  1. Apologies - it is the 5122DM which seems to be very popular in the Danish Superliga - seem to be coming up against it frequently as FB Kobenhavn so think there's a chance it's defaulting as the 'defensive formation' for a fair few where there's not any data? Genuinely surprised that formations are randomised where there's no data - it really did seem like the 5-3-2 was omnipresent in FM22 (I ended up going into the editor and randomly assigning formations myself in the leagues I was going to manage in owing to the repetition and negativity) so probably jumped to conclusions a little. Hope that i've just been unlucky in the beta and that there will be more variety of formation on my future saves.
  2. Been an issue for a few iterations now but there seems to be a lot of clubs/managers who have their 'preferred formation/defensive/offensive/2nd preferred formation' defaulting to 5-3-2 if the research team haven't provided the data. Can the default please be set to something more generic - 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 perhaps - rather than one of the most negative formations available? In my save in the Danish league, i'm just coming up against this brutally boring formation week after week. To illustrate what I mean, this is a screenshot showing the data for a random club from the FM22 editor - looks like nothing has changed in FM23:
  3. Like the look of Gimnasia's Benjamín Domínguez. Seems to have the potential to develop a very complete game - ability, aggression, graft, flair and pace.
  4. August Mikkelsen of Tromso looks very good - should be available for around £2.5m:
  5. Not one for the big leagues but Bayirkan looks like he could be a silky creator in lower maybe even middle-ranking competitions. Has just signed for Eyupspor so probably going nowhere until January.
  6. Shame about the lack of flair as otherwise, looks a fine prospect: Really like the look of Boyomo - has a £3.4m release clause in my game:
  7. Think there are a few random attributes involved here but Brondby's boy wonder Oscar Schwartau looks a talent - recently became the youngest player in Danish Superliga history and 2nd youngest goalscorer IRL. Certainly looks to have high CA for his age and given his exploits, you'd suspect decent PA to match.
  8. Player Name : José Córdoba Position : Centre Back Age : 21 Club : Levski Asking Price : £130k - 1.3m Seemingly forms a Gambian/Panamanian central defensive partnership with the Sandberg (posted above) in Sofia! Bit raw but looks to have potential, imo.
  9. For completeness, some of the Nordic league's biggest prospects have been mentioned in the 'Hidden Gems' thread - Schjelderup, Vetlesen, Bergvall - whilst some of the region's finest following the final FM22 DB patch - Bardghji, Gulliksen, Finndell, Ronning - all look unchanged (I think?). Of those boosted in FM23 and not covered elsewhere, Kurtulus looks a solid centre back: Molde's Anders Borset looks a good prospect for a left-sided ball-playing centre back: Not sure if he's eligible being as he's not playing in the region anymore but Luka Hyrylainen in Hoffenheim's u19s looks very interesting although he does start the game with a long-term injury:
  10. Couple of more obvious ones but thread would be incomplete without them, imo: Player Name : Josip Sutalo Position : Central Defender Age : 22 Club : Dinamo Zagreb Value : £10 - 15m Asking Price : ~£13m Player Name : Arda 'Juan Roman' Guler Position : The purest of number 10s Age : 17 Club : Fenerbahce Value : £8 - 10M Asking Price : ~£9M Bit of an experiment in how the engine can handle a player with outrageous natural gifts but entirely lacking the ability or inclination to run. If it's anything like the FM22 one, imagine the answer is 'not very well at all' but expect he'll still rack up assists from corners and free-kicks.
  11. Screenshots for Erakovic and Sali; former very good, latter possibly has good potential but very little stands out at the start of the game: Don't have the Serbian league loaded so other 2 mentioned aren't on my save
  12. Seems that about every third FM, Egypt is a bit of a goldmine for mid-level talent; posted Zizo above and teammates Ahmed Aboul Fatouh and especially Emam Ashour look good too: Dieng looks a decent midfield battle too (think that determination is random):
  13. Erakovic is very good, probably the biggest talent in the Serbian league in Fm23. Sali looks good for his age and seems to have potential but he's got 12s for everything important so seems a little ill-defined and generic; young Romanian league players always seem to be rated very cautiously for their technical attributes, imo. Will post screenshots when I get chance (unless someone beats me to it!).
  14. Bergvall looks the latest of the Bromma production line: Couple of Norwegians who've been good for a couple of additions look to have been given nice boosts in Vetlesen and Mannsverk: Morgalla seems very decent so can't imagine he'll remain in the German third tier for long:
  15. Possibly in a bit of a gilded cage owing to fairly high wages and transfer value but still, Zizo looks very good indeed:
