Why is this?

I bought a player for 3m. But all of this was under monthly installments (12 months). My transfers budget was 4.5m before, and now it's 1m. I thought the idea was it went down every month as you paid the installments?

because it takes the full amount of the first 12 months of instalments when the transfer is completed... if you'd done it over 48 months you'd only have lost 750k from your budget

Everything that you will pay in the first 12 months will come out of the transfer budget immediately. If it is over 48 months, the second 12 installments will go out at the start of year 2 and so on.

Just to clarify Fraz's point.

It won't actually go out of your budget in years 2/3/4 but it will be allowed for before you are given your budget at the start of each season.

I presume also any fee you pay the agent and player comes out of the transfer budjet as well?
