  1. January 4th: Burnley (a) FA Cup 3rd Rd We started well and on the 13th minute we came close to scoring as J.Ashmeade beat the offside trap but his final effort was pretty dire and went wide of the post. Eight minutes later we had another chance with a curling effort from L.Guglielmi but his shot didn't curl enough and went wide. We were all over Burnley and on the 33rd minute J.Ashmeade came close again but the Burnley keeper saved well. Five minutes later though we made an error as T.Franco slipped with the ball and J.Abdulahi slotted in the loose ball. The second half was much the same as we piled on the pressure and on the 59th minute we had another chance to score as A.Grossi rattled the crossbar from outside the area. Ten minutes later L.Guglielmi tested the Burnley keeper who was up to it and saved the effort. We were all over the Burnley side and with ten minutes remaining in the game S.Pino came close with a low shot which stung the fingers of the Burnley keeper. 3. June 7th: Czech Republic (h) Euro International League Div A Grp 3 (2/6) An entertaining game for the fans as both sides showed some attacking spirit. On the 25th minute we grabbed the lead as B.Saka jinked through the defence and fired under the Czech keeper. However nine minutes later Czech Republic equalised as P.Schick barged into the area and fired past A.Ramsdale. With three minutes remaining in the half we retook the lead as B.Saka hit home from outside the area after spotting the keeper away from his line. The second half was ten minutes old when I made a couple of changes as J.Sancho and S.Mavididi came on for R.Sterling and H.Kane. On the 56th minute we were awarded a penalty after S.Mavididi was brought down in the area, B.Saka stepped up and fired the penalty in off the upright,. We were starting the control the game but couldn't get past the keeper. Deep into injury time we conceded a second goal as Czech Republic counter attacked us and P.Hlozek headed in. Straight from kick off we let ourselves down as the Czech Republic intercepted the ball and P.Sevcik fired in from six yards to give the Czech Republic a share of the points. England 3-3 Czech Republic B.Saka 25, 42, 56 pen / P.Schick 34, A.Hlozek 90+4, P.Sevcik 90+5 A.Ramsdale, T.Alexander-Arnold, B.White, E.Dier, B.Chilwell, P.Foden, J.Bellingham, D.Rice, B.Saka, R.Sterling (55-J.Sancho), H.Kane (55-S.Mavididi) Other Grp 3 Result: Germany 0-0 Switzerland
  4. January 2037: January 1st: Derby (a) (20/38) A great game for the fans with some great attacking play but it took till the 34th minute for the first goal to be scored as M.Vandamme hit a free-kick into the top corner from outside the area. Just before the break we had another chance but O.Scherbakov headed wide of the post from an A.Xhepa cross. The second half was five minutes old when we grabbed a second goal with A.Xhepa jinking through the defence and wasting no time in firing under the onrushing keeper. On the 54th minute it was three nil as K.Jardine slotted in from ten yards. We were controlling the game but on the 73rd minute A.Grosz pulled a goal back for Derby with a fine strike. With four minutes remaining in the game Derby pulled another goal back with J.Santana beating my defence to a loose ball and wasted no time in tapping in past K.Swaby. 5. June 4th: Switzerland (a) Euro International League Div A Grp 3 (1/6) A real dire game for the fans who travelled to watch. We were clear favourites but the play was pure rubbish. The first half saw one single effort on goal as H.Kane's effort went high and wide of the post. The second half was just as bad even with three new players coming into the fold with J.Tavernier, S.Mavididi and M.Rashford all coming on. The final forty five saw not a single effort on goal. Switzerland were happy with the point but I was furious with my players and let them know my thoughts on the game Switzerland 0-0 England A.Ramsdale, K.Walker (45-J.Tavernier), J.Stones, E.Konsa, B.Chilwell, P.Foden, K.Phillips, J.Bellingham, R.Sterling (45-S.Mavididi), J.Sancho (45-M.Rashford), H.Kane Other Grp 3 Result: Czech Republic 0-2 Germany

