Lord Duffucus
Since the sliders were disposed of, I've struggled to find a way to get some individuals with high 'long shot' stats to shoot from long range. My style of play tends to be short passing at a decent tempo and in an attacking mentality, which wins me plenty, but whereas before if I had a player with a 16/17 long shot rating or whatever I'd click his slider to shoot from long range more often, I can't do that anymore. Is it a case of telling them to 'shoot more often' in the player instructions and if so would that not disrupt the general team instructions? If I've got someone who can leather one in from 30 yards regularly I may as well make him do it!
HUNT3R
If a player isn't shooting enough, just ask him to "shoot more often".
Lord Duffucus
But how about specifically getting them to just shoot more from long range?
HUNT3R
That is how you do it. In the old "sliderese" the instruction "shoot more often" moves the long shot slider from rarely to sometimes or from sometimes to often.
rover7895
I used to have a CM who had 18 on long shots. I just told him to shoot more and also to roam more often. I think it worked as he seemed to shoot a lot more when he was in space.
Soccer
Do you have 'work ball into box'? If you have, maybe you want to disable it, so that your players are more prone to shooting from range. Perhaps you want to include the 'shoot on sight' command as well?
Negatrev
You can also ask a coach to train them in the long shots trait (if they haven't already got it).
