    Precisely.

Next to that a bug report has been created by SI on the poor turning and ball control of players, in comparison to fm18, preventing them to turn fully open and give a central through ball more easily.

All in all SI acknowledged issues in the public beta that combined together restrict attacking and creative play.

SI nevertheless feels this ME is the best it has ever put out and that of course is its right. SI will attempt to correct issues but also said some of them were going to be for the long term.

Many of the public betatesters think differently on the greatness of this ME based on countless hours of providing pkm's and analysis. And some of us advised against releasing this ME because we feared it would lead to more unhappy gamers.

I am not about to go down the road of frustration again. I did want to provide the right context and information for the gamers who were not involved in the public beta. It might prove helpful in understanding some of the criticicism on the ME here.

To be fair, you are one of the posters who I have seen to be way more thorough and analytical with your criticism of the ME so it is disheartening to hear you're not satisfied with the new ME.

Yes they have been backed up by data and evidence. A lot of players have dedicated a lot of their free time to help SI identify issues within the ME. You can check the ME bugs forum for that evidence.

The majority of that bad feedback is because the released 19.2 ME is the same as it was in the public beta with the issues  still present and probably not going to be fixed until the March update.

Re read what I posted. I said "a lot of the posts". I have no doubt there are some very informative posts on the situation. That said, I have not experienced these issues and I can (and I have) posted data to show I am getting many through ball assists.

Is it me or does "attacking mentality" often seem to mean "punt the ball downfield to nobody in particular"?  I get some real strange behavior when I push mentality up to anything above "positive".

I find whenever I put attacking mentality and I’m chasing a game, it rarely does anything good for me. Since I’m playing a fairly cumbersome online save, we only play on key highlights, so I basically switch to attacking and then never see a highlight again. That said, this probably isn’t a bug. You have to change your whole tactic to really get the best out of the mentality change. If you have a tactic suited to a balanced/positive mentality, it stands to reason that it may not perform well with an attacking mentality. That’s my guess anyway.

average number of crosses per match in EPL this season is 13 with 26% accuracy. So, having 13 blocked is a lot. why this happens is another story. might be his tactics :D

    O rly?

Can’t be bothered to do the whole calculation but Leicester City (highest) are averaging 23 per match and Brighton (lowest) are averaging 13 per match. So your maths/numbers are in direct contradiction with premierleague.com

Hey guys here's a bright idea. Post your penalty claims and corners/crosses screenshots in the bugs report section not the feedback. IT isn't fixed in here.

If you’re referring to me, if you had read properly you would know I’m not necessarily saying it’s a bug. So that wouldn’t be a bright idea, but thanks for trying

This is a feedback thread, I’m giving feedback, that is all.

Not sure whether or not you're being facetious. I'm highlighting the number of crosses that are blocked due to wide players dawdling. Whilst I understand these images aren't that specific - aside from being able to roughly correlate the number of corners with intercepted crosses - having watched all six games in a combination of full match and comprehensive highlights I can attest to the fact they are largely being blocked by defenders who have been given all the chance in the world to make said block.

As for the crosses not being 'incredibly' deep, the game defines deep crosses as being outside of the attacking third, I'd argue one, maybe two of those crosses meets that criteria.

No I’m not being facetious. Nothing looks out of the ordinary there to me. Without seeing the full match video, 9 intercepted crosses (taking the last image) seems completely normal, maybe even a tad low..

sorry eyes playing tricks, 13* maybe not low then but definitely nominal

Oh and sorry where do you get that “deep” definition from?

Given there's no difference between you and the AI in terms how the game recognises each user, the amount you've conceded is far less than you've scored. This would suggest you're either thrashing teams regularly meaning you'll have far more corners anyway, or you've stumbled upon an exploit that the AI doesn't use.

I’m not thrashing AI in general so yeah, looks to be some type of exploit. I’ve not tried to exploit anything though it’s a simple corner routine which I will attach to this post.

Edit: delivery is set to mixed

Yeah, pretty sure there is. Think it's on the tactics page, analysis then you can see the goal types scored & conceded

The attached is all I can find. Interesting to note we’ve scored 10 overhead kicks in 50 matches 😂

I also recommend submitting a save and PKMs if you can.  When I played, I was surprised by low conversion rates as well.  It won't get fixed without being reported.

    Will do

Tbf that's a bit of an issue, just thinking about the team I support (Arsenal) we've probably scored 5 overhead kicks (incl. scissor kicks etc) in the last 5 years...

@Vicz It's not just that its the fact the beta's ME was better than the current one and much realistic in what players did and felt, only major problem was the crossing in the beta even as inside forwards, now its hard to win games more than 2 goals and not even win/draw by 1 or 2 goals. Home and away form seems to be heavy this year, same with getting loads of yellow/red cards, injuries are killing the game and the constant bickering from players wanting too much/less training in a certain area and wanting to leave. And the fact when you sell players its hard but when we buy we pay almost 2x or even more so.

Honestly, I'm not seeing this in my save.

Players bicker but it's realism in my eyes. Not every player will be happy with the training you are doing all the time. Has a player actually decided he wants to leave due to training? Definitely hasn't happened to me. I've had some ridiculous bargains on my save too. Clyne on a cheap loan, Filipe Luis for £10m and some of the other guys have had nice deals. So sorry, I just don't really agree.