However this was followed by a 2-1 loss against South Shields with Z.Smith grabbing our only goal. Next up was a Challenge Cup game against Warrington Town in the ¼ finals however we lost 4-1 on penalties after a dire 1-1 draw. The final game saw us losing in the league against Radcliffe 2-1 with L.Daly firing in the only goal. Results: (All League otherwise stated) 5/2/22: Lancaster City (h) 3-1w L.Daly, T.Hawkridge, De'marlio Brown-Sterling 12/2/22: FC United of Manchester (h) 2-1w L.Hughes, T.Hawkridge 19/2/22: South Shields (a) 1-2L Z.Smith 22/2/22: Warrington Town (a) Northern Premier League Challenge Cup ¼ Final 1-1d (1-4L pen) T.Hawkridge 26/2/22: Radcliffe (a) 1-2L L.Daly Other News: The month ended with us sitting in 11th spot after 34 games. We are 21pts clear of the relegation zone and 11pts behind the play-off spots with 24pts available to play for. I think we need a little miracle to get into the play-off spots but never say never in football. Transfer news sees us letting Paul Cooper going to Hemel Hempstead Town and Alex Wiles joining Wingate & Finchley on free transfers
  12. March 26th: Croatia (a) Friendly The next friendly and I made a few changes however it seemed to backfire as the players that came in didn't perform. Croatia were by far the better team and on the 27th minute they finally broke the deadlock as A.Rebic slotted in from close range after some woeful defending. Ten minutes later they had another chance with a thunderous effort which had A.Ramsdale at full stretch to save. I made a few changes at half time with F.Forster, J.Tavernier, T.Chalobah, B.Saka and T.Abraham all coming on. Nine minutes into the half we pulled level as T.Abraham ran onto a R.Sterling through-ball and wasted no time in firing past the keeper. However after the goal we reverted back to our first half performance as Croatia began to dominate again. On the 72nd minute they had another chance to score as they broke through the defence and fired with pace past F.Forster who stood no chance. With six minutes remaining in the game Croatia grabbed the win they deserved as M.Pjaca slotted in from ten yards but in truth they deserved a lot more goals. Croatia 2-1 England A.Rebic 27, M.Pjaca 84 / T.Abraham 54 A.Ramsdale (45-F.Forster), T.Alexander-Arnold, E.Konsa, C.Smalling, L.Shaw (45-J.Tavernier), P.Foden (45-T.Chalobah), J.Bellingham (45-B.Saka), D.Rice (69-D.Calvert-Lewin), R.Sterling, M.Rashford, H.Kane (45-T.Abraham) April 22nd: The draw for the European International League sees us drawn in Division A Group 3 against Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany
  13. December 20th: Sunderland (a) (17/38) Sunderland proved a thorn in our side again as they started the better and on the 20th minute they grabbed the lead with L.Davies heading in from close range. Three minutes later they added another goal with D.Lefevre running into the area with ease and wasted no time in firing under K.Swaby. Soon after the had another chance with a long range effort which stung the fingers of my keeper. We weren't doing much in truth but just before the break we rattled the upright after K.Jardine hit from the edge of the area. The second half was alittle better as we actually managed to stop the Sunderland onslaught but we struggled to break down the Sunderland side. With three minutes remaining in the game we fluked a goal back as M.Vandamme sliced a cross past the keeper. However this was all we managed and on the stroke of full time D.Culum gave Sunderland the two goal lead back with a long range effort. Sunderland 3-1 Man Utd L.Davies 20, D.Lefevre 23, D.Culum 90 / M.Vandamme 87 K.Swaby, L.King, T.Franco, J.Smith, P.Lane, A.Xhepa, L.Guglielmi (S.Pino), D.Leonardi, M.Vandamme (A.Grossi), K.Jardine, O.Scherbakov (J.Ashmeade)

