SEASON 2024-2025 | MAY Almost perfect end of the season. We finished 4th in the league, won first European trophy in Wolves history and were very close to FA Cup trophy.

Opposition passes per defensive actions. Agree with OP, I`m confused with this too. Though if in FM it`s treated as ppda IRL, this answers my question why with high press I always have higher numbers of oppda than opposition who sits in his own half.

SEASON 2024-2025 | APRIL Excellent month. Three very important wins in PL including shocking 4-0 over one of the main competitors for UCL place Chelsea. Race for 4th place is going to be very interesting. Also big win in FA cup against Everton and chance to double cup finals this season If we go through Galatasaray.

SEASON 2024-2025 | MARCH March was memorable for a beautiful Europa league comeback against Gladbach and a surprising win over City in the FA cup. I can only blame myself for the defeat to Brighton. SEASON 2024-2025 | FEBRUARY Tough run of fixtures in February as we are playing on three fronts. After defeat on Emirates we changed our tactical approach (though keeping 4-2-3-1 shape) and in next matches I saw some pleasant changes in our game. More dangerous attacking movements and more solid support from the back.

SEASON 2024-2025 | JANUARY Transfer window We needed some temporary variants due to injures of Ait-Nouri and Cunha. A bit disappointed by the unnecessary loss of points in the matches with Leicester and Everton, but in the FA Cup and Europa League everything is good, we move forward both there and there.

SEASON 2024-2025 | DECEMBER A very busy month. Not only the number of matches, but also the level of opponents. We had a very decent run, beating Chelsea and Man United, as well as strong Newcastle and finish the year sensationally in top-3.

SEASON 2024-2025 | NOVEMBER After 6-0 win over Brighton our performance slightly downgraded but nothing critical.

SEASON 2024-2025 | SEPTEMBER A very difficult month with two tough games in the EPL against top teams. We had a good debut in the Europa league, but at the same time we are already out of the League Cup in the first round.

Man City were not keen on keeping him and let him go for a very modest fee. Alex McCarthy - very experienced keeper signed on one-year contract for backup slot. But an outstanding second half lifted us almost to the Europa zone and if we didn't suffer an upset defeat to Luton in the last game of the season, we could be looking at continental football next season." SEASON 2023-2024 | MAY We were on the verge of qualifying for continental football next season but Cunha's totally inappropriate and dirty tackle followed by red card in the match against Luton denied us the chance to climb into the top 6. But there's no need to be discouraged. Maybe it's a bit early for us to go to Europe, given the issues in the defensive line. We'll likely have to overhaul 80% of it this summer, provided we have the necessary finances.

SEASON 2023-2024 | APRIL I see absolutely new level of our performance. Somehow we found stability in defence even with very average players there. And in attack we always have chances with guys like Neto, Cunha and of course "King of the air" Kalajdzic, who is one of the main openings in EPL this season. We've already accomplished board`s main objective for the season and now even can qualify for the Europe if we will be able to keep the form in last three matches with West Ham, Brighton and Luton.

In FM23 and in FM24 I also found it hard to be stable defensively using 4231 even with mid-block. you could try it but don`t forget about downside - leaving more space between the lines. May not work with teams attacking through the middle. In FM23 this instruciton worked fine for me in 4-3-3 but DM protected the mid-space well. not the best idea in 4231 sttretching the d-line without protection in the middle. Increasing press intensity could work, but I would avoid it against top-class wide players. good idea If your defenders have good pace, acceleration and anticipation. But I would also suggest to drop down to mid-block in this case to creat congestion in the middle of the pitch. Combo Higher D-line - Mid-block worked great for me in fm23 but with 4-3-3. I dont think you will notice big difference in positioning your players out of posession with droping mentality. Probably your side will be quite less agressive pressing the opponent and less risky with the ball than on positive. if you team cohesion and tactical familiarity is high then I doubt about you will concede less without any tweaks. So in my experience proactive and high-pressing football with 4-2-3-1 will cost you some problems in defence anyway unless you have world-class players on each position.

SEASON 2023-2024 | MARCH Another good month with two wins in a league and decent performance in FA cup. Tottenham looked much better and won deservedly but we fought till the end. YOUTH INTAKE Niskanen is the only one who deserves attention in this intake.

SEASON 2023-2024 | FEBRUARY It's safe to say we caught a lucky break. I couldn`t say these were perfect matches but we were clinical in attack, largely thanks to set pieces and Kalajdzic.

SEASON 2023-2024 | JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW Players Out Players In Patrick Berg - huge upgrade to our midfield line. He is true Model Citizen after all. Destiny Ugodie - With Ait-Nouri constantly getting injures we needed another option on left side of defence. Ugodie lost his place in struggling Tottenham and agreed loan move to our club. What a start oof the year! Our alternative 5-2-3 tactic helped us a lot in first three matches. I still think that it`s plan B but this plan is definitely good. This winning streak create a little handicap between us and teams below, but we have 15 matches ahead and everything could happen.

SEASON 2023-2024 | DECEMBER Very tough calendar in December, 5 matches with top clubs. In almost all these matches we were in the game but our efforts didn`t bring points except for 1 point at Tottenham stadium. First leg in the league is behind and we meet expectations, no more or no less.
