I have been told by a fellow manager that the game against him is "a must win if I am to continue my march towards the title" which seems silly seen as though there are 8 games left and I am clear 13 points at the top. sigh

8 games left means there is 24 points left to play for so even though you are 13 points in front you could still have a massive dip in form and loose the league.

Yeah, I'd still say it's a bit rubbish on the part of the opposing manager though, if that's the best mind games he can play.

You sometimes get it eight games INTO the season, which is plain daft.

I dont' see the problem. You have 24 points left to play for and are only about half of that in the lead. If you lost the game (or drew depending on the opposition), you may suffer in the run-in.

Classic Fergie mind-games. Although that late in the season he usual says "ok, they've won", but it's still viable.