  15. January 2022: The new year saw a busy start with a 1-0 win over Mickleover after De'marlio Brown-Sterling heading the only goal, this was followed by a 1-1 draw against Grantham Town with L.Hughes firing in from close range. The next game saw another draw as Morpeth Town fought back for a 2-2 draw with L.Daly and T.Hawkridge both scoring. We then face Grantham Town again but this time it was in a cup game as we beat them 2-1 thanks to a J.Uchegbulam and J.Sharman goal. The final two games were both league games with a game against local rivals Buxton and struggled to a 1-1 draw with De'marlio Brown-Sterling, the final game saw us losing 2-1 to Stalybridge Celtic with our goal coming from a W.Atkinson stunner Results: (All League otherwise stated) 1/1/22: Mickleover (h) 1-0w De'marlio Brown-Sterling 8/1/22: Grantham Town (h) 1-1d L.Hughes 15/1/22: Morpeth Town (a) 2-2d L.Daly, T.Hawkridge 18/1/22: Grantham Town (h) Northern Premier League Challenge Cup 4th Rd 2-1w J.Uchegbulam, J.Sharman 22/1/22: Buxton (h) 1-1d De'marlio Brown-Sterling 29/1/22: Stalybridge Celtic (a) 1-2L W.Atkinson Other News: We remain in 12th place in the league after 30 games some 17pts clear of relegation and now 10pts off the play-off spots. 16. Chris - A 19-1 win was a surprise. Its the biggest win I've had in the all the time I've managed on all forms of this game. March 23rd: Holland (h) Friendly Two minutes into the game Holland grabbed the lead with S.Mendes running into the area with ease and fired past J.Pickford. On the 9th minute they had another chance but this time J.Pickford was on hand to block the effort. Five minutes later we pulled a goal back as M.Rashford ran onto a R.Sterling through-ball and fired past the keeper. On the 20th minute we took the lead as E.Konsa rose above the defence and headed a J.Bellingham corner past the keeper. We were controlling the game now and on the 32nd minute we had another chance to score with a long range effort from M.Rashford which rattled the crossbar. Just before the break Holland came close to levelling the tie with a well worked team move which was thwarted by K.Walker sliding in at the last minute. The second half saw me make several changes with A.Ramsdale, R.Holding, D.Rice, S.Mavididi and H.Kane all coming on. The half was four minutes old when we added a third goal against the Dutch as C.Smalling headed in bravely from close range after R.Sterling's free-kick eluded the Dutch defence. On the 59th minute we made it 4-1 as R.Sterling ran through the Dutch defence with real ease and dinked the ball over the onrushing keeper. Ten minutes later I made my final change as J.Sancho came on for P.Foden. However on the 75th minute we let ourselves down as S.Mendes beat A.Ramsdale o a back pass form C.Smalling and fired into the net., but we had done enough in the game to claim the win England 4-2 Holland M.Rashford 14, E.Konsa 20, C.Smalling 49, R.Sterling 59 / S.Mendes 2, 75 J.Pickford (45-A.Ramsdale), K.Walker, C.Smalling, E.Konza (45-R.Holding), L.Shaw, P.Foden (69-J.Sancho), J.Bellingham (45-D.Rice), T.Chalobah, R.Sterling, B.Saka (45-S.Mavididi), M.Rashford (45-H.Kane)
  17. December 17th: Crystal Palace (h) (16/38) A brilliant start saw us taking the lead on the 3rd minute as D.Leonardi jinked through the defence and fired under the keeper. Eight minutes later we had another chance with a thunderous effort from the edge of the area which stung the fingers of the keeper. On the 34th minute we had another chance to score as D.Leonardi crossed into the area but K.Jardine headed wide of the post. The second half was a minute old when we grabbed another goal with O.Scherbakov running through the defence and fired low past the keeper. We were in control but on the 69th minute a poor clearance was volleyed back past L.Caruco. Six minutes later though any chance of the comeback was thwarted as D.Ivanov was sent off for a second yellow card. On the 88tb minute we had our final chance of the game as D.Leonardi fired the ball towards the top corner but the Palace keeper saved well to deny him. Man Utd 2-1 Crystal Palace D.Leonardi 3, O.Scherbakov 46 / L.Caruco 69 K.Swaby, L.King, T.Franco, J.Smith, P.Lane, A.Xhepa, L.Guglielmi, D.Leonardi, M.Vandamme, K.Jardine, O.Scherbakov (J.Ashmeade)

I decided not to bother with a replacement.
