blowcrapup
Regen Experiment The purpose of this experiment is to see how much of an effect Youth Tournaments have on Regen creation. I decided to start this experiment after playing the Super League Small Club to Big Club challenge and noticing I wasn't getting any regens through. I did a brief experiment where I counted the number of regens that had come through in that here. The results can be found here - http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=170071/post#65. I concluded that based on this, youth tournaments had some effect on the amount of regens made. This lead me to decide to see how much of an effect Youth Tournaments do have on regen creation. I have created four new nations each one with different criteria. Each Nation will have as default a league featuring eight teams and a national cup. Each League will also have a specific set up for youth. I have decided to leave each side’s youth facilities as they are. This will allow me to see how youth tournaments effect regen numbers and quality. I have also deleted every team other than ones I have placed into the leagues. Nation Break Down Nation 1 – Aruba Aruba is the control nation for the experiment. This means that they have the standard league format of a Premier League and a FA Cup. Aruba also has a Youth League and a Youth Cup. Each of the 8 sides in the league also has an U20 side. It is this U20 side that is in the Youth Competitions. The entire sides are made up of regens so when the experiment starts I will make a note of the number of players in each side. The Aruban nation side only has 2 players in it both of which play in Holland. There are no players in the Under 20 side. Aruba is a full FIFA member so we can see if having a league does them any good. Nation 2 – Barbados Barbados has absolutely no youth set up what so ever. Barbados has more “real” players than Aruba and is also a full FIFA member. They are in this to see what effect having no Youth Tournaments have on regens. Nation 3 – St Lucia St Lucia is the nation of the future. In addition to the ordinary Youth League it also has an additional youth league and an additional 6 Youth Cups. I have tried to balance it out but it will be interesting to see how they deal with the fixture congestion. I will explain the tournament details later. St Lucia are a full FIFA member with few real players. Nation 4 – Cuba Cuba is a late addition to the experiment. Cuba will have the same set up as Aruba however they will be hit with strict homegrown player limits. This is to see if this will have an effect on regens. Cuba is the only side that will have other things edited. The only thing I will edit is the league standard of the country to attempt to lure foreigners there. This is only to make sure that the homegrown status actually means something. The homegrown rule will only be in place for the Premier League and FA Cup. The youth competitions will have no restrictions other than the U19 rule. Cuba has the strongest of all of the International sides so it could be interesting. Hopefully this mix of things will show how Youth Tournaments have on the number and quality of regens.

blowcrapup
I have just discovered I messed up Cuba and instead of playing each other 4 times they only play each other twice. I am going to redo the first season as all the leagues need to be equal. I will update all the above information if it changes. Edit: Luckily there were only a few changes. All of the places now have a player with a PA of 50+

Number of Non-Cuban Players in League. 0 ------------------------- St Lucia Number of Regens : 207 (+63) CA of X or above: 190 : 0 180 : 0 170 : 0 160 : 0 150 : 0 140 : 0 130 : 0 120 : 0 110 : 0 100 : 0 90 : 0 80 : 0 70 : 0 60 : 0 50 : 0 PA of X or above: 190 : 0 180 : 0 170 : 0 160 : 0 150 : 0 140 : 0 130 : 0 120 : 0 110 : 0 100 : 0 90 : 0 80 : 0 70 : 0 60 : 0 50 : 2 (+1) Where are they based? St Lucia: 207 (+63) - An explanation of the numbers. The first number is the total number of regens in the area. The number after (e.g. +63) is how many more (or less) there are this year. So the 207 here is the 144 from the start plus 63 that came through this year. Star Players None so far. --------------------------------------------- As you can see each nation has increased the number of regens by an almost equal amount. Each team in each league has had roughly 7 regens through this year. Cuba now has the first person with a PA above 70. This has brought something up. As I edited the league standard I may have caused an adverse effect. Rather than the Cuban sides being able to attract more foreigners they may simply produce better regens. Ihave just had a quick look and they are no foreigners playing in Cuba. I will keep track of this number as the seasons go on.

Yeah the 206 are the total number of regens playing in that area and the number in brackets is the number of new regens this year.
ozzymanborn
Great experiment. Because regen creation and quality in Custom leagues seems to have some problems and this experiment maybe will show the correct way.
