barka_legend
Every club has debts from loans/gifts/transfers.. All these are implemented in the game, yet when we gather millions upon millions, we never have the option to just pay any of this off and take the strain off of our monthly outgoings.. Why? jod123
The loan is more than it says on in the one figure on the finances screen. That is only the principal. The interest payments can total much more than the principal.

Because its not your job as manager. Sometimes the board will but you can't do anything to encourage them.

pelicanstuff
Also, early repayment charges on corporate loans/mortgages tend to be prohibitively high.
Lord Rowell
Every club has debts from loans/gifts/transfers.. All these are implemented in the game, yet when we gather millions upon millions, we never have the option to just pay any of this off and take the strain off of our monthly outgoings.. Why? In the real world of finance, this simply isn't always an option. If its an overdraft, then it can be paid off. If its a loan, the bank will expect to get the full return of interest paid over the duration of the loan (that's how they make a profit). Also, some clubs raise finance through bond issues (e.g. the Glazers at Man Utd). For the bond purchaser (the loanee), the whole point is that they get the full interest for the duration of the bond, so again early redemption isn't an option.