  20. December 13th: Leicester (a) (15/38) We never really turned up for this game as Leicester controlled the majority of the game. On the 19th minute they had the first chance to score with a long range effort which rattled our crossbar. Twelve minutes later Leicester grabbed the lead as J.Abel jinked through my defence with real ease and fired under K.Swaby. With three minutes remaining in the half Leicester scored again as M.Harris diverted a L.Guglielmi cross past his own keeper. The second half wasn't any better and on the 56th minute R.Latapy fired in from close range after some woeful defending by my whole side. Eight minutes later they had another chance as they broke through the defence with ease again by K.Swaby saved well. On the 78th minute we came close with our first real effort as J.Ashmeade stung the fingers of the keeper but that was it for my sides performance..Dire Leicester 2-1 Man Utd J.Abel 31, R.Latapy 56 / M.Harris 42 og K.Swaby, L.King, A.De Russis, J.Smith, P.Lane, A.Xhepa, L.Guglielmi, D.Leonardi (M.Vandamme), S.Pino (A.Grossi), M.Khumalo, O.Scherbakov (J.Ashmeade) December 15th: The draw for the Champions Cup First Knockout Rd has taken place and we have been named as a seeded team. The draw sees us facing Italian side Napoli, the first leg will be away from home. This gives my players the chance to exact some revenge for the 5-2 aggregate loss inflicted by them in the ¼ finals last year.
  21. November 2021: The month started well as we beat Warrington Town 2-1 as J.Woodiwiss and T.Hawkridge firing in to give us the three points. The next game saw us again winning 2-1 as T.Hawkridge scored again with W.Atkinson adding the other goal. We now faced a FA Trophy tie against Witton Albion and made light work of them as we beat them 3-0 thanks to goals from Z.Smith, De'marlio Brown-Sterling and T.Hawkridge and this was followed by another Cup game as we faced Sporting Khalsa in the Northern Premier League Challenge Cup and again won convincingly 4-0 thanks to goals from A.Wiles, M.Marshall, L.Daly and J.Uchegbulam. The next game on the agenda was a league game against Gainsborough Trinity which we laboured to a 1-1 draw thanks to a goal from Z.Smith. Again we had a double header of cup games with Brackley Town up first in the FA Trophy and after a 2-2 draw we lost on penalties 7-8. Our goals were scored by T.Hawkridge and R.Hannah. The next cup game saw us beating City of Liverpool 2-0 in the Northern Premier Challenge cup with De'marlio Brown-Sterling scoring a brace. A pretty good month of results Results: (All League otherwise stated) 2/11/21: Warrington Town (h) 2-1w J.Woodiwiss, T.Hawkridge 6/11/21: Basford United (h) 2-1w T.Hawkridge, W.Atkinson 13/11/21: Witton Albion (a) FA Trophy 1st Rd 3-0w Z.Smith, De'marlio Brown-Sterling, T.Hawkridge 16/11/21: Sporting Khalsa (a) Northern Premier League Challenge Cup 2nd Rd 4-0w A.Wiles, M.Marshall, L.Daly, J.Uchegbulam 20/11/21: Gainsborough Trinity (a) 1-1d Z.Smith 27/11/21: Brackley Town (a) FA Trophy 2nd Rd 2-2d (pen 7-8L) T.Hawkridge, R.Hannah 30/11/21: City of Liverpool (h) Northern Premier League Challenge Cup 3rd Rd 2-0w De'marlio Brown-Sterling (2) Other News: We have moved up a space from last month in the league as we sit in 13th place after 21 games. We are 12pts above the relegation zone and 10pts below the play-off zone.
