  1. I am! And it’s him. The papers said he used to do business in Italy and wants to appoint an Italian manager.
  2. Just had a takeover completed by a consortium led by Melitopol-based investor Vladimir Pronichev in October 2018!
  3. The transfer window first season has just closed. First team: Nothing. No players signed. No players sold. Reserves: Yes! This is an area I invested heavily in. Bisseck (Köln), Nunumete (Heerenveen), Imbrechts (Charleroi), Rogers (west Brom), Loader (Reading), Appiah (Nottingham Forest), Nzita (Anderlecht), Sea (Aston Villa), Tshibuabua (Saint-Etienne) and Nson Wa Saka (Caen) joined us. We also made a £6M deal with Guingamp to bring Marcus Thuram to Newcastle. The deal includes a two-season long loan deal back at Guingamp. So hopefully he can improve a lot there and join us as a much better player Dru Yearwood from Southend £2M and Tyrese Campbell from Stoke £4.1M has both signed for us but will join us next season. I have big hopes for both players. Exciting young winger from Bordeaux Dilane Bakwa signed a pre-contract and will join the club in January 2019.
  4. Good start to the season! Bournemouth also impressing. Any news on the takeover?
  5. Good signings! You could get Kenedy on another loan without any problems? Brexit yet? Kevin Mbabu Well done, looking forward to it
  6. This section is about the first team squad but in the reserves you can find interesting players like Yannick Touré, Deese Kasinga-Madia, Tyrique Bartlett and Freddie Woodman. You can also find Achraf Lazaar here, perfect backup to Paul Dummett? Goalkeepers ★★★★★★★★★★ Actually a decent part of the team. I really like Martin Dúbravka, I think he is a good sweeper keeper. Not a big fan of Karl Darlow though. Freddie Woodman knocking on the door from the reserves. Defenders ★★★★★★★★★★ Some good and strong centre-backs here. Jamaal Lascelles is the first name on the teamsheet. Federico Fernández has some really good defensive skills. In need of a new left back if Paul Dummett gets injured. DeAndre Yedlin with 19 pace. Midfielders ★★★★★★★★★★ Need some investment here. Central midfield is weak but Jonjo Shelvey is a perfect choice as a deep-lying playmaker. Kenedy and Matt Ritchie looks good on the wings. Isaac Hayden and Jacob Murphy are not ready yet for the Premier League yet. Forwards ★★★★★★★★★★ I actually like them. Salomón Rondón as a big target player, Yoshinori Muto a pressing forward and Ayoze Pérez a shadow striker.
  7. Seven first team players have signed for Newcastle United during the summer. Ball playing centre-back Fabian Schär signed from relegated Deportivo, Federico Fernández and World Cup player Ki Sung-yeung joined from Swansea, Yoshinori Muto from Mainz and striker Salomón Rondón joined Newcastle on a one-year loan deal from West Brom. Brazilian winger Kenedy extended his loan from Chelsea for another year and Martin Dúbravka, who was on loan last season, signed a permanent deal. However the fans saw favourite striker Alexander Mitrovic leave the club. He signed for Fulham. Other players who also left the club were Jesús Gámez (free transfer), Mikel Merino (Real Sociedad), Chancel Mbemba (Porto), Matz Sels (Strasbourg), Dwight Gayle (West Brom loan) and Henri Saivet (Bursaspor loan). Three players at the club are assigned to captain roles. All of them have been at the club for a long period of time (compared to other first team players) and are an important part of the squad. Jamaal Lascelles, Jonjo Shelvey and Paul Dummett. Some notable players to play for the club are Paul Gascoigne, Kevin Keegan, Les Ferdinand, Alan Shearer, David Ginola, Robert Lee, Gary Speed, Hughie Gallacher, Malcolm Mcdonald, Jackie Milburn, Joe Harvey, Nolberto Solano, Faustino Asprilla, Philippe Albert and Shay Given. Mike Ashley is the owner of Newcastle United. He doesn't care about the club. The lack of investement is there for everyone to see. Not only in the first team, but also in the reserves and in the facilities. However you actually get £23M (FM Touch version) to spend in the first season. Why should you start a Football Manager 2019 save with Newcastle United? What makes them interesting? ✓ £23M in transfer budget to spend on new players. ✓ The club is for sale! Who will the new owner be? A tycoon? ✓ A sleeping giant. A city who breathes football. ✓ Remember the days when they played in the Champions League? Can you bring European football back to Tyneside? ✓ Build your team around captain Jamaal Lascelles. ✓ A stadium capacity of 52 354 supporters. ✓ Enjoy the passion of English football. ✓ Invest in youth and bring future club legends through the academy.
