  1. No, nobody needs to take it easy. People just demands a good, logical game. Is every throw-in causes possesion in real life football? Then, why every throw in causes trouble in a "football manager simulation"? Stop behaving like this. Unbelieveable, you guys says it's 10 year old news. So, just fix the damn thing. This game is a monopoly in the industry and what we got? Ten year old unfixed problems. Stop behaving like this and demand something for yourself. Everybody knows there is a problem. I'm investing my time in this game. It's none of your business whether I'm chill or not. Somebody takes UNO or tv series serious, i'm taking football manager serious. Do not act like that.
  2. Still same and because of that i quit. Unbelieveable. They are just steal our time. Make your tactic, find some staff for your team, invest your real life time for game or enjoy, and... JUST. FIX. THE. THROW. INS. If it's too hard for you, just resign. Unbelievable. Taker throw the ball nearest player, he's passing taker again, some silly cross and goal. UNBELIEVEABLE.
  3. How can anybody defend anything in this game? High press/high line is like a meta. I Can't use this. 4-2-3-1 gegenpress? Not working. Mid block? Not working. Low block? Not working. Back in the days this game is funny. Now, when opponent win just one throw-in, i know i'll be dead. One-two passes, a cross, and goal. Or maybe if i'm lucky, a corner and after the corner, goal. I really don't understand. How can i suck with 4-3-3 dm/bwm/b2b shape? Too simple. Defenders & dm covering areas, wingers, striker and midfielders pressing. It's now rocket science. But when i try this, unbelievable. Some freak of nature hits the ball to the perfect spot and boom, goal. I reject two things: First one is three striker, some silly abusive tactics. Second one is "it's your tactic" thing. Most of us have been playing and watching football for years, and I personally write about football. Let's say I don't know as accurately as I think I do. Still, it's ridiculous that defending is next to impossible. Again, to simple. Frei, please hold your position. b2b veiga & bwm xhaka, run, tackle, slide, hit, get contact and try to take ball with wingers & striker. So what do I have? Mid block, low block or high line, doesn't matter, some ridicilous long pass and goal. I've been playing this game for tens of thousands of hours since 2013. I don't accept "it's your tactic" and "don't play then" approaches. I'm trying to be better, trying to learn but no, nothing changes.
  4. Same here. Gegenpress, mid block, low block, crazy chicken dance, nothing works. Lots of players using gegenpress 4-2-3-1 and be successful but no, it's not working for me too. Throw-ins are pain, shooting the ball to the wings are pain, everything is pain for defending. And i don't understand this "it's your tactic" thing. I personally know some guys in the football business and they always said tactics are important but selecting players, "managing" the mood & people is more important. This game is like, "haha, kick the ball to the flanks and rest in peace."
  5. Whoa, that's perfect!!! Many many thanks man, a lot of good players there. You're a lifesaver.
  6. Too simple, can't good anything in defence. High line, mid block, low block, none of them working for me. It's boring me, i can't find any solution. Everytime some cb or dm kicks the ball and wingers or strikers taking it. And after, cross or shoot, simple goal. I'm not new in fm but i'm really struggling. Maybe it's because of my tactic, maybe, idk manager reputation but i can't find any solution. I just have a 1 year contract and i think basel board can't make a new one. So, it's gonna be waste of time for me. I need some players in midfield but it's swiss league c'mon. I think i don't need rodri or rüdiger for solid defence. 433 Basel 1.fmf 433 Basel 2.fmf
  7. Thank you mate, i'm sending scouts for dieng & sissoko. I Know dieng is tall & defensive player because irl my team Galatasaray wants to sign him. But i wonder his skills in FM. Thank you very much!
  8. Hello guys, i think lot of us using Defensive Midfielders, Ball Winning Midfielders & Box to Box Midfielders. I can't find any topic for specific role suggestions, so that's it. I'm Managing Basel right now. Sleeping giant, got some talents in defence & offensive area like Barry, Gauto, Comas. However, Basel has almost no midfield. Taulant Xhaka is very old for bwm role. Veiga is very good player but he's not a natural midfielder. I'm using him in midfield, bwm role. But he's a natural DM. So i need 2 b2b, 2 bwm and one dm. Frei is old too. Got some young players in midfield but none of them suits for this roles, all of them got good technical abilities but they aren't good in mental, physical and defensive departments. I have my eye on Emil Breivik and Gaius Makouta. Emil is good for b2b role and gaius is good for bwm. But i need suggestions. I believe in my game plan, but I have to strengthen these positions. So, shoot please.