  22. November 14th: Poland (a) World Cup Qual. Grp I (10/10) Compared to the last game this was a real dire start to proceedings. The first half saw very little in the way of action as neither my side or the Polish side came close to an effort on goal. The second half was alittle better. Nine minutes into the half I made a couple of changes as J.Wilshere and O.Watkins came on for J.Grealish and J.Bellingham. On the 68th minute the first goal was scored as P.Frankowski headed in past A.Ramsdale who was slow to react. Four minutes later I made another change as T.Abraham came on for the ineffective H.Kane. With four minutes left in the game I was forced into a change as S.Mavididi came on for the injured J.Ward-Prowse. The change seemed to work as S.Mavididi threaded the ball to the feet of P.Foden who lashed it past the keeper to silence the home fans. However the silence didn't last long as a dire pass by T.Chalobah was intercepted and K.Jozwiak fired in the winner for Poland. My first loss as manager and I was far from happy with the sides overall performance, maybe the Andorra thrashing wasn't of much help to us. Poland 2-1 England P.Frankowski 68, K.Jozwiak 90 / P.Foden 88 A.Ramsdale, K.Walker, T.Chalobah, C.Smalling, B.Chilwell, J.Grealish (54-J.Wilshere), J.Ward-Prowse (inj 86-S.Mavididi), J.Bellingham (54-O.Watkins), P.Foden, M.Rashford, H.Kane (72-T.Abraham) Other Grp I Results: Albania 8-0 San Marino, Andorra 0-3 Hungary We have finished top of our group with Poland in the play-off spots Now we have a break till March where I will be organising a couple of friendlies
  23. December 8th: The draw for the FA Cup 3rd Rd sees us being drawn away from home against Premier Division side Burnley December 9th: Barcelona (h) Champs Cup Grp A (6/6) The first half saw us dominating and on the 12th minute we had our first chance to score with a rasping effort from S.Pino which the keeper saved well. Ten minutes later we had another chance as A.Xhepa headed in from close range after some woeful Barcelona defending. On the 37th minute O.Scherbakov came close to grabbing our first goal with a curling effort from D.Leonardi which yet again the Barcelona keeper saved. We were all over Barcelona. The second half was three minutes old when we finally got the goal we deserved as L.Guglielmi played a one two with M.Vandamme and fired in from close range. On the 59th minute we came close to adding a goal but A.Grossi's long range effort was well saved. We were all over the Barcelona side but couldn't get past their stubborn keeper. Our lack of end product came back to haunt us as deep into injury time we conceded a silly equaliser as M.Khumalo (not sure if he's related to the one playing at my club) headed in a cross to give Barcelona an undeserved point Man Utd 1-1 Barcelona L.Guglielmi 48 / Molefi Khumalo 90+1 K.Swaby, L.King, A.De Russis, J.Smith, P.Lane (B.Oppong), A.Xhepa, L.Guglielmi, D.Leonardi, S.Pino, M.Khumalo (M.Vandamme), O.Scherbakov (A.Grossi)
  24. October 2021: The month didn't get off to a great start as we lost the first game against Witton Albion 2-1, our only goal came from N.Wroe. The next game saw us drawing against Morpeth Town 1-1 with T.Hawkridge heading in late to give us a point. We weren't at our best but the third game of the month saw us beating Stafford Rangers 2-0 with De'marlio Brown-Sterling grabbing a brace, this was followed by a 2-1 win against Bamber Bridge as L.Hughes and Z.Smith both scoring. Our busy month continued as we let a three goal lead go against Hyde United to draw 3-3 as A.Byrne grabbed one goal and De'marlio Brown-Sterling grabbing a brace. South Shields were next up and we grabbed a late 2-1 win with that man De'marlio Brown-Sterling grabbing another brace.. The final game of the month sees qualifying for the next round of the FA Trophy as we beat Marine 2-1 thanks to club legend R.Hannah grabbing one of the goals and the other coming from T.Hawkridge Results: (All League otherwise stated) 2/10/21: Witton Albion (h) 1-2L N.Wroe 9/10/21: Morpeth Town (h) 1-1d T.Hawkridge 13/10/21: Stafford Rangers (a) 2-0w De'marlio Brown-Sterling (2) 16/10/21: Bamber Bridge (h) 2-1w L.Hughes, Z.Smith 23/10/21: Hyde United (a) 3-3d De'marlio Brown-Sterling (2), A.Byrne 26/10/21: South Shields (h) 2-1w De'marlio Brown-Sterling (2) 30/10/21: Marine (a) (FA Trophy 3rd Qual.Rd) 2-1w R.Hannah, T.Hawkridge Other News: I acted early in the month to get my new manager in as I welcomed Russell Slade joined. He has managed numerous professional clubs from Notts County to Sheffield United. He comes with plenty of experience which I hope will transform our poor start to the season. The upturn in form has seen us move up to 14th place in the league some 7pts above the relegation zone and 11pts off the play-off spots. Transfer news sees R.Slade bringing in Andy Kellett on loan from Guiseley which includes a fee of £1,500. He also brought in Wes Atkinson from Hednesford Town on a free. R.Slade also got rid of a few players with Reece Webb-Foster (Hyde United), Liam King (Merthyr Town), Riece Bertram (Hitchin Town), Callum Chippendale (Clitheroe) and Adam Yates (Bishop's Stortford) all leaving on a free transfer. The release of Club legend Adam Yates hasn't gone down too well with the fans.
