  1. December 6th: Watford (h) (14/38) Two minutes into the game we grabbed the lead as O.Scherbakov ran through the defence and wasted no time in firing under the keeper. On the 13th minute we had our next effort with D.Leonardi trying his luck from outside the area but the Watford keeper managed to tip the ball over the crossbar. Watford then had their first chance on the 38th minute as they broke through my defence and fired towards goal but K.Swaby was on hand to block the effort. The second half was ten minutes old when we had our next chance as M.Vandamme curled the ball towards the top corner but the ball didn't curl enough and went just wide. On the 71st minute the Watford keeper was on hand again to save the day with a brilliant block from J.Ashmeade. Five minutes later we finally got the second goal we deserved as M.Khumalo jinked into the area and wasted no time in dinking the ball over the onrushing keeper. Man Utd 2-0 Watford O.Scherbakov 2, M.Khumalo 76 K.Swaby, L.King, A.De Russis, J.Smith, P.Lane, A.Xhepa, L.Guglielmi (M.Vandamme), D.Leonardi, S.Pino (G.Bruni), M.Khumalo, O.Scherbakov (J.Ashmeade)
  2. September 2021: A poor start to the month saw us losing away to Grantham Town by a score of 2-0 and this was followed by us being knocked out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle with Marske United beating us 2-1 with I.Evans scoring our only goal. The next game saw us being thrashed 3-0 by Stalybridge Celtic and the game ended with a chorus of boos by the home fans, this was then followed by a dire 1-1 draw against local rivals Buxton with J.Woodiwiss doing the honours for my side. The next game saw us losing again to Lancaster City 1-0 but the players made up for it as they beat Radcliffe 3-0 in front of the home crowd with Z.Smith scoring a brace and L.Hughes grabbing the other goal. Up next saw us losing 3-2 against FC United of Manchester with N.Wroe and L.Hughes scoring our goals, I was far from happy as we gave away a two goal lead. After that result changes were made. The final game of the month pretty much summed up the rest of the month as we lost 2-0 to Ashton United, not a great month Results: (All League otherwise stated) 1/9/21: Grantham Town (a) 0-2L 4/9/21: Marske United (a) (FA Cup 1st Qual. Rd) 1-2L I.Evans 8/9/21: Stalybridge Celtic (h) 0-3L 11/9/21: Buxton (a) 1-1d J.Woodiwiss 15/9/21: Lancaster City (a) 0-1L 22/9/21: Radcliffe (h) 3-0 Z.Smith (2), L.Hughes 25/9/21: FC United of Manchester (a) 2-3L N.Wroe, L.Hughes 29/9/21: Ashton United (a) 0-2L Other News: After the loss against FC United of Manchester I took the hard decision to relieve Paul Phillips of his duties. With us falling close to the relegation zone I couldn't risk my investment going down the pan. His assistant Dave Wild will take temporary charge until I can find a suitable replacement. Transfer news sees De'marlio Brown-Sterling joining on a free and sees Christopher Francis leaving us on a free to Hayes & Yeading United The month ended with us sitting in the relegation zone in 20th place. Luckily its early season and I hope we can turn things around.