  10. I've kind of kept out of the ME discussion as I hadn't played enough matches to really speak on it. I still haven't played too many matches but I feel I've played enough to speak. I definitely do no see this apparent OPness when it comes to crosses. A lot of my goals have come from through balls and I'm not even playing the fastest of strikers (Immobile). The only things I have seen which I'm not convinced are really even that bad are:

Corners seem to be slightly broken - I scored 4 corners in a game (against a much lesser side), in various ways I might add - I was dominating and I won the game 4-1 in the end. So far I've scored 48 goals in the league, 14 coming from corners.

Penalties are just a little bit ridiculous - Immobile who should be one of the best penalty takers on the game has scored 1 in 4 penalties

The amount of games where a team with only 1 shot on target and 30-40% of possession win the game seems to be a bit on the high side this year. I'm playing an online save and a friend of mine is having an absolutely torrid time, the majority of the matches hes losing/drawing he's completely dominating. That said this could just be that FM19 has made lack of confidence an extreme factor in this year's edition - which may be a realistic thing

With regards to the AMC discussion, my friend is playing an AMC formation and using Nabil Fekir in it. He currently is the highest rated player in the prem (based on match rating). Upon further investigation my friend actually rotates Fekir around ST and AMC and his ST avg rating is 7.6, his AMC average rating is 7.3

So TLDR: I don't think this ME is half bad

There is always an advantage for human managers when it goes to team building and this is the reason why the game becomes easier after 2 or 3 seasons. Making the AI more intelligent is not that easy, as this part is similar to the squad selection in the ME. There are so many things to think about. If you could accept the limitation you could also accept that a DoF ins not that smart as you.

    Which is why for me:

Well he was on the ball for a good while and obviously wasn't under any pressure, Mane never made any movement. What good is it passing it to Mane where he is? What you'd expect to see is Mane making the run. Had he moved his ass and not received the pass I'd have blamed Moreno.

Oh is Mane #10? Sorry yeah that's ridiculous, however what's your attacking width set at? is he IF or W? Has he been told to support or attack? Has he been told to sit narrow or sit wide?

I'm not asking these questions because I think you're wrong I just think they're necessary for proper critique.

Moreno is FB-S with just a 'Shoot Less Often' PI and no dribbling or crossing related PPM's.

There's really nothing to be investigated, to be honest. It could have been the most dribble loving, cross happy, gung ho left back in the history of football, it doesn't matter because it's not his "fault", the issue was that no one made any movement into that space so his only option was to run there with the ball. The fact that he actually ended up losing it actually brings us to a whole different issue which has already been raised in the Bugs forum and SI said they're aware of it, I mean look at the space and think how long it'd take one of the defenders to close Moreno down, but wide players dwell on the ball like crazy and wait to get tackled instead of crossing most times.

To be honest from the first picture it looks like he could have just passed. To me it looks like an error from the man in possession than anything else. Hard to tell without video.

  14. To be honest I haven't done extensive testing of the ME but I feel people keep comparing the ME to real life and yes that is what you're supposed to do however the ME is only a canvas to which you are supposed to paint your footballing tactics onto. For example I've seen people say that at times there's 4 men running after 1 ball leaving stupid amounts of space - well, if you put your whole team on urgent press, close down always, press high up the pitch, then these are the types of things that will happen. In real life maybe a player would say "gaffer, that's stupid, why would I close him down when there's already 3 men closing him down," same way when somebody plays a true 4-2-4 formation in real life a player would probably say "gaffer this is ridiculous there's not enough men in midfield" but as computer game players we would still be annoyed if our FR/FL decided he was gonna play MR/ML. SI have to find a balance between unconstrained user input and realism.

I think I finally understand why the ME is so awful this year and leads to such incredibly boring matches. Allow me to illustrate -

    FF0187DB13C61AC3CB246C561D5E0D60810595C5

Look at this situation. What do you think happened next?

Look at the absolutely filthy amount of space on the left. Each of the three players in the box (the striker, the AMC, and the BBM) can run into that space to at least receive the ball. The absolutely obvious and clear cut option, though, is for No.10 - Mane, the inside forward - to actually make a run there which basically puts him in a 1v1 with the GK.

These are all options for what you'd expect to happen in... I don't know, Sunday League football. So what actually happens next? Well, here's the picture from a couple of seconds later -

    AF6FEFA74BFC6C53D19EF1D4087248DFB87B6564

All 4 players who could have made some movement into the space to receive the ball stood absolutely still, and Moreno ran into the space himself to attempt to cross the ball and of course lost it.

There is no movement in FM19. None. It's December in my first season and I think, after countless tweaks to my tactics, I finally understand why my attacking players have all been so poor. It is, categorically, like it or not, not my tactics.

I know I'm really salty about this. I try not to be. But it gets very irritating to hear, with so many people complaining about this, that it's just the fault of our tactics and the ME is in fact the best it's ever been, it's just us and it's our fault that we don't have yet our PhD in Football Manager tactics. It's my belief that there are people who are so deeply invested in the idea of them being tactical gurus that they refuse to see or admit any issues with the ME.

Not suggesting you're wrong but what are your team instructions? Is Moreno on reach byline? Cross often? Run with ball often? These things should be properly interrogated before blaming the ME.

My experience with the ME so far has been positive.
