    The less said about their midfield (and Dembele) the better, but France's backline have been quite good tonight. Konate, Kounde, and Varane have all saved an almost certain goal. Lloris done his part too.

    Nah, their midfield is a problem. Losing Rabiot is about the last thing they needed. Surprised Deschamps prefers Fofana to Camavinga.

    Especially pens. Entirely convinced eliminating pens, as we know them, would be the single best change that could be made to the rules. A yellow on Boufal is wrong, but there's no way that should be a pen either. In a sport where goals are hard to come by, ticky-tack fouls anywhere in the box, regardless of situation, resulting in a 75-80% of a goal is just crazy.

    Tbf, you can't exactly drop off Messi either. If he's on, and getting your defenders isolated 1v1, you're probably in trouble regardless.

    No clue what they're doing at the back, but Kramaric no longer playing an invisible 9 should improve Croatia's chances of scoring.

    Idk why anyone takes corners over Perisic. He's just about as good as anyone, with both feet, which is tactically significant.