On the 18th minute they had another chance to score with a great team move which saw K.Swaby save brilliantly. Eight minutes later we came close to levelling as A.Grossi rattled the crossbar from ten yards when it was easier to score. On the half hour we were awarded a penalty after S.Pino was brought down on the edge of the area, M.Khumalo stepped up and fired past the keeper. The second was a lot better for us as we started to up the gears and on the 58th minute we close with a thunderous effort from A.Xhepa which stung the fingers of the keeper. On the 66th minute we grabbed the lead as substitute was quickest to react and fired in the rebound from J.Ashmeade's shot. Five minutes later O.Scherbakov grabbed his second of the game and our third goal with a well struck volley. Just before the half hour it was three nil as H.Kane rose above the defence and headed in a J.Sancho corner after his initial effort was tipped round the post. On the 65th minute we scored our next goal with R.Sterling scoring his second of the game with a shot which flew into the top corner. 7. November 29th: Liverpool (a) (13/38) We started the better and on the 11th minute we grabbed the lead as L.Guglielmi fired in from close range after running onto a M.Khumalo through-ball. Ten minutes later we had another chance as D.Leonardi stung the fingers of the keeper. We were in control of the half and on the 35th minute A.Grossi came close with a stinging effort which had the Liverpool keeper saving well. The second half though wasn't up to scratch for my players as we never turned up and Liverpool dominated. On the 56th minute they came close with a long range effort which was diverted wide by P.Lane. Soon after A.Xhepa was on hand to block a long range effort. Liverpool were all over us and on the 72nd minute they finally got the equaliser they deserved as J.Grubisic ran through the defence with ease and slotted in past K.Swaby. With three minutes remaining in the game we came close to losing the game as Liverpool broke through the defence but K.Swaby produced a world class save to deny them Liverpool 1-1 Man Utd J.Grubisic 72 / L.Guglielmi 11 K.Swaby, L.King, A.De Russis, J.Smith, P.Lane, A.Xhepa, L.Guglielmi, D.Leonardi, S.Pino (M.Vandamme), M.Khumalo (G.Bruni), A.Grossi (J.Ashmeade) The end of the month sees us still top of the table after thirteen game and some 5pts clear of local rivals Man City
  8. Season One 2021-22: July 2021: The bookies and so called experts have stated that they expect us to finish in 5th place and have odds of 6-1 to win the title. 9. After winning the Euro Lottery and a smooth £184,000,000 local lad Mark Wilson decided to invest his money into a football club. Instead of going for a professional club he decided to invest in his local club Matlock Town. The club is in the Northern Premier League and at the moment is a semi professional club who's claim to fame is winning the FA Trophy in the 70's. I will be running the club as director. The current manager is Paul Phillips with his assistant being Dave Wild. After the initial takeover I have told the manager I want to at least reach the Play-offs and be challenging for promotion within the next couple of years at a minimum.

The second half was three minutes old when T.Abraham completed his hat-trick with a fine strike from just inside the area. On the 54th minute T.Abraham grabbed yet another goal with a simple tap in after H.Barnes threaded the ball between the defence. Five minutes later another player completed his hat-trick as R.Sterling fired in from six yards after running through the defence with ease. 13. November 22nd: Arsenal (h) (12/38) The first half was a pretty quiet affair as both my side and the Arsenal side battled it out in the middle third of the goal. Their was only the one real effort in the half as A.Grossi fired in from outside the area but the Arsenal keeper brilliantly saved to deny him., The second half was two minutes old when we broke the deadlock as K.Jardine hit home from just inside the area after running onto a loose ball. On the 58th minute we had another chance to score with a great team move which saw J.Ashmeade firing just wide of the keeper. Five minutes later though the keeper stood no chance as K.Jardine hit home from twenty yards. On the 77th minute Arsenal had the chance to pull a goal back from the penalty spot after A.De Russis fouled in the area, luckily for us M.Joosten saved the penalty well to deny them. 14. November 8th: Stoke (a) (11/38) My 800th game in management and it was one of the more entertaining games. The game was thirteen minutes