  1. Don't need stats for the Celtic game as the game is easily available on DVD therefore I can just watch it. Also Charles Rep and his long ball tactics had nothing to do with Scottish football.
  2. I took Peterborough from League 1, through the championship and into the prem without there being any major expansion of the ground.
  3. Have ye no' heard ae' the Lisbon Lions n the time they ripped Inter Milan's famous cattenaccio system apart? They had about 300 shots at goal
  4. Sounds like the 1967 European Cup Final when Celtic won in the heat of Lisbon
  5. Is there a way to get this update manually? When I tried to start a new game, 17.3.0 was only one I could could choose. If you want to start a save with all the new transfers in it, is there any difference between 17.3.0 and 17.3.1?
  6. Is 17.3.0 the most recent update? I thought I saw something about 17.3.1? Only asking as I want start a new save and want to make sure I'm playing the most up to date version
  7. i think it depends on the ability of the coach as well as the player himself. This has happened to me many time and i find it best just to ignore the coach's advice and press ahead with the training anyway. Sometimes they learn the move the coach said they wouldn't, sometimes they don't. Each case is different
  8. I knocked both Arsenal and Man Utd out of the FA Cup en route to the Quarter Finals with a Peterborough side that cost under 500k whilst still in League One, my most expensive signing being a goalkeeper who was bought for a whopping 135k from some obscure german team. We're now in the Premier league having achieved 2 promotions in 3 years and spending under 1.5m on transfer fees. The majority of my squad are on under 10k pw with nobody earning over 12k pw
  9. Arsenal are the easiest team to beat using a defensive, direct and structured 4-3-1-2 with two complete wingbacks on attack as fullbacks and i have beaten them with Peterborough using this system, more than once. I have also beaten Dortmund more than once, playing the same way with Mainz( although this was more than five seasons into the game).
  10. The 4-3-1-2 usually works well against a 4-2-3-1 but you get yer erse skelped if you play it against Spurs. The same goes for the 4-1-4-1 which also works well against other teams that use 4-2-3-1
  11. In FM17, 4-2-3-1 is different from the 4-4-1-1 Man Utd use as 9 times out of 10 you can beat 4-2-3-1 with a direct 4-3-1-2. This isn't the case with the 4-4-1-1. The 4-2-3-1 and the 4-4-1-1 may be fairly similar in real life but not in FM and certainly not in FM17
  12. I think it's more to do with the formation Man Utd use in FM17 rather than the team itself. Not many teams FM17 use 4-4-1-1 so it can be tricky working out how to counter it. Personally I've found that a direct 4-1-3-2 works quite well and managed to knock a full strength United out of the FA cup using this shape whilst playing in my first season with Peterborough. The team I find impossible to beat is spurs, I've managed to get results against most of the other top sides but have yet to win or even draw against Spurs in the League with my only victory over them being in a League Cup semi where they fielded a team of youngsters
  13. If the two home kits clash and you're the away team, you can choose between your 2nd and 3rd kits
  14. If you have three kits then you're allowed to choose which of the two away kits you want to wear
  15. Has anybody ever came across a situation in FM where an AI manager has done a Jorge Jesus?
