My understanding is that it only relates to job acceptance but I presume that only the game coders can tell you for sure.

Thank you for a reply. Is it possible to raise this question with developers here (or maybe I should post it elsewhere)? I'm not trying to have a conflict, but this is a core point of playing "career" saves and me + other people, playing like that, would really appreciate knowing that.

Ok- it appears that this issue is working as intended after some input from previous years about difficulty in finding a job when unqualified.  It is a Catch 22 situation but the user can choose to reject or accept job offers as they see fit.

The disappointment of some users as to it's implementation will no doubt be noted but lets move on.

Do I understand correctly, that this spreads not only to starting unemployed and without badges, but to overall difficulty of landing jobs?

For example, I have pro footballer-local level and Continental A badge, which give me 0.5 (nominal) reputation. This is enough to coach in russian first division, but not enough to land a job in premier league. Can I resign and get a position in Bundesliga, for example?

And another question is - does this change the Dynamics or job acceptance only? On FM 19 I've jumped from AAB to Groningen and my rep was not near enough for a team to accept me, so I failed miserably (which was understandable and fun)

I'm planning a long term save, so it would be nice to know if SI removed this aspect from a game, so I could cut my expectations from it and just play short ones.

    Thank you

For example, I have zero wage budget & I'm being asked to look at players on £50-80 grand a week, so even if I wanted any one them, it's not going to happen

It's the same as scouting focus on previous versions, unless you set assignments manually your scouts will always suggest targets you can't afford, it's not new and I wouldn't expect this feature to get better. But it's fine, some new features are always there just to be ignored, like pre-game briefings

  4. Have to say it, I've been playing 20 yesterday and after 15th or so blocked cross, that went to the corner (wonder if people at SI realise, that sometimes ball gets deflected in the other direction), and my W(s) AGAIN shooting the ball into the post from 0 angle with two uncovered players standing in the box, I thought that I'm ready to break my own rule and buy 21 on the release day, not even wait for a patch. Just to forget FM 20 like a bad dream

    So yeah, I'm buying it

I've never understood the hysteria around the match engine not truly replicating real life.  Like, I get that's obviously the aim, but are people really expecting this match engine - or any that a developer produces - to do so?  Seems like just building yourself up for disappointment with unattainable goals.  It's always going to be an approximation at best.  And that doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Most players can freely live with ME not replicating irl game, but lately there were inconsistencies at the core which made quite basic elements faulty, you know them: CCC conversion rate, blocked crosses, wide players behaviour in the box. None of those issues were present in previous FMs, it's quite natural to demand more now.

Yes.  Making a film to appeal to a certain market and make money is absolutely an "inclusivity stunt".  Jesus wept.

It flopped. I see by your responses, that you just argue for the sake of it, but I'll take a bit more time to reply.

It flopped. And many examples like this perform worse than expected. But in times of #woke trending it just has to be. And I don't exclude from possible scenarios that SI would have to do it too

oh pls not wasting man power for this.

Early or late SI would have to do it, or twitter mob will get to them. It takes just one maniacal attention lover with a well-followed account to create a stir. It would be more safe to play nice and add a dozen of women leagues just for the sake of having them

Nobody is going to play them, just as nobody watches them, but hey several more unactivated leagues in your save, just let them be

  8. I always appreciate people, doing direct counterattacking style. I've managed to assemble mine finally and in the last game have beaten an opponents 4-1 with only 29% of possession. Finally it seems I've tamed FM 20

I like your approach on controlling pressing with roles rather TIs. I'll try to do such thing too

Fair enough, I just find it strange :) I don't play or do things I find terrible

It's not terrible in a sense, that game is ****. As a management simulator it's still good and given that it's the only available game in the market, we of course play it, hell FM is one of my most favorite past times still. BUT we see what's going wrong and how areas, that can be addressed, are not addressed at all. Consider it not as much criticizing a game, rather a real worry for a favorite title. I don't see FM for example as separate games each year, it's a big product, changing iteration to iteration. And now changes are for worse and I'm worried.

Kind like that. I think FM 20 is worst from all 8 titles I've played, but I still like playing it and will be buying 21, I still think there is a big room for improvement and want to think SI wants to go there too, so I stick with it

I don’t think anyone watching the EPL last year for example, had any idea of how VAR would play out in reality,

Yeah, but my problem with it is - VAR almost always only cancels. I'm really grateful for that cancelled goal in Euro cup semis, that allowed me to win and eventually take the cup, but every time there is a goal review, I always know that there will be "no goal" decision. Penalties and free kicks can vary, but goals are almost always cancelled. I had penalties given to me by VAR, but never a goal, this is not how irl football goes
