  1. What is the point/logic behind the "would've preferred to stay on the bench" text in friendlies? It even pops up for 15-year-olds and third choice goalkeepers. They should be happy to play minutes in the senior team, even if it's only pre-season. Of all the things to add to the game, this baffles me.
  2. Hi, I got curious about Solomon Islands star striker Raphael Lea'i. I expected that I wouldn't be able to bring him to my team (Notts County) because of work permit issues, but what I didn't expect was for him to just straight up refuse to negotiate with me As I said, he is earning absolutely no money on his amateur contract in Solomon Islands so this surprised me. He is also not a new signing at his club Henderson Eels; he's been there since 2019. There is also no other clubs interested in his service, either at our level or above. Surely if a professional 5th tier club in England wanted to talk to this guy he would be super keen on the move? I can't find a logical reason why he won't enter negotiations with us so it seems like a bug to me. Any ideas if there's a good explanation as to why he won't negotiate? to reproduce issue just try signing Lea'i with Notts County (or one of the other professional Vanarama National League sides) in the first transfer window
  3. Came here to post this, although I clicked half time. Did it twice so any attempt to change that menu leads to a definite crash.
  4. Posting another long-running issue in the hope that this is the game we can finally see the back of it. Example: you sign Chiesa and he wants you to promise that you'll bring in reinforcements at left-wing - you ARE the reinforcement. Am I meant to believe he wants me to get another equal ability player at LW which will reduce his playing time? It usually isn't a deal-breaker if you refuse to promise this, but it's a weird issue that's been around far too long for my liking. It's been memed a lot so I'm sure that you're all aware of it, but personally speaking seeing the same problems pop up year after year dents my enthusiasm when the new games drop.
  5. I've been receiving plenty of non-negotiable offers from smaller teams for young players - they don't make any sense. I've seen ones where 4 or 5 teams all send non-negotiable offers at the same time for a youngster who was not transfer or loan listed. The other type I've seen a lot of is teams sending non-negotiable offers of absolutely nothing + selling team wage contribution, again for a player I have not transfer listed. Negotiation is key for even small transfers, so I don't understand why this still happens. Teams don't lead a transfer offer with their absolute highest final offer, do they? Non-negotiable offers should only be a thing after 2 or 3 negotiations, they should never be the initial offer. Don't mind receiving lowball offers at all, but negotiation is essential. While on the topic, I haven't used the loan market much yet, but I'm going to guess it's similar to the last game where there would also be a lot of blanket non-negotiable offers. "We can only pay x amount of player's wages" makes fine sense but there's no need to make it so that I can't adjust the non-financial elements of the loan. This means you have to reject a viable loan deal because you can't add in something like "can be recalled" or propose that the loanee has a higher squad role. I've posted about this before shortly after FM22's release and was assured it was something SI was working on, so I'm disappointed to see it's still an issue in a brand new game.
  6. is this what good opposition instructions are meant to look like then? That's a lot more marking and particularly hard-tackling than I'd have thought would be wise. I've also noticed that they all trigger press on wing-backs but not wingers. Would you mind explaining them?
  7. I think all I did in this screen was, prior to registering my new signing, I changed the columns view to include assistant manager's opinion of their CA and PA. Then once I registered somebody the page looked like this. Luckily, there's a way to mostly fix this issue straight away, by clicking the 'Copy of selection info' dropdown and selecting the default tactics page view. However dragging reserves into the team can still be problematic.
  8. somebody else has the rights I'm assuming? it's also the case with Lecce (Salento)
  9. Hi, I registered one of my new signings and now the tactics page is formatted like the registration page for some reason. I can't drag players when it's like this, it just selects a group of them
  10. if it's a young player, who's to say his dribbling should only increase from 7 to 8? FM makes working on weaknesses a waste of time with the baffling "no longer a weakness" message. if you can't shape your players your way you might as well not have individual focus training in the game.
  11. well, then this is a big problem with lower reputation teams/players which is what I play the most. At a smaller club it's normal for the best set piece takers to have ratings of 11-13, yet the game sees it as an inherent problem because it's judging on a world scale. You're not gonna get David Beckham quality in the Scottish 2nd tier. If for example a winger has 12 in corners, free kicks & penalties, but 7 in dribbling, surely they should ignore the set piece attributes that are at a respectable level and recommend working on their dribbling instead? Yet they never do, for me.
  12. every staff meeting in FM22 becomes frustrating from the start due to coaches hating any form of individual focus training that isn't either corners/free kicks/penalties. every single save in the game I've encountered this. is there actually a solid reason for this or is it just a bug? why have so many options for individual focus training if only 3 will ever be recommended? also why hasn't "no longer a weakness" been patched out of the game yet?
