  1. Marco Di Vaio's recruitment strategy seems to center on squad depth and potential. Obviously in real life, Motta pulling a Xabi Alonso and sticking around one more year would be key to that plan. But if you're looking to copy popular summer '24 links, they are rumored to be interested in Scotts Connor Barron and Josh Campbell (looks like a Lewis Ferguson clone) and Venezia's Tanner Tessman.
  2. Very curious where folks are at with a Sarri tactic in FM24 for sure. The drive to replicate his tactic in FM seems to have decreased since he moved to Lazio. It's still on my list for FM24 to come up with a Napoli '15-17 tactic, whether it's replicating his side with in form Higuaín or Mertens. With this year's match engine, I feel like there's a better fit for his flexible midfield and fullbacks. Just have yet to see anything pop up on YouTube or on the SI site replicating this and I am a simpleton with tactics. Here's what I have going right now in my first season with Venezia using a tweak of @tikitakamaster 's Sarri tactics from FM23 (thank you for all your work over the years!). Talent on this Venezia team is definitely in the top 1/3 of Serie B, but by no means a powerhouse. Real challenge will come in year 3 of this save when I've been promoted to Serie A and have a couple transfer windows to narrow the talent gap and acquire players more fitting of the Sarri roles (especially on the defensive and pressing side). 2.22 goals/game (top in Serie B) 1.74 NP-GX per game (top in Serie B) Possession numbers are top 3 in Serie B at 90% completion and averaging just over 540 passes completed per match. 4.2 chances created/game (top in Serie B) 109 Final 3rd pass/game (top in Serie B) XGA/game 1.338 (8th in Serie B) 366 passes completed against/game (top in Serie B) 88.8 Possession won per game (14th in Serie B)
  3. Has anyone adapted this tactic for FM24? I feel like most of Sarriball is attainable within this ME compared to trying to pull of Michel's system with Girona. Right now I'm concentrating on Player Traits. Anyone see any glaring omissions? Rui/Ghoulam role - WB(s): runs with ball down left, gets forward whenever possible, plays one-twos Koulibaly role - BPD(d): tries killer balls often Albiol role - BPD(d): plays short simple passes, stops play Jorginho role - Regista(s): dictates tempo, plays short simple passes, comes deep to get ball, plays one-twos Hamsik role - Mezzala(s): dictates tempo, plays short simple passes, plays one-twos Allan role - BBM(s): arrives late in opponents' area Callejon role - W(s): comes deep to get ball, hugs the touchline, likes to beat offside trap Insigne role - IW(a): places shots, shoots from distance, cuts inside, plays one-twos Mertens role - AF(a): comes deep to get ball
  4. For whatever reason I've found man marking to help in upping my possession numbers. Following what others have suggested previously with CF and AM marking the opposing CBs, wingers marking the opposing FBs, and FBs marking the opposing wingers. For me it's been the opposite (in maintaining high possession numbers) where I struggle to man mark 3ATB.
  5. I'm starting a save with the current database and going to add Messi in the summer. Training the team to run a 3412 with Pizarro standing in for Messi in the AM(At) role backed by two energizer bunny VOL(Su) which should allow me to maximize a good engine room behind Messi and still provide DP space should I move on from Josef or Campana (low work rate) up top.
  6. Yeah I think the early reaction has been for Inter Miami to sign a younger version of Diego Chara. But you don't just dump millions on signing Messi and back him with Mota, Gregore, and said some younger Chara clone to play under Tata. Gotta be some other way to make this all work.
  7. I know that there aren't a ton of MLS fans regularly popping their head up on these boards but I'm curious to the idea of starting a save with Messi after season 1 of the MLS 22/23 season trying to build a team and tactic following the ways of Tata Martino who is highly rumored to be joining Messi in Miami this summer. Inter Miami has some pieces without needing to go HAM on signing 30-something unrealistic friends of Messi. But 35yo Messi just doesn't seem to fit the Tata Martino pressing system he's used in his last few stops. My thought would be either some sort of 3412 with Messi at AM or 532 with Messi as with a DLF, T, or SS. In sticking with realism as best we can before he even steps foot on an MLS field, how would you set up the team while doing your best to stay realistic? Tifo's Atlanta United breakdown from '18
  8. Great start to the story @Fudal. I started in January digging into RDZ's tactics and wanted something more aggressive as I start my save with Como in Serie B months later in the FM23 cycle. Trying to piece together all the videos and tactics created over the past few years of FM to properly initiate my first season with Murderball tactics given how stressful it can be on a roster not setup for that type of playing style. Curious what traits you all look for out of players suitable for playing this style be it 3ATB or 4ATB reciprocal?
  9. I try to do a quick save with this tactic every year. Here's my very rough list of player comps given the age of the 2007 Milan player and the skillset of players today. Not perfect, but something I'll be looking to piece together soon. 10. I've struggled against 3ATB with De Zerbi's tactics (or at least what FM23 ME will allow). Are there any big changes you guys make to your tactics put aside when facing an opponent with this setup?
  11. I was considering this as well with my De Zerbi save using Brighton. But I thought Dwells on the Ball had a negative connotation to it and was looking to instead train Stops Play for my BPDs. Regardless... I was hesitating to create a "please help me with making accurate tactics" and you all saved me a ton of keystrokes. So thank you for the great back-and-forth so far!
