What’s driven me away from recent versions is the failure of some roles to actually function in line with their in-game description.

The F9 and DLF spring to mind from FM19 onwards. In my opinion they simply do not work properly. Static movement and limited discernible difference between support and attack duty functions.

If this has been addressed, then it will have a huge impact on the match experience.

If not, then it’s just more smoke and mirrors that fool the user into thinking the game has more tactical depth than it actually does.

Yeah F9 has been poor in FM for a while now

Too static and lack of movement

Also we need longer and more detailed animations explaining things such as how far up and how far down each role is

  2. Kwaku Oduroh has a passing of 3, but is able to perform 2 key passes and have a Passing accuracy above 90% Against Liverpool

    1. How accurate is ME individual performance calculation? It is not able to tell the difference between a good and bad passer.

He is playing as a solo CDM against liverpool

He has performed amazing with a passing accuracy of 90%

  3. This is interesting because

    • Strikers are not important. Strikers ability isn't very important in FM ME. terrible players can score and be consistent if you play for Liverpool or man city.
    • Don't worry about strikers. Users should only make sure they have a good midfield, gk and defence.
    • Individual performance calculation is flawed. The way ME calculates individual performance is flawed. A goalkeeper shouldn't be consistent as a goalscoring striker in premier league
    • ME is still a flawed system. ME doesn't represent real life or how football actually works
  4. What I got from this experiment is

    • Individual performance or attributes is not a big factor in FM ME. Meaning a terrible player can play well for liverpool or man city
    • positional familiarity/Role Suitability is not a big factor. Meaning a goalkeeper can perform well as a striker for liverpool or man city

Well... I'm 52 and could'nt run 5 meters straight to save my life, and would score a goal per game with those players behind me.

But on a serious note, and just out of curiosity: whats Bens versitality?

    such ignorance

I know you love FM but damn.

This is premier league, against premier league defenders

    Hi FM Team

    1. I suggest we add a new happiness category that relates to their personal life which can affect their morale. This can be called "Personal" or "Other"

    2. Another suggestions can be where certain players fall out with each other

    3. Another suggestion is that players show a reaction to being named captain during certain matches where your main or back up captain is not available.

This adds more depth to the game as not everyday can succeed and become top level because sometimes it's due to personal life

Having a negative personal life or "other" in the game shouldn't be frequent or often, however can be occasional or once in a while for certain players or only to certain newgens

I hope this can be possible.

    Thank You

  7. Hi FM Team

FM is an amazing game and I love it because of the social and emotional side of the game (players having reactions to things and the interaction system) so thank you for this.

    1. A new feature should be that once in a while a player will make statements through twitter, newspaper or post match interviews about being dropped off the team, being interested in another team or not being happy in the squad etc

    2. This and postmatch player interviews (interview about being named motm, Match result & performance etc)  will create a deeper emotional and social side to the game

I hope FM 21 has much success so this series can last for a long long time.

    Thank You

Yeah big teams can slip up and struggle but in FM I think it happens too often however i might be wrong.

do you agree with me on

    • Excessive & Unnecessary transfers by teams such as PSG
    • Poor Team management where a team buys to many players and do not sell enough.
    • Weaker sides being too predictable and not play enough aggressive and attacking tactics against teams that are stronger then them?

We're always working on improving the AI, every single version I've ever worked on (well over 10 years) has had improvements in these areas.

Adding more calculations to the AI adds more work for the game to do. If every AI manager is constantly considering all the points listed above down to the minute detail it will use more processing power and memory meaning the game would become slower and slower.

So we improve it as much as we can each version whilst not affecting the overall playing experience for users. Taking into account all our users, whether they're on the very latest tech or on lower-spec machines.

Yeah the A.I has actually improved alot and thank you for your involvement in FM.

I guess it's hard to find a balance between A.I Intelligence and Processing Power and Memory.

    My main issues are the

    • unnecessary and poor transfers by teams such as PSG. Also teams loaning players into the team without even using them .
    • Poor squad management where a team has too many unregistered players because they buy too many players and do not sell enough players.
    • Occasionally I would like to see risk and attacking & aggressive tactics from teams with a weaker side against teams with a stronger side.

    Hot take.

But I’ll engage. How would you improve the AI. Specifically what would you like to see done in every area you have listed?

Give examples on how none of the things listed aren’t optimal.

That conversation would be more helpful to the game.

    @anagain

    • Lack of Risk. Too Often A.I Mangers play too defensively or cautiously against teams that are better then them. I would like to see more risks and confidence to play aggressive and more attacking.
    • Poor Registration & Squad Management. A.I Managers do not try hard enough to sell their players so there squad ends up being to large with many players not registered. And sometimes A.I buys too many players.
    • Unnecessary Transfers & Loans. Sometimes A.I would loan players into the team but they don't use them.
    • A.I Manager struggle to adapt to the situation and find a way to win . Sometimes the A.I managers struggle to find a way to break Defensive/Cautious/Park the Bus tactics. I often see strong teams managed by A.I struggle to win matches that they should actually win. I see top teams managed by A.I struggle meet their own aims and objectives

It not as if OP has never been directed there before, on other questions. He's not a stranger there either, but if he hasn't tried to search for the information on the forums, should moderators just go in and give them the answer. Yes perhaps redirecting him would have been the better option, but there are even days like this when mods like me lose their tops needlessly

Thank you. I need to learn more about Libero

Watching Arsenal recently has got me interested in a back 3

FYI though Neil oversees the moderating, so it's not going to be a 'us vs them' thing.

Anyway, let us get back to the topic. @kingkingif you have tactical issues, I would suggest starting a thread in the tactics section with all the detail about your tactic and the issue as you can give.

    Ok thank you I will.
