    No claims that you're a whiny player nor false facts, we've just explained back to you the current in-game situation after our internal team has taken a look.

    The game will include players with expiring contract to your future/projected wage bill unless you use the 'Set for Release' option. You can do this for any player currently in your squad by right-clicking on them and selecting 'Set for Release'. They will then no longer be included in any future wage budget, potentially freeing it up to a level where you can renew others.

    You're currently spending £34k a week and have a wage budget of £24k a week. As far as the board sees it, they won't allow you to offer any wages to any players (even reductions) until you've got your finances to a point where you can reasonably be expected to fall within that budget.

    Hope that all make sense. In previous versions there was a way to 'exploit' your budget, which is why in FM23 you're required to be clear on your extending/releasing expectations so this can be taken into account for your finances.

    Wow, you guys are really bad at customer service.  You need to hire someone who understands that customer service is about social interactions, and who has some interpersonal skills.  Well, don't worry, I won't ever bother you again.

    Hello, while I do understand you've entered into a difficult situation, looking at your save there doesn't seem to be any bug.

    There is a reserves squad which equates towards your total wages and many youth players are getting wage increases.

    Committed spending lessens also when setting reserve players for release so that is all correct.

    Also the club the is £678k in debt, which obviously means players will need to be let go.

    @Neil Brock

    It is upsetting to your customers when your respond to legitimate issues with denials, false facts and "your just a whiny player" statements.  I've read many other players complain that there is no point to posting bugs and I tend to agree.  Also, we understand that most of your customers don't read the forums, so you probably don't care what we think.

    I know how to add and I'm not above dealing with difficult situations.  Looking at all of my squads, including the reserve team, I have eleven players signed past the upcoming June 30, end of season:

    • 5 youngsters who will earn $900/yr;
    • 2 youngsters who will increase to $8,750/yr, each;
    • 1 youngster who will increase to 10,500/yr;
    • 1 youngster who will increase to 11,000/yr;
    • 1 senior player who will earn $25,000/yr; and
    • 1 senior player who will earn $27,000/yr;

    Total committed to next season = $95,500/yr

    My current budget payroll = $1,481,110. It might go down next season, but it won't go down anywhere close to $95,500.

    But the game indicates that I have committed to $2,043,847 and will not allow me to re-sign or extend any of my other players, at any price. for next season, or sign any new players for next season.  I am not allowed to offer any player a slightly reduced wage, or even a half-wage, which would decrease my wage bill for this season, and not put me anyplace near what I could spend for next season.  Indeed, I'm not allowed to offer a player a slightly reduced wage for only the  remainder current season (not that anyone would accept that):  in the example in my opening post, the board would allow me to offer a $73,000/yr player a wage of $6,500 for the remainder of this year but not a wage of $50,000 for the remainder of this year, even though the $50,000 would lower my payroll.

    In previous versions of the game, I could always renegotiate and extend players, even if I was above the current year's budget payroll, so long as I wasn't adding payroll for this season or going crazy spending for next season.

    It appears that the game will not allow me to sign any players, or extend any players, until all of the existing contracts (with the exception of the eleven mentioned above) expire on June 30.  Which is crazy.

    My intention would be to extend 4-5 key, young, first team players, let go the expensive older players, and rebuild.  But I can't do that.

    We need a save file prior to the 24th of December please, if you have one?

    I have it.  I tried to upload it.  I've uploaded before but this time it was very slow:  said it would take 3-4 hours.  I left, did some stuff and came back to an error message.  Possibly because my computer went to sleep over the many hours.

    But let me know if you got it.  If not, I'll try again later.  File name:

    Jules Winnfield - Gent problem

  4. update:  I replayed the sequence and the same thing happened.  Then I replayed it a third time, with one small change and the problem did not happen.

    The first 2 times, when the problem happened: I went into training/rest and gave a few players 1-day off all pitch and gym work, to rest them for the upcoming match, then when I hit 'continue' it started the break too early.

    The 3rd time, when the problem did not happen: I skipped that and it left the break and training as they should be (without the needed rest).

    Hey @glengarry224 do you have a save game available where this is the case ideally shortly before he produces another one of his next opposition reports? This would help our QA team to investigate further. A guide on how to upload your file is  How to upload files to us - Instructions and Notes - Sports Interactive Community (sigames.com)

    Done.  File name:
