do you players on the game because of how the perform in real life?

as the title suggest do you play anyone because of their form irl, or do you not play anyone because of form irl i have been playing berbatov on the game recently and he is playing well, i've had the game since it came out and have sold him every time i've been man u maybe i should of kept him lol

That would give some problems because all the players in game are regens by now. Otherwise: nope.

I don't really care how they do in real life if they are good on FM. The only thing close to this is I may see a few players in real life and then look them up on FM if they looks good I buy them. This has happened with various players from Spain due to watching lots of Spanish football on Sky over the last few years.

If the stats accurately reflected their ability then I would be tempted, for example at Arsenal I might actually use Vermaelen, Song or Eboue (Diaby can be suspect in the game and irl).

when i first got the game i used to buy/sell players because of their current form in real life...i used to sell berbatov, nani and owen whenever i played at man u but i started a save and kept them for a season...nani was excellent owen was on fire berbs was so-so...ended up selling him the following year anyway....but now i go by their fm ratings