  9. I'm a follower of rashidi's post but thank you again. I'll try your narrow team width suggestion. A DLP idea sounds good too! Thank you. I'll try wingback suggestion but both attack duties in the left wing isn't sounds good. It looks too much for me. What's your opinion about that?
  10. First of all, this is what i want: In football, i always love creator/scorer link-ups. Like old times 4-4-2 strikers. Henry/Bergkamp - Kovacevic/Nihat, Yorke/Cole... This is always inspired me. The beautiful link-ups. In my football philosophy, a good team needs scorer-creator link ups in every part of the field. So i wantna create a team and a tactic with scorers and creators in every part of the field. In my Hamburg squad, i just have right-footed wingers, so first of all i think i need to use a winger. And by nature, wingers are creators(or not?). So, for me, if a winger is a creator, then right midfielder is need to be a scorer. So, for me, central midfielder with an attack role is suits for the connection. This is the first scorer-creator connection. If a right midfielder is a scorer, my left midfielder must be a creator. So, i think advanced playmaker with a support role is good for this link up. And if i have a creator on the left part of midfield, then i need a scorer in front of this guy. IF with an attack role is good for this. On the left side of field, i have a scorer, i think i need an another creator. 3 scorer, 3 creator, i think this balance is good. So, CWB with a support role suits for this. And of course we need to set up a game. For this, i have 4 players: For short and basic passes, i have a central defender with sweeper role (sweeper because i want to play with higher defensive line). For fancy passes, i have a bpd with defend role. And for basic passes and defensive holding, i have a defensive midfielder with support role. In the right side of the field, i have a winger, so wide areas are occupied by my winger. I want to play out of defence, so inverted wingback with support role is good for this. I want to go to the goal with quick short passes. I don't wanna too many crosses, just low crosses in the penalty area. I want to play out of defence with a slightly higher tempo. I don't wanna too many long shots of course. I want to see beautiful link ups and goals. Short, quick passes, low crosses from my right winger, creating too many beautiful possessions and scoring with my striker, inside forward and right midfielder, that's all i want. I'm sharing my demo tactic with you. Please help me guys. And maybe, maybe if i'm too lucky, @Rashidiwill help haha. Tactic photo: DEMOTACTIC.fmf
  11. I think i need to spent time wiht some tactic saves. I don't know, it's simple and effective for me. short passes, high tempo, nothing fancy & confusing things, high xg but no score... I'm using dlp because i need to cover left side on the pitch but let's give a shot for ap.
  12. Nah, forget it. 7 games without winning and no solutions for this. Lost season, probably lost save & waste of time. Rubbish.
  13. Hello guys, first of all, thank you very much. Thanks to the answers to the topics I opened in this forum, I finally managed to reflect the football in my mind on the field. I'm managing Blackburn Rovers, nice team. Not perfect but O.K., Wharton brothers, Arnor Sigurdsson, Leopold Wahlstedt, Hayden Carter, Sammie Szmodics are very good. I think Arnor Sigurdsson is an elite winger for championship. But he is performing very bad and i think it's because of my tactic. I'm leader in xg statistic, 12 match - 23.60xg. But i scored 16. Pressing Forward, Advanced Forward, Inside Forward, Inverted Winger, Winger... None of them is effective for me. I don't say Niall Ennis is an elite striker or Andrew Moran is a natural winger but come on... Moran playing right wing: 11 match, just 2 goal. Sigurdsson is playing Inside forward, 6 match 1 goal and 6.52 rating. I need some advice for goalscoring & using wings effectively. I Think my tactics foundations are solid, because i'm leader in xg statistic, we're third in xg against statistic (12 match 11.55xg) and we're playing good. Maybe that's the capacity of my players. But i don't think that's because my players capacity. Arnor sigurdsson is a very very good player, just look at that stats: Moran isn't a natural winger but please just look at this boy: I think i need to do just a simple thing for the use wings effectively but i can't find any solution. And that's my tactic (i shared my tactic in fmf formation too): BR.fmf
  14. I'm hopeless but let's try. Soon i will update this reply.
  15. I tried. The only thing that happened to me was conceding more goals. I can't play the way I want. Skill issue or not, i can't play the way i want. The matches are like ping pong matches.
