I've given up reporting bugs related to A.I Managers tactics.
(I've been doing it since FM 19)
I extremely hate A.I allowing me to win
Not enough people are reporting issues with A.I managers tactics on the lack of creativity, extremity, risks-taking, and attacking. So as a result the devs won't fix this.
I've refunded FM21 and I'm sticking with FM20.
It's sad because no matter how many good new features there are, if the A.I is not trying then there is no sense of accomplishment
We are a small majority 3% that cares about challenge and how the A.I managers act.

This game aims for realism however A.I managers tactics is still as bland as ever.
Lack of risk, lack of Very Attacking mentalities, lack of creativity, lack of Counter Attacks and so on

Good Lord there are too many tactical team mentalities. And a lack of creativity from A.I manager tactics.
Keep it to a lower amount such as Defensive, Cautious, Positive, Attacking.
A.I managers never use Very Attacking with large amounts of attacking roles I notice. There is a lack of creativity or extremes from A.i managers in terms of tactics such as Very Attacking. They all are rather the same or bland for example Sit back or gengen press (Positive Mentality).
A.I don't know the meaning of risks I say

Guys please report any bugs to the bugs forum so we can make this the best FM ever
I'm holidaying 50 years to see how the transfer window, player development, retirement age etc is looking

Mate I've complained about this issue for years. Their is a lack of occasional variety and creativity from A.I that go against higher reputational team. They constantly just park the bus and their counter attacking football is awful. There is a lack of tempo and direct passing from their attacking.
No one in this forum sees it expect for us for some reason lmao. I feel like neo in the matrix. We are the only one that sees the truth.
At the end of the day the ME and AI is flawed. Another issue is A.I lack of effort to improve their own staff. There are talented staff unemployed for years without being recruited on my save.

The changes to condition, match ratings, match sharpness is enough for me to upgrade this year. One of my favourite new features is the added depth in what affects condition e.g. the type of runs and weather etc.
My other favourite feature is the Match Rating for Role Positions especially goalkeepers.. I love the fact that goalkeepers match ratings are fixed and that each player role have their own metrics for their overall match rating.
The only thing I am waiting for is news on A.I and how it has been improved.
- Do A.I Managers take more tactical risk against stronger teams? (e.g. play more attacking)
- Do A.I Managers rotate their team better?
- Do A.I Teams try to improve their staff ? (buy loan managers, replace coaches to better ones)
If not then this game will suffer and all realism will be out the window as league tables, matches will be unrealistic if A.I are not putting in the effort

This all has a big impact on playing a system with a high press. Tactics with a high Intensity rating require your team to cover a lot of ground in a concentrated period, in FM21 the match engine is now able to more accurately calculate exactly how this affects each player.
This is beautiful. Users that unrealistically abuse high press tactics should face the consequences of using it.
Use high press only if you have enough players for rotation, reducing intensity of training, good stamina and a schedule that is not too demanding etc.

GKs are now getting the justice they deserve. For years have GKs been the bottom of the barrel, the forgotten man in FM. GK match rating improvement are a big plus.
i just hope SWEEPER KEEPERS are better in their positioning ( they need to support the CB more) , risk taking ( they need to rush towards opponents sometimes).
For once I want a David De Gea or a Nuer on my FM.

I want to thank everyone that gave their feedback and suggested improvements to the ME
People hate when we give feedback but we give feedback with good intentions.
I am pleased to hear an improvement on the match engine with better central play
Also improvements on ST, CAM, GK with match ratings and how they move.
Honestly one terrible thing about the ME is how poor GK (Attackers) (Sweepers) are.
They lack intelligence, forward movement, they don't take risks and they don't support the CB enough etc.
David de Gea would hate FM because of the UTTER disrespect they give Goalkeepers... My goodness David De Gea would never win Fans player of the year in FM
I for one complained for YEARS on how poor ST (FALSE NINE) and CAM were.. the movement are horrendous for those positions.
Hopefully FM21 does it Right.

I must of missed that bit of information. That's good news and I will be helping the community by testing how the A.I have improved this year

2 areas desperate for improvement is A.I squad rotation and A.I squad registration and management for example A.I leave too many people unregistered and they don't rotate enough to keep a squad happy
Poor A.I unfortunately makes this game unrealistic, unchallenging and uninteresting

No news on A.I? This is disgusting. I know no one cares about this stuff. People only care about picking a tactics and winning matches. But i want my opponents to be smart and competitive
I feel werid because out of everyone on this WHOLE Website only I care about A.I. Honesty it's strange.
People in this forum hate when users like me post suggestions, report bugs and ask for more quality from this game. There is a lack of ambition from this forum... People only accept the minimum and don't ask for more
A.I is so important in this game. A poor A.I is a poor experience.
Poor A.I squad rotation means lack of players developing from other teams and A.I being plagued with unhappy players resulting in them playing worse.
Poor A.I tactics means lack of competition, unrealistic matches and unrealistic league tables.
poor A.I recruitment means lack of interesting transfer markets, unrealistic league tables.
Poor A.I youth development means LESS newgens being developed
Poor A.I wage management means teams unrealistically fail during long term saves because of financial difficulty.

Honestly humans are thought to be very efficient visual learners.
Icons have their place in FM as well as data (percentages, numbers).
In particular, Icons are very efficient way to compress complex information and communicate complex ideas efficiently for example GREEN = GOOD, YELLOW = OK, RED = BAD.
more iconography and less text is not a bad thing and has many benefits such as quicker interpretation (for some areas such as condition/sharpness or side bar menus).
the best of both worlds is an icon/graphic and hovering over it will display text or data for some areas of the game such as condition/sharpness.

I hope Miles can tell us if there are any new updates to A.I soon .
Such as A.I being more creative, risky and aggressive on their tactics, for example once in a while i want A.I to use "VERY ATTACKING" and HIGH LINE AND INTENSE PRESS when facing opponent that is better than them or when they are losing a match or when they cannot break a parked bus against weaker sides.
Also occasionally I want A.I to park the bus when winning matches and it's the 80th minute to try and frustrate the opponent.
Lastly I want A.I to actively try to improve and hire more staff. I notice lots of good staff staying unemployed for ages without A.I hiring them.
One can only hope and dream 🙁

However
A.I inability to Counter Attack or Attack efficiently is a known issue.
With a team predicted to be 17-20th, if I went Very Attacking, Direct, High Tempo, High Press I would achieve above expectations easily and be 10th or something.
We fans do not want this and we expect better from the devs.
