AcidBurn
I was wondering does the salary cap increase over the seasons or not? Also when it comes to designated/marquee signings do you actually offer that sort of contract? I am sure on FM10 that the marquee player in the A-League defaulted to the highest paid player in your team. This meant I could only offer around 5k with Wellington for my marquee signing, is it still the same?
Manden
According to this the salary cap does increase over seasons. With regard to the marquee signings, I have no idea
rancer890
The MLS salary cap increases, as well as the minimum wage for players as well. Not sure about A-League though!
AcidBurn
What about designated players rancer? If I saw someone I wanted and had a free DP slot would I actually be able to offer a big wage to the player?
William Hall
Yeah you can, both in the MLS (for a long time) and now here in the A-League.
rancer890
What about designated players rancer? If I saw someone I wanted and had a free DP slot would I actually be able to offer a big wage to the player? DP contracts always depended on how much free wage budget you have. DPs still take up a set value of cap space and I don't think that's increased as the cap goes up.
cerud
DP contracts count for $325 000 against your salary cap, the highest you're able to pay a senior level contract.
AcidBurn
So in the MLS is would not be possible to offer a player £60,000 a week?
magicmastermind124
Yes it is possible, $325,000 p/a of that £60,000 p/w salary goes against the salary cap and you must name that player as one of your designated players, the maximum of which you can have is 3.
