How to buy top players?

How do you buy top players for a decent price? Ive seen people say you can buy top players for 40 million(i normally pay about 120 million :O ) so how do you guys do it?

It's hard to do it on this version of FM, i find you have bid 3x there value sometimes. A few people have said, we have Real Madrid in real life to thank for this ...

Unless they are transfer listed of course, then you can get them for the asking price the team set. (which is usually a reasonable price) or a little cheaper.

try to get on the favoured personnel list with the manager of the team and the player in question, that should help get the price down a bit. and with luck you can unsettle the player

depends on the player, ive had the likes of villa, fabregas, mata, chiellini, silva in the first season for between 40 and 60 million, which to me aint too much for world class players, if youv got the money anyway. but the likes of ronaldo and messi youd need top side of 150, at least. but i reckon thats probably true to real life. but always look out for minimum fee clauses, and as above posts have said build up positive relationships with the players

wait until the players enter the last year of their contract, look for any top players at teams that are underperforming, or try and unsettle them.
