qwertygod
Introduction "It would appear as if the newly-formed Glasgow club, the Celtic F.C., has a bright future before it."Newspaper report of Celtic's first game (1888) "The unconditional support of the best fans on the continent." El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona (before UEFA Cup game in 2004) "Celtic have reinvented football. It was a beautiful night of football. We thank Celtic and are grateful to Real Madrid for being worthy of the occasion. The Scots played stronger and better and deserved their victory. May the football which Celtic play stay among us. Amen."Marca Spanish Newspaper (1967) (Alfredo Di Stefano Testimonial) The Celtic Football Club (/ˈsɛltɪk/ SEL-tik) is a professional football club based in Glasgow, Scotland, which plays in the Scottish Premiership. The club was founded in 1887[nb 1] with the purpose of alleviating poverty in the immigrant Irish population in the East End of Glasgow. They played their first match in May 1888, a friendly match against Rangers which Celtic won 5–2. Celtic established itself within Scottish football, winning six successive league titles during the first decade of the 20th century. The club enjoyed their greatest successes during the 1960s and 70s under Jock Stein when they won nine consecutive league titles and the European Cup. Celtic have won the Scottish league championship on 48 occasions, most recently in the 2016–17 season, the Scottish Cup 37 times and the Scottish League Cup 17 times. The club's greatest season was 1966–67, when Celtic became the first British team to win the European Cup, also winning the Scottish league championship, the Scottish Cup, the League Cup, and the Glasgow Cup. Celtic also reached the 1970 European Cup Final, and the 2003 UEFA Cup Final. Celtic have a long-standing fierce rivalry with Rangers, and the clubs have become known as the Old Firm, seen by some as the world's biggest football derby.[2] The two clubs have dominated Scottish football, winning 102 league titles between them since the inception of Scottish league football in 1890. The club's fanbase was estimated in 2003 as being around nine million worldwide, and there are in excess of 160 Celtic supporters clubs in over 20 countries. An estimated 80,000 fans travelled to Seville for the 2003 UEFA Cup Final.
qwertygod
Going to be playing this save along with the York one. Ultimately the goal here is to try and win the champions league and bring through players to potentially win a WC with Scotland. The team has tons of depth. Won't be looking to sign anyone this year. Going to sell some players and try and find long term replacements for Roberts , Gordon and Brown. Stoke offered obscene money for RB Lustig , great player in this game but got to let him go. Same is true of Nir Bitton , i like the lad however he doesn't fit into my system. Delighted to get a big name like Santon in on loan from Italian Giants Inter The Squad Goalkeepers Gordon will do for a couple of seasons. Defenders Decent depth here. Tierney is one of the best young prospects in europe. Ajer is also one for the future. The likes of Gamboa and Simunovic offer good depth. Midfielders Brown is a quality player. Roberts , Sinclair and Armstrong are all players with immense quality. Rogic can also impact games with his talent. The likes of McGregor , Forrest and Ntcham also offer good depth and can be part of a rotation. Strikers Dembele is in a class of his own , the likes of Monaco , Marseille and Lyon were sniffing around him instantly. Edouard will be a good options in case of injuries but i don't see him getting much game time. Tactics This will be my bread and butter tactic against domestic opponents. I am likely to change roles depending on roatations within the squad due to injury. Will use this one against better opposition but not totally outclassing us This tactic will be reserved for games where defence is a must. Your Barcelona , PSG away type games. Brendan take notes. Preseason Happy enough with this. Defence looks rock solid. Lets not get carried away though.
qwertygod
Champions League Quals This is the kind of game the referee calls early when you are at school. That feeling when you are 2-0 and 10-0 up on agg 82 seconds into the game. What a beatdown , going to have to get used to smacking down this kind of riff-raff early on in Europe. August Convincingly beat everyone besides raith, Its a sad day when raith are the only team to give you a game , They are in Ladbrokes League 1 5 points clear in the league after 4 games. We get a UCL Group of Juventus , FC Porto and Dynamo Kiev. That is a very achievable 2nd place and i would be dissapointed not to get at least 3rd. September Fantastic performance sees us take 3 points. This is poor even by Rangers standards. Fantastic performance to a man right from the first whistle. Much better performance by rangers here but we made some tactical changes , we were able to penetrate in the 2nd half with a more direct approach and maintain our 100.00% record in all competitions ahead of a real challenge in Turin. Absolutely gutting result. 4-1 flatters them , we missed alot of good chances. They scored 2 penalties , 2 rebounds (one off the post and one from Gordon saving). Its like history repeats itself or something
qwertygod
October Still perfection domestically St Johnstone made us work to the final minutes but onto the Final we go! Cold , Driven and Ruthless performance. Johnny Hayes is lights out in the Champions League so far. Winning the return leg in ukraine makes progress all but assured barring some almighty collapse vs Porto. We held on in the end. Ajer was far better than the ingame rating suggests. Hearts are a different team lately. What a difference a month makes.
qwertygod
November Dissapointing in the league this month. Dropped 4 points , winning only 1 of 3 league games. Very poor , teams are making it difficult for us. Championees , Championees Ole Ole Ole! Dembele is a class act. Unbelievable performance here. We came roaring in and were up 3-0 comfortably before Sinclair got sent off for a vicious challenge. We held on in the end. Getting a deserved 4th was crucial here. Rangers are hot on our tails. We cannot afford to drop more points if rangers keep us up this kind of form
qwertygod
December Games starting to come thick and thin. No time for consistency here. Perfect month 18/18 points in the league including 2 tough away ties in edinburgh. The ending at Easter Road was a cracker! 5 Points clear with a game in hand. Going well i would say. Juventus A glory night at parkhead. We set up in a counter attacking style similar to the game in Turin. We made no mistake this time. Simunovic was outstanding in the Abscence of Ajer , and Sviatchenko made amends for the horror show he put on before. What an outstanding achievement. This team could be destined for glory. Assuming we get through Bayern of course We sell Leigh Griffiths. Cant risk keeping him around as he is starting to disrupt the squad due to not being the main starter. qwertygod
January Nothing like an Old firm Beatdown at parkhead. Dembele gone. Dortmund matched the min fee release clause I stupidly agreed to it earlier in the year to keep him happy after interest from the big french clubs. The forgotten man Edouard will need to step up now. Got this kid on loan from Arsenal , good ball playing centreback , exactly the kind of player we need. Sold Boyata for 1.3mill to Sheff Wed.
qwertygod
February Tough month. 1-0 loss away to Bayern gives us a chance at home. Kilmarnock played well and we couldnt score the equaliser so we lose our unbeaten domestic status. Youth Intake Day Only 3 players will be offered deals. Forsyth looks like a quality player who can contribute right away.

qwertygod
April We did it , we did it! Barry Forsyth scores a stunning finish on his debut. Second half we were just marvellous. We defended bravely. We now must play Atletico Madrid. I will enjoy kicking them off the park 1974 style.
qwertygod
Champions League Madrid progress 3-1 on aggregate. They were just too good in the return leg. Domestic Old Firm Clashes Rangers rarely troubled us this year. Winning the league vs Rangers with Barry Forsyth being named MOTM was a great moment. Scottish Cup Final Barry Forsyth starting to make a name for himself in the big games. At that age he has a UCL Knockout stages goal and now 2 cup final goals. Going to be difficult to keep this squad together. Our u19 squad lost in the final of the u19 champions league final , yet finish 6th in the scottish youth leagues , go figure. Absolute zoomers on the board. This kind of stuff SI really need to fix. Can't even tell if serious.