old when the first goal was scored as J.Serrano fired in from the edge of the area. Our reply didn't take too long as on the 29th minute A.Grossi barged through the defence and slotted in from close range. However with eight remaining in the half Stoke retook the lead as J.Serrano tapped in after M.Joosten fluffed a clearance. The second half was four minutes old when M.Vandamme curled in a brilliant free-kick after D.Leonardi was fouled on the way to goal. Soon after we had another chance to score P.Lane crossed into the area but O.Scherbakov headed over the crossbar. We were controlling the game but with nine minutes remaining we again conceded a silly goal as S.Grant tapped the ball in after J.Smith failed to clear his area. However our reply was swift as on the 83rd minute we were awarded a penalty after O.Scherbakov was brought down in the area, D.Leonardi stepped up and fired in from the spot Stoke 3-3 Man Utd J.Serrano 13, 37, S.Grant 81 / A.Grossi 29, M.Vandamme 49, D.Leonardi 83 pen M.Joosten, L.King, A.De Russis, J.Smith, P.Lane, A.Xhepa, L.Guglielmi, D.Leonardi, M.Vandamme, K.Jardine (S.Pino), A.Grossi (O.Scherbakov) Managerial Stats: Played: 800 Won: 498 Drawn: 135 Lost: 167 For: 1736 Against: 922 Win %: 62% Cups: 20 Leagues: 8 Promotions: 1 Relegations: 0
  15. September 7th: Poland (h) World Cup Qual. Grp I (6/10) A poor start saw us going a goal down in the 6th minute as P.Frankowski ran through my defence with far too much ease and fired under A.Ramsdale. Ten minutes later they had another chance with a long range effort which was blocked off the line by F.Tomori. On the 21st minute we went a further goal down with J.Kaminski heading in from a cross with my defence stood their like statues. Just after the half hour we finally had our first chance as J.Ward-Prowse crossed into the area but H.Kane failed to connect with the header. The second half was five minutes old when we grabbed a goal back as H.Kane ran onto an E.Smith-Rowe through-ball and fired past the Polish keeper. On the 54th minute I made a change as J.Tavernier came on T.Alexander-Arnold. Eleven minutes later I made another change with J.Bowen coming on for E.Smith-Rowe. After the change we had another chance to score with J.Grealish stinging the fingers of the keeper. On the 73rd minute we grabbed the equaliser with F.Tomori heading in from a J.Grealish corner after T.Abraham's initial was well saved. With five minutes remaining in the game we had the chance to grab the winner with a powerful effort from J.Ward-Prowse which bounced off the line from crossbar England 2-2 Poland H.Kane 50, F.Tomori 73 / P.Frankowski 6, J.Kaminski 21 A.Ramsdale, T.Alexander-Arnold (54-J.Tavernier), F.Tomori, T.Mings, M.Aarons, E.Smith Rowe (65-J.Bowen), J.Ramsey, J.Ward-Prowse, B.Saka (79-O.Watkins), J.Grealish, H.Kane (71-T.Abraham) Other Grp I Results: Hungary 13-0 Andorra, San Marino 0-6 Albania The triple header sees us top of the table on 16pts against second placed Poland on 13pts. Hungary and Albania are both on 10pts
  16. September 4th: Albania (h) World Cup Qual. Grp I (5/10) Another good start saw us taking the lead on the 3rd minute as H.Kane headed in from a J.Ward-Prowse cross. Eight minutes later we came close to another goal with J.Sancho threading the ball to the feet B.Saka but his final effort went wide of the post. On the 17th minute we grabbed a second goal as H.Kane played a one two with O.Skipp and slotted in under the keeper. We were in complete control however we couldn't finish any of our attacks in the first half. The second half was more of a training match as my players seemed to relax. Luckily for us Albania weren't up to much and offered in the little in the way of attacks. There was one last goal in the as on the stroke of full time J.Sancho curled the ball in from the edge of the area to give us a three goal win. However we should have scored a lot more. I was far from impressed England 3-0 Albania H.Kane 3, 17, J.Sancho 90 A.Ramsdale, T.Alexander-Arnold (49-J.Tavernier), F.Tomori, R.Holding, C.Taylor, J.Grealish (49-S.Mavididi), O.Skipp, J.Ward-Prowse, B.Saka (87-E.Smith Rowe), J.Sancho, H.Kane (71-T.Abraham) Other Grp I Results: Andorra 0-9 Poland, Hungary 11-0 San Marino
