  1. Quick update to my start with Crewe :)

I brought in Leighton Clarkson and Liam Millar on loan from Liverpool after getting them as my parent club. No other incomings or outgoings. Clarkson has only made 1 appearance due to injuries. Millar has managed 3 goals and 2 assists in 8 games, so not too bad from left-wing.

Our first run of games has looked like this...

We drew our rivals Stoke City for my first competitive game and we managed to sneak through on penalties. That was the perfect way to get the fans on board early :D A 3-2 win against Barnsley and a 1-0 victory against Swindon saw us draw Man City in the League Cup. We were somehow 2-0 up at half time but then City decided to bring on Ferran Torres  He scored 2 goals and also got the winning penalty  But still, we played very well against a pretty strong City side. Our only proper defeat has come away at Doncaster where we had a man sent off early doors and lost to the penalty conceded.

The table currently stands like this:

Big match against Ipswich coming up :)

I've come to realise that the game is fixed to make Manchester United overpowered. I like to try it out on all new football games to see how they compute them (Manchester United) and it took me over 50 attempts to beat them which I had to use editor to injury all players and knock down morale then kept watching them and no matter who they played they always won even after injuring all the squad, dropping their morale and even when I released all their players they just kept winning.

I don't want to say it's your tactics.

    But it's your tactics.

  3. Hi,

I've started a couple of saves and keep getting this same problem.

At half time during a match, if you make your team talk and then decide to make a substitution or alter tactics via the tactics screen, you are unable to get back to your team talk.

In past FM's you were free to switch back and forth between team talks and tactics at half time, but there's no option for this on FM21.

It's the only thing wrong with the game at the moment in my opinion. Fingers crossed it can be fixed :)

So.... I have reached half time and I am smashing a team and my players must be loving it and gaining experience and growing in this game, at half time I have not done the team talk as I want to rest a player and bring in a young gun, so I go to tactics make the change and find out there's no way back to complete the team talk... GREAT!!!!

This is my only complaint with the game so far.

So we are Non-Paid game testers . We get 10% off ( woo hoo ) for the Beta then we test it and tell them the bugs we found that only 40% will get fixed in the current game , 50% in the next installment while 10% remain bugged . If you bought any other product and it had this many bugs you would return it . Must be a clause that says its ok to release games that dont work to the descriptions they post .

Here your brand new car Mr Jones , Any issues just email us and we will fix some of them but not all of them . I guess we just except in the gaming world  for some reason which goes to show we are not as smart as we think

If I could buy a new car for the price of FM, I wouldn't mind a few defects.

There are no game-breaking bugs in FM21. Any bugs that are found are fixed as quickly as possible.

...Also, most of us enjoy testing the game :) You're free not to.

I agree they'd be the biggest challenge, but for me it's not necessarily about how hard it is. Lyon in FM19 is the best save I've ever had, and would probably still play if not for the temptation of FM21s features

In that case, I'd go for Milan and try to dominate Italy again.

Looking for some help with picking a long term save... My last one was Lyon in FM19 who I managed through to 42/43 season.

I like 'smaller' teams in the big leagues who have a lot of potential to become the best. Generally stable finances, good youth set up, maybe a good prospect or two? I've thought of some ideas below but can't really decide

    England: Aston Villa, Everton, Leicester

    France: Lyon, Rennes

    Germany: Leverkusen, RBL

    Italy: Atalanta, AC Milan, Roma

I would go with Villa or Rennes for the biggest challenges :)

In our last game we had a squad of 18 with 3 english players, one is a sub GK.

How is that a buy English policy?

Your in game board strategy has effectively made us almost as difficult to manage as Atletico Bilbao?

Maybe the lack of English players IRL means Levy wants English players to be signed in-game. Brexit is coming up after all.

Really lovely gesture and also fair play to the OP for highlighting this, things like this really do mean more to people than some think.

Absolutely! I've had a really bad year with not much to smile about... and then a stranger thousands of miles away manages to change that.

    I won't forget it :)

@RHKC, I'm sure you know this wasn't necessary, but thank you. I didn't intend for it to be a public thing as it wasn't about getting attention or (on the other side of things) receiving PMs begging for a copy. I saw your post and wanted to 'help' - though of course it doesn't help your business or car.

We're in a pandemic and I knew of a way to make someone smile during a difficult time. Went through your previous posts too, just to get a feel for the kind of person you are. It's not something I've ever done. May not even do it again ever. I think it was the last line that got to me. :)

But yeah, saw that (having never tried before) my purchase was blocked for me being on the other side of the hemisphere and big differences in the value of currency. Felt very guilty having promised/offered something, seen the reaction to that and then to let you down. Fortunately, this is a fantastic community and very soon, a fellow forum member (who I won't mention unless he wants it to be known) helped me out with a code for the game. So a massive thanks to him as well.

This is why we're so keen to shut down hostility/insults/antagonism. We have devs posting and engaging with us on the forum, a good atmosphere and a fantastic bunch of posters overall. There are always people willing to help.

Three things before I go, even though I said there are no strings attached. Enjoy the game - it has fantastic potential to be one of those iconic versions. Two - log bugs you find - you have a responsibility now! :D And three, no hate mail from your wife (even though she did thank me, but far too early imo) when you start spending more time with FM21 than her.  :brock:

Anyway, I've said what I wanted to say. The topic isn't really about FM, but I'm going to feel bad closing it. If someone else does, that's the only reason, but this is greatly appreciated.

I can't promise no hate mail from my wife, but the rest I will endeavour to do :D

Once again, thank you so much. You made my year mate!

A fair few people have said this to me and each time I've asked them why they think this.

This might be true and you might be right, but I honestly think people are going to be surprised. I'm basing this on the fact that there are other big money industries such as manufacturing and branches of the arts which bring in much more to this country than football. No special cases are likely to be made there. We're in the middle of a pandemic and there are concerns over health and social care employees.

As I said before, the premier league was slow on the uptake in respect of free movement of players within EU rules. The FA actually wants to limit players coming in from abroad.

Seriously, if or not Tonali gets a work permit is likely to be low down on the priority list.

As I said though, interested in why you think this.

The UK government care about money, not people or healthcare. Elite athletes being based in the UK makes the government money, it's that simple.

Anyway, back I go to my Yeovil relegation battle.

    It's just a game after all :)

Speculation isn't helpful to what? Who are the developer supposed to be helping?

We don't know who is going to be relegated yet either, but I'm pretty comfortable we should keep that in the game.

People will say that's a stupid example to give but the premise is the same.

Someone will be relegated IRL so someone should be relegated on the game. The most likely teams to be relegated IRL will have the lowest attribute spread and therefore be the most likely relegated on the game.

UK immigration law is going o be based on a points based system IRL. The most likely system is the one that is currently mirrored in the game.

People are only fuming about it because it affect how they play and who they can buy. This is what will actually happen IRL.

Absolutely. But if you think it will affect footballers being signed just the same as the average Spanish family wanting to move to the UK, I think you're mistaken.
