Valo
Hey, I'm new to FM09, I'm just starting my second season - how do I arrange pre-season friendlies? Also, is there any way that you can apply for a managerial position if unemployed?
Somerandomguy
Go to team, fixtures and click on arrange friendly. To apply for a job, click on the team page and bottom left should be a button "apply for job". Press that.
La Furia Roja
all oyu need to do is go to your teams fixtures list, click the arrange friendly and just folloow the steps (choose date, team rules etc) Yes you can apply for jobs, even whilst still empleyed, although its not a good idea as fans and board will get angry and you will probably get sacked. All you need to do is go to job centre and sort by security, the available one will be at top, also very insecure etc you can declare interest in job and they may sack the manager and approcah you! Hope it helps
Valo
Thanks both of you
ssestig
For friendlies: Go to your squad screen and click on the + next to your team and you'll find squad, tactics and fixtures in a drop-down menu. Click on fixtures then click on a date for the fixture and go to the option on the right of the screen to select a team. Applying for a job: If unemployed, go to your manager's overview. If you have a job, go to the job centre and the list should be on there or the opton below it.

Valo
Yes But now I have another question - anyone know why everyone are rejecting my friendlies?
ssestig
Who are you playing as mate? What reputation is that club?
Valo
I'm Real Madrid, don't think there will be reputation problems there. I tried in England - from a Premiership, a Championship, a League 2 and a non-league, but all rejected, and so were the others :|
ssestig
Do you have the English leagues loaded? If so, there may be a clash of fixtures or they may have a match within a few days of the dates that have chosen.

RDXCougar8173
best thing to do is let your assistant manager arrange all friendlies
La Furia Roja
not really as they often arrange to many, i once had my asst man arrange them, they had uefa quals and he had organised 3 games in 4 days. I never let him do it, always play your own, you also then have more control over rules and venues
