Bosson Posted June 7, 2010 Share Posted June 7, 2010 Yeah, it would be good if the player in question came to you/the board and said 'I want to play <Team X> because I supported them as a boy, <Team Y> because I think they will bring in a big gate, <Team Z> because...' And you could choose from this shortlist. You could also refuse a testimonial if you didn't like the player I suppose, might bring an extra dimension. I've been at the same club now for quite some time and have had a lot of players play for me for over 10 years. Loyalty is my thing! Some want to play boyhood clubs, some just want it to be a pre-season friendly. I've tried to arrange these as friendlies. Once arranged one for my 40-year-old Finnish right-winger legend in January against the club I signed him from (Tampere United) before he retired... Then he got injured.
