot, you have already extracted the database. If the file ends in .xml or .dbc then its done. You just need to move this file to the editor data folder....

as you can see it is in the editor data folder- Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\editor data
