Scouting assignments

Hi all.

First of all apologies if this has been brought up before, I'll be honest I didn't search.

Is there a way with scouting assignments for me to tell my chief scout the position I want him to scout for, and then he decide who to assign that request to. From playing around with this, it seems it's an all or nothing approach. I can either completely manage the scouting element and dictate what I want scouting and by who, or I can hand over to my staff to handle assignments but that also removes my ability to state what I actually want. Am I missing something or is that correct?

You are correct, all or nothing.

I think you can set a short-term focus for the team to scout for a particular position or role. They will still scout a broader selection, but focus on the particular request for a set period of time.

Am I wrong in thinking that seems a bit backward with the setup of it?

Short term focus does exactly what you describe. Why don't you use that?

That's what I'm using, but correct me if I'm wrong, that's still only available if you take control of the assignments?

No It isn't, you can assign short term focus even if the assignments are handled by someone else.

Actually I've realised that's something different but cannot for the life of me find it
