lieves
My current PC is bought in 2005 and has this features: -2 Veritech SDRAM 512 MB - 400 Mhz -Intel PIV HT 800Mhz - 2MB Cache (3,2 Ghz) -Sapphire ATI X700PRO, 256MB I don't know if this is enough information, if not please tell me what i need to post. My goal is to play all competitions with the largest possible database. So should I improve my current PC? And if so, how? Or should I pay more to buy a complete new PC? And if so, wich? Kind regards
BurakUeda
New one.... I don't think you can find any upgrade parts for that PC, even if you do they would be very expensive. Or, if you buy a new CPU you have to change the motherboard, and memory, and GPU, most likely the case too. And PSU. So, buying a new one is your best bet. If you can give me a budget, where you're living and what kind of programs/games you are using, I can help.
FrazT
It is very rare that updating a 6 year old computer will be either practical or worthwhile, so I would suggest that you discount that option. If you want to play all leagues with the largest, database you will need to spend a great deal of money on a top of the range computer, so I would also suggest that that option is impractical, unless money isnt a problem. Have a look at the min specs for the game and use that as a base to start your search, but most modern machines, priced at around 500 UK pounds will do a good job with the game, with a good range of leagues selected. Try to buy a machine with a dedicated graphics card rather than an integrated one as this will handle the 3D graphics better.
markyosullivan
How can you tell if a PC is good or not? :o
david.hickey
I have a tri core 3.4Ghz processor, 4GB ram, 512mb intergrated graphics. 3d matches are poor, and i am recomended to use a database of 17000 max. for the full database on all competitions, you would need a monster of a machine. im quite happy with it on 3 countries and a few leagues with a database of about 22000. runs quite quick too. good luck

Ronnie~
I would buy a new pc, like someone posted it will be far too expensive to upgrade your current. try using overclockers.co.uk - i found them really good for prices with a wide range of systems for different budgets. santy001
www.aria.co.uk www.novatech.co.uk www.cclonline.com www.overclockers.co.uk Four companies who generally try to compete with each other so there is usually good value to be found on one of them at one time or another. I often look through those and see which is cheapest for what I'm after as prices change regularly.
lieves
Many thanks. Money isn't a problem. And I don't mind long waiting times because I play FM 2010 with this PC, have large database and all competitions. So I'am used to the waiting. Watch TV while playing. What do you guys suggest i should buy? And what is the most important? My goal is to play the next FM (2012) with all competitions and large database. Suggestions? Thanks

x42bn6
Getting a new one is best. But if you are willing to wait, you might want to boost your memory to 2 GB which is the maximum for most motherboards in that era (do check before you buy, of course) which will give you a nice big boost - and this memory upgrade will be quite cheap. For example, my PC is slightly faster than yours, and 2x1 GB sticks of RAM for my laptop will cost around £25 (http://www.crucial.com/uk/upgrade/compatible-memory-for/Dell/Inspiron+6400/list.html) (I bought it a while back for around £30 I think). And it made a huge difference (512 MB => 2 GB) and added a full year or so to it (it was unbearable before).