  17. November 4th: Dynamo Kyiv (a) Champions Cup Grp A (4/6) A terrible start saw us a goal down in the 3rd minute as A.Larin beat the offside trap with ease and fired under M.Joosten. Soon after they had another chance after some dire defending saw M.Joosten called upon to save the day. We were being completely outplayed and on the 35th minute they came close again with a long range effort which was headed over by A.De Russis. On the stroke of half time Dynamo grabbed another goal with A.Larin curling in from the corner of the area. Deep into injury time they grabbed a third with A.Larin completing his hat-trick. The second half was a lot better for my side as they reacted to my half time team talk and started to play. Just before the we pulled a goal back as K.Jardine hit a thunderous effort into the top corner from outside the area. On the 68th minute we had another chance to score with a low shot from L.Guglielmi but the keeper denied him. We were by far the better side and with four minutes remaining in the game we pulled another goal back as J.Ashmeade headed in a K.Jardine cross. However this was too little too late and we lost the game. I was furious with my side and let them know what I thought after the game Dynamo Kyiv 3-2 Man Utd A.Larin 3, 45, 45+2 / K.Jardine 59, J.Ashmeade 86 M.Joosten, L.King, A.De Russis, J.Smith, P.Lane, A.Xhepa, L.Guglielmi, D.Leonardi (S.Pino), M.Vandamme (G.Bruni), K.Jardine, A.Grossi (J.Ashmeade) Other Grp A Result: Barcelona 3-0 SLB

  19. I've done a Liverpool one and Scotland one...Cant bring myself to do a Man. City one. I wont even speak about Leeds September 1st: Andorra (a) World Cup Qual. Grp I (4/10) So my first competitive game and boom it started well as on the 2nd minute J.Sancho hit home from close range. Two minutes later we added another goal as H.Kane headed in a J.Ward-Prowse cross. We were flying and on the 7th minute H.Kane grabbed his second of the game with a low shot into the bottom corner. It got even better on the 15th minute after B.Saka was brought down in the area and H.Kane fired in from the penalty spot to complete his hat-trick. Ten minutes layer it was five nil as J.Grealish curled the ball in off the upright from just outside the area. Straight from kick off we added another goal as B.Saka played a one two with H.Kane and slotted in under the keeper. On the 31st minute a corner from J.Ward-Prowse was headed in by T.Mings. Four minutes later H.Kane grabbed his fourth goal with a brave header from a J.Sancho cross. With a minute remaining in the half we added ninth goal as H.Kane fired in from the penalty spot after his initial effort was handled. The second half was much the same as we carried on the attacking pressure. Nine minutes into the half I made a trio of changes as J.Bowen, S.Mavididi and T.Abraham came on for B.Saka, J.Sancho and H.Kane. On the 55th minute T.Abraham added a goal with his first touch of the game as he fired in low from just inside the area. It got even better for T.Abraham as on the 69th minute he jinked into the area and fired in off the upright. We were unrelenting and on the 75th minute we grabbed another goal with T.Abraham firing into the top corner to give the keeper no chance and to complete his hat-trick. Three minutes later yet another goal was scored with F.Tomori grabbing a goal with a brilliant looping header over the keeper. With eight minutes remaining in the game we added yet another goal as S.Mavididi dinked the ball over the keeper after spotting him off his line. Straight after the goal I made a change as J.Grealish came off and O.Skipp came on. With three minutes remaining we added the final goal of the rout as S.Mavididi fired in his second of the game. Wow what a first game in my managerial career Andorra 0-15 England J.Sancho 2, H.Kane 4,7,15 pen, 35, 44 pen, J.Grealish 25, B.Saka 26, T.Mings 31, T.Abraham 55, 69, 75, F.Tomori 78, S.Mavididi 82, 87 A.Ramsdale, T.Alexander-Arnold, F.Tomori, T.Mings, B.Williams, E.Smith Rowe, J.Ward-Prowse, J.Grealish (82-O.Skipp), B.Saka (54-J.Bowen), J.Sancho (54-S.Mavididi), H.Kane (54-T.Abraham) Other Grp I Results: Albania 2-2 Hungary, Poland 5-0 San Marino I was informed after the win that this result was the biggest World Cup Qual (EUR) win beating Germany's 12-0 win over Cyprus in 1969. Also it was England's biggest win when we beat Ireland 13-0 (Pre-1922)

  22. July 5th 2021: After Gareth Southgate left his role as England manager I was offered the role after several top names couldn't deal with the joys of the English press. The FA stated that they obviously wanted to qualify for the World Cup and will reserve their judgement of me until we have played a few matches. We have currently played three matches and sit top of the table with three wins out of three scoring six goals and conceding none. The press have asked how I will be picking the squad and I have told them it will be by form and not by reputation. We currently sit 4th in the World Rankings