  16. I'm not sharing my tactics for now, because I don't think it will do any good. The problem is, neither tactic works. Plug and play tactics included. Let alone playing with plug-and-play tactics, I don't even like looking at it. However, this time I selected and downloaded a few of them according to my team's level, just to try them out. But no matter what I do, I cannot succeed. I have been playing all Football Manager games since 2013, and there has never been a game in which I did not experience a championship or promotion. I'm not complaining about encountering difficulties, but the problem here is that no matter what I do, I cannot succeed. I know I won't be able to do wonders in the first season with Basel, but I can't understand how the team defends deep but still misses the back. I can't defend, I give too many positions, I can't find solutions to anything that happens on the field. I want to start the game with the lowest reputation and increase over time. This has always been the case until now. In the previous game, I started with Dinamo, went to Sevilla and then played with Manchester United. I want to play with Basel for two or three seasons and make the team champions again. However, this does not seem possible. The problem is not just in Basel. I also fail with Galatasaray, where everyone else is successful. I'm also failing with Blackburn Rovers. Maybe it's an skill issue but really, i can't understand. I'm 28. I'm playing football every friday, i just watch Galatasaray's league game and it's my third match today, i'm playing fm since 2013 and i'm watching football since 2005. I think i know player roles, team chemistry, width & depth etc. Is there anyone else who can't succeed no matter what they do? Or am i the one?
  17. Some good recommendations mate, thanks. Like @avenger22, you too suggest i move the defensive line forward. It makes sense. Maybe using cm with attack duty instead of mezzala works for me. The reason i'm using advanced playmaker and mezzala is i need two creator from the inside. two inside creator (mezzala & ap), two wing creator (wb left & winger right) and two finisher (left inside forward and target forward). Next match, i'll remove work ball into box and watch the full match with max speed.
  18. Thanks man, i think my tactics foundation is good but like what i said, i need some improvements. Triggering press and higher line makes sense. I'm using anchor because i always need a guy from there: I don't want to be caught in a counter attack with fewer players. Maybe dm with defensive duty is enough for this position? IW(S) and WB(A) is really good advice, thank you very much!
  19. So, I'm managing Basel, nice club, sleeping local giant. I'm trying to winning the league in three or four seasons. I don't think this game or fm23 or any fm is "too easy" because i don't like using match engine breaker tactics and buying cheap and crazy wonderkids from nowhere. I'm using my scouts, i'm watching matches and noting players and always looking up other leagues player stats. Anyway, that's not the point. Mind is superior to reason. I see this place as a WhatsApp group for coaches, we know they discuss tactical stuff. I think i need to improve my defensive play. First problem is, I give my opponent too many chances. Maybe this is because of my group of players, maybe it is my tactical approach. But c'mon, I have eleven men who can walk. So, i think the problem starts with me and my tactic. What do you think is the problem? Second problem, I'm having trouble keeping score. Match endings turn into hell. Pressure, pressure, pressure... I know i'm not managing an elite team but i think i don't need man. city for this, last match my opponent is non league Rapperswill. This pushed me to take responsibility. Rapperswil dominated us in the match ending. So, this is a huge problem. I'm adding my tactic and my players. What do you think is the problem guys? Help me, your advices are too important for me. I hope I was able to explain my situation clearly. If you have any questions, I'm here to answer them. Last but not least, if you have any advice for attacking, these are not taxi doors, i'm all ears, i'm listening. Last little note: I know playing with target forward and using low crosses a little bit weird but gauto is very short and dubasin isn't good in aerial duels. and i think players tend to be sending high balls to target forwards, so that's a minor problem i think. but i'll welcome any advices for this also. Some photos: Basel Main.fmf
  20. Thanks mate. Gyökeres is perfect but he's too expensive...
  21. I'm currently playing in sky bet championship. I'm managing blackburn rovers. Ben brereton diaz wants to leave, so i sold him 10m €. My budget is 10 million €. Talles Magno doesn't wanna join us. Barış Alper Yılmaz is an option me. I'm looking for a right-footed inside forward over 180cm, above average in aerial balls, with scoring skills. Any advices?
  22. Guys, thank you all, you are perfect. I solved most of the problems. I'm not playing Lewis Travis anymore. If we need defense, he comes into pitch. Holding midfielder solved some problems for me. One bpd advice is good too. I also saw the new posts. I will definitely try them in the next friendly match.
  23. I can't see too! :) I usually suffer from shots that don't hit the goal. 15-18 shots per game, but very few finds the spot. I think it's main problem. But I can't get over it. For example, lower tempo didn't help, There must be a problem somewhere, but where? I'll try narrow width in the next friendly match. Even though we are playing average at the moment, we are getting results. We're not perfect but not awful. Next friendly match, i'll try narrow width. Now, i'm using holding midfielder and i give this role get further forward role. I'll take a look at what you said about the roles. My opinion of Lewis Travis is changing. He's perfect for me but fast paced passing game doesn't suit him. I use defensive midfielder there. John Buckley: Good guy with good technical abilities and mediocre in the defence department. Decision making is a problem but in this level, everyone is far from perfect.