  25. November 11th: Andorra (h) World Cup Qual. Grp I (9/10) An absolute thrashing is all I can say as within three minutes we had taken the lead with J.Grealish lashing in from the corner of the area. On the 10th minute it was 2-0 with H.Kane running through the defence and firing under the keeper, straight from kick off it was 3-0 as M.Rashford headed in a J.Ward-Prowse cross. Their was a lull in scoring as it took till the 22nd minute for the next goal as H.Kane fired in from the penalty spot after his initial effort was handled. Five minutes later we grabbed another goal with M.Rashford grabbing his second of the game with a low shot. It was too easy and on the 34th minute J.Grealish grabbed his second with a powerful strike which gave the keeper no chance of saving. Two minutes later it was C.Smalling's turn as he headed in a J.Ward-Prowse free-kick after H.Kane was fouled. On the 38th minute H.Kane completed his hat-trick with a fine solo effort from the byline. With four minutes remaining in the half H.Kane grabbed yet another goal with a brave header from another J.Ward-Prowse cross. On the stroke of half time another player grabbed his hat-trick as M.Rashford tapped in from six yards after some woeful defending. The second half started quickly as within two minutes P.Foden grabbed his first of the game with a low shot into the bottom corner, straight from kick off we added yet another as H.Kane grabbed his fifth of the game from close range after some great play. Andorra woke up for a minute as again straight from kick a goal was scored as R.Alvarez slotted in after the defence seemed to fall asleep. On the 55th minute we scored again as T.Abraham fired in off the upright after a great team move split the defence apart, again straight from kick we intercepted the ball and O.Watkins got his first of the game. On the 59th minute T.Abraham headed in his second of the game after a brilliant cross from J.Ward-Prowse. Five minutes later O.Watkins scored his second as he played a one two with T.Abraham to tap in under the keeper. It was pure showboating now and T.Abraham grabbed his hat-trick on the 70th minute as he ran through the defence and dinked the ball over the keeper. We had to wait till the 85th minute for the next goal as O.Watkins completed his hat-trick with simple effort after the Andorran defence had all but given in. Their was one final goal in the game as deep into injury time O.Watkins grabbed his fourth of the game as he broke through the defence with so much ease and rounded the keeper to fire into an empty net. England 19-1 Andorra J.Grealish 3, 34, H.Kane 10, 22 pen, 38, 41, 48, M.Rashford 11, 27, 45, C.Smalling 36, P.Foden 47, T.Abraham 55, 59, 70, O.Watkins 56, 64, 85, 90+2 / R.Alvarez 49 A.Ramsdale, T.Alexander-Arnold, T.Chalobah, C.Smalling, B.Chilwell, J.Grealish (49-J.Wilshere), J.Bellingham, J.Ward-Prowse, P.Foden, M.Rashford (49-T.Abraham), H.Kane (49-O.Watkins) Other Group I Results: Hungary 2-0 Albania, San Marino 0-8 Poland The result sees us qualifying for the World Cup 2022 The result beats our previous record as the biggest victory in the World Cup (EUR) qualifying
