Non Contract Players - 7 day approach

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Just a quick one from my experience in non-league football.

As it stands in game you can offer a player on non contract at a club a contract straight away and could potentially nab a player in a day.

In real life this doesn't happen, certainly not in England. You need to put in a 7 day approach, which may be waived by the club receiving the approach if they wish.

At this point, in game, you could let the player know they've had an approach and persuade them to stay. I think this could be easily implementable in game and would sooth those frustrating times when managing an amateur or semi-pro club when one second you have a player, the next he's at your rivals.

Thoughts?

In that scenario where one of my  players on a non contract gets offers from else where , and i want to keep him, ill offer him a new non contract on same or slightly higher terms and 9/10 he stays, unless of course the offering club is bigger and offers more money. This does lead to a frustrating game of cat and mouse though as you end up offering multiple new non contracts through the year to stave of other clubs so i do agree that having the option to persuade him to stay without having a new contract offer would be better.

At the same time however, i do nick other clubs players on non contract so works both ways i guess