  8. Newcastle United 1 September 2017, the transfer window has just closed With £50m to spend (touch version) I decided to invest heavily in youth players. My chief scout Steve Nickson traveled to France, Portugal and Spain to look for players. He returned with some very interesting scout reports. 14 prospects to the reserve team was signed and some of them were Elves Baldé (Sporting), Yahia Fofana (Le Havre), Bilel Hassaini (Nancy), Charles Abi (Saint-Étienne) and Vincent Thiel (Metz). The signings for the first team: Three exciting players I'm very pleased to welcome to Newcastle United. Joaquin Correa is an inside forward from Argentina, full of flair och pace. Achraf is 18 years old from Morocco but born in Spain. He plays at right back. And finally the son of Zinedine Zidane - Luca Zidane. A talented goalkeeper from France. I actually made one more transfer... THE RETURN OF THE KING: Happy to welcome Ben Arfa back to the club. This time it's a loan and he fits perfectly in our 4231 formation as the central attacking midfielder. Only player sold was Jack Colback, £7m to Hull. The season has kicked off and I'm looking forward to some great years in Newcastle United. A takeover rumours to be close...
  9. Interesting thread. Some thoughts from me... I will use two DMC to control the play from a deeper position. DMCL is the playmaker in a DLP (S) role (Jonjo Shelvey). The DMCR is DM (S) at home (Jack Colback) and BWM (S) away (Isaac Hayden). Mohamed Diamé in a AMC (A) position, always looking to attack and score goals. One of the central defenders and in this case the DCL (Ciaran Clark) will be assigned as a BPD (D).

  11. Happy days in the north-east, Middlesbrough are back in the Premier League after beating Ipswich 1-0 in the Championship play-off final. Players worth mentioning: The Italian goalkeeper Michael Agazzi on loan from AC Milan started the first few games of the season on the bench, but after an injury on Dimitris Konstantopoulos he got his chance and he really impressed me. 18 clean sheets and some good performances. Returning to Italy when his loan expires. Ben Gibson did really well for us. A central defender and a local lad who did some really good games during the season. I brought in Miguel Ángel Cifuentes from Elche for £425k in July, my only signing, but what a signing he was! No doubt my best player during the season. I used him as a wing back on the right flank. Highly recommended. Vice-captain George Friend has to be mentioned. Never did a poor game. Emilio Nsué almost signed for Fulham at the start of the season but I decided to keep him. Was used as a wing back or as a striker and just like George Friend he never did a poor game. Adam Clayton was a bit of a playmaker i central part of the pitch. Was used either as a half back or as a roaming playmaker. Became one of my favourites. Never injured or suspended. Grant Leadbitter the captain of the club who played almost every game. A very good leader and someone I talked a lot with during the season. Stewart Downing scored the vital goal against Ipswich who secured promotion back to the Premier League. Was a good player for us. David Nugent and Christian Stuani both scored 16 goals each. Due to some financial problems at the club I will try not to sign many players. I also want to keep most of the players who helped us back to the Premier League. We need a new goalkeeper, one central defender, one defensive midfielder and one striker. Jonathan Woodgate will retire at the end of the season and will be offered a staff-role in the U18 squad. Rhys Williams contract expires in the summer and will leave. So will Seb Hines, Damià, Yanic Wildschut and Carlos de Pena.

  13. You should definitely try to sign him NorthernGooner, he's a great player for that price. However I don't know if he's got injury problems. Maybe.
