jere_d
Ok so way back in fm 14 or 15 I had this free agent wonderkid offered to me by his agent. It was just after the English youth intake and he had been at some English non league team and for some reason they had not agreed a contract. Since then nothing remotely similar has occurred which makes me wonder whether this was a freak occurrence, whether this was taken out of the game or whether this still happens. I did think it made a sense since youth players move around so much nowadays.
turnip
I'd be surprised if it happens often. My guess is that the player's ability has to be pretty high and his club's reputation has to be pretty low and he has to have an agent (which not every young player does). The more common scenario is that a newgen makes enough progress while on a Youth contract that he refuses to sign a regular contract once he's eligible.
